I got that weird C. 202D from Operation Winter a while ago, slept on it super hard, and took it out recently because of the Italian 12.7 buff. Dude it's a dream to fly. Highly recommend it.

They were trying to use every known aerodynamic trick to create the best carrier fighter of the time. They succeeded but couldn't get it accepted into service.

Wow, Defyn, you managed to get that exactly _backwards._ The AAC was so impressed by the Navy's new zoom-interceptor that they had Grumman make them one. But being the Army...it had to be...different. Hence, the heavier gun loadout (which meant a longer nose; which was better), and stuffing a turbocharger into it. But then the turbo blew and they were forced to bail. A normal outfit would have said, "Well! Let's see what went wrong and fix that. Build us another one, please." But this was the Depression, and the US Army was the 20th smallest in the world--so they just said, "Oh f^&k it; throw it in the trash. We didn't really care anyway." Like an Emo-kid who broke his favorite toy. Some days I really wonder how the f^&K we managed to win WW2; Honest to God.🙄

if the XP-50 was a rare event premium, and the XF5F was the always available premium the entire 3.7-5.7 br range might be vaguely enjoyable to play against competent American teams
it's pretty good for the Rank III+ 2 assists battle task for air RB
XF5F can't match historical climb performance at the moment, and has other performance issues, due to the fact that it has similar prop efficiency issues to what the XP-50 had some time ago.

From a historical sense this was being made when the United States had both an Army Air Corp and Air force at the time.
That is a fun fact. During the entirety of WW2 it was officially either the Army Air Corp or Army Air Forces. It's name was changed to Army Air Forces during 42 but was still technically under the AAC even though the AAC ceased to exist. The reason for the change was so that the Air part of the Army could have its own acquisition logistics that the ground part of the Army couldn't interfere with.

Good question.
Basically you have to nolife this game to improve without falling back to the 'i rather take an easier plane/tank' approach imo..
Also you need lots of luck to survive long enough to improve.
It takes nerves of steel to keep going back sometimes, something i usually don't have the patience for.
I noticed i do better during events as i have an incentive to do better and just stop caring about dying.
You can do better if you don't hold back but that takes a certain state of mind, one that will be counterintuitive as long as you keep thinking about your repair costs or time wasted.
I just play with auto-repairs turned off.
But then again i'm not a pro stat padder and i even crash a lot on purpose to save time when i have nothing to gain from a situation, this game is grindy af..
So, according to Gaijin, it somehow makes sense that a twin-engine aircraft traveling at 700+ KPH and emerging from a dive should be easily caught by a single-engine aircraft that was just turn-fighting on the deck?

Idk, I don’t really think 109E’s are under tiered, haven’t flown much low tier lately but they have shit energy retention compared to the 109f1 which is the real clubber 109.

I tried to submit the bad performance as a suggestion/bug report, I guess it didn't go up. I love that they communicate what is wrong or could have been done better instead of forcing us to guess. lmao. The climb rate should be 21 m/s and it is 9. The XP-50 stats are based on the stats of the X5F, as all i could find was there aren't actual results on the XP-50 they are estimated. There is no way that this thing handles worse. The stats also are based on the 4 50 cal x5f, therefore chances are it should even handle better. Everything is a tradeoff. Not sure what they did to this thing but bombers handle better and that is unfair. Fucking game.

I like to think of xf5f as the hybrid between the Ta 152 and Bv 155 playstyle-wise, because like the Ta 152, the things have very strong flaps but sh** energy retention
