Taking into account that they need time to let the concrete cure to then set correctly they are making good progress
They be working flat out till winter storms come hopefully roof be near done by October

Very sad to see the gasometer gone now, it's been a Manchester landmark for over 130 years and during WW2 my Grandad was an anti aircraft gunner who protected the tower and local residents from the Luftwaffe. Thanks for the video.

So the north stand existing roof was added after commonwealth games, so should be simple to remove as a section?
I think the cables will be fixed to the circular metal work as a temporary measure which will allow the removal of the old fixing post. The circular metal work is not high enough for the new roof
The new roof is nothing to do with these cables, these ones are in there final position and no longer fixed to the original post on one side
The new roof will be fixed by new cables to huge triangle structures at the top of the towers. The current work is purely to transfer the OG cable net from the old supports to the towers so that the old supports can be removed.

I know you’ve explained it, but I still can’t get my head around these original cables ,if their staying in situ , won’t they be seen when sitting in new stand , you said they did the same with south stand expansion , can next time you fly , please could you zoom in on the south stand to see if we can see the old cables after they expanded the south stand please 🩵👊
I will do, but I did do them a few videos ago and they are definitely there.
If you look at a side view and look at the rake of the new stand you will see the cables will be well above the view of the pitch.
