- After a discussion with a crew member. I believe another discussion of how showdown actually works and a demonstration of a newer player versus a seasoned player account is once again in order. Showdown is not handicapped racing, it is run what you bring within limits of available cars. Showdown also does not provide resources that we all need other than elite tokens and some bronze keys. Silver keys are often missing from the rewards recently. The problem with showdown is that it is more a resource sink than a resource building event. It can become a huge time sink as well as resource burning event. Not to mention losing all the time may burn you out as a player. In the end, the event is not meant to be fair or give equal opporunity to players to advance. It is designed this way so you have to know what you are getting into.

Really great video to explain these things. Unfortunately, there are things in Showdown that are almost impossible to get, elsewhere in the game.
Hi Max, a nice example of the showdown exploit there, I usually wait till the last 2 days and try to get upto about level 1200 but I've been chasing the green tokens for the tuning event lately, thanks for the video and a happy New Year.

Another great video. It's probably worth mentioning that the Aventator Coupe, 488 Spider, and 650S have consistently shown up for most of the T5 Championship Showdowns. Fully maxed, they seem to be good for up to 1400-1500 trophies on the last 1-2 days.
A small note on the glitch. I am finding it also has to do with connectivity to NM's servers. At certain times in the day, I've noticed some lag in the scoring (even at low trophy scores) which may or may not self-correct in a few races. (Your example was clearly the "glitch.")
Yes the slow update I have noticed during some times too. But when the score disappear and never update later, it's different.

Great video very accurate. Showdown is just a grind for participation. It’s pathetic how much hacking and glitching goes on in the showdowns. Even if you make it to the top too apex car you’re not gonna get to the top because cheaters. So I’m very happy just having a car that can collect the participation’s.

Hey Max! Great video as always. Do you still get the event prize if say you complete 300 out of the 500 races?
Participation is by numbers of races run. I believe one of the major prizes is at 350 though.
I personally feel that the showdown “placement races” should determine what bracket each player go into for their trophy earnings. Such as just say in my placement races I’m averaging a 9.5 1/2 mile time. That should mean that every racer I face in the showdown should be no faster than a 9.3 and no slower than a 9.7. That means that also I wouldn’t have much to invest in the car to compete at the top instead of having to try and dump in game currency through the clock to chase a fully maxed out car . That’s my personal thought on how the official release of showdown should go after the beta .
That was be far more interesting and fair to players. But I don't think it will end up that way.
@@maxthegamerOG Sadly enough I agree . This game reminds me of the medieval times where the rich gets richer and the lower stays low lol . Because unfortunately if you don’t prevail in many events you may never get your hands on those key parts that allow for a more complete event ready car .
Yea i just grind for the race total rewards. Just have my 650s at stage 4. Dont really need to use my game cash on upgrading it all the way

I don't agree with that about based on trophies only I have one account I will always try to max out my Showdown car and the other one could be missing one or two stage 6 parts and several fusions and from 600 trophies all the way up to 15 or 1600 trophies the one missing stage 6 parts always gets easier competition and rarely goes against fully maxed cars. You should try it side-by-side a couple times and then I would like to know if you changed your mind. After 1700 and up you are correct I'm still testing but using your videos leaving off the stage 6 part that helps the car the least in a few fusions sure seem to make it easier let me know what you think

That newing r8 rsr is cool but I also have a R8 decenium that is purple, I got all the 6 parts wich one should I max??
For showdown Newing is definitely much faster. But for long term use I have not really liked either car that much.
My issue with showdown is it constantly pairs you with vehicles that you have no chance of winning. My gto is one of the few this season it will let me use. It’s right under maxed out. So instead it pairs me with players with maxed out tier 5 cars. Like wtf is the pairing system in place
That is how its designed. SD pairs you with the same trophy count players. Regardless of the cars. So the only way to win a lot is to have the fastest car in SD fully maxed and shift pattern down. Basically its meant to make you spend and build cars for each SD. Unless you have unlimited free access to cars. You will mostly lose at these eventually.
So some say that if you leave Showdown after losing a few races and go back in a few hours later, your chances of winning more races increases. I understand the thinking but I would think that if everybody left at the same time and everybody then came back at the same time to continue, then shouldn't the results be the same as they would have been previously? Is there such a thing as a losing streak? And if so, do you personally think the aforementioned is a possible solution or is it a superstition, or what?
We don't know exactly how matchmaking works and NM would never tell us. But the idea that as you win more the computer will try to get out harder opponents makes some sense. Leaving and coming back is likely to only help reset the way the algorithm treat your position as far as whether it should pick harder or easier opponents. That is still pure speculation on my part of course.
@@maxthegamerOG Yeah. It is difficult to know when one doesn't have all of the facts (the way NM likes it). And if there is an algorithm that resets after a given time which may or not work to the player's advantage (provided they can drive), we still don't know how long to wait. Two hours? Four hours? Twenty four hours? Eight hours? Twenty six minutes, thirty three point threefour seconds?
So when I think of this, I say to myself, "Maybe I ought to just drive the freakin' car."

I was going to build up an LB 650s for this event because I have 6 s6 parts for it but the car cost $20 really that's alot for a car that only does 8.2 Maxed what do you think?
If you are going to be stuck grinding without reaching really high levels. It's probably not worth the $20. However, if you like the car and don't mind spending. It's fine to spend. There is nothing wrong with spending if you are satisfied.
The way I'm thinking is if your going to spend $20 I'm getting some dyno busting/ low 7s to sub 7s car but like you said its about what your satisfied with thanks for the advice looking for to the next vid
I want to know how these dudes finish in the top 1k-100 or better!?
Do they just sit & wait every race they lose? I've had MAXED OUT S6, PC/APEX cars running within .005 of the listed WR times and I STILL won't finish better than ~1000 or ~1800 trophies...usually 13k-50k
Well some just grind. Others cheat. I don't really know as I rarely get to see the top 500 anyway.

At what level does showdown show up? I started a second account and showdown is no where to be seen.

It is not true that you lose that trophies. Game adjusts your trophies when finding your next match. so you got to 1663 (+33) then you lost next one but the initial trophy was 1630 (-33) and that dropped you to 1610 (-20) but just the next one that you suppose to have 1610, you raced starting with 1645. I believe it is a bug or it is a way that matchmaking tries to find you a match by lowering your trophies but giving it back in 1-2 later matches.
I also suggest you make a video on every showdown that comes up and you dont need to say people dont know how it works and just show the cars that can be used and what are the top 2 cars with best tunes and stage 6 effects... That produces you a continuous idea for making video.

i kinda went bankrupt .. after 3 showdowns i have only 10m left from 60m i upgraded 2 cars like a fool and didn t even need them.,.
Yeah it's easy to get wrapped up in trying to compete and burn up tons of our resources.

Showdowns are ment to pissed you up
After the coward stole your trophy's u was at 1630 then u lost the next race (-20) which put u at 1610 but when u started the race after u had 1645...guess they decided to give u some back 🤔
The trophy thing is part of NM's problem too. When it's already so vague and inconsistent we cannot really have any comfort in the score they are showing you.
