  • Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa is an aquarium that offers a space where sound, light, and cute creatures come together under the slogan "TOKYO's Cutting-Edge Entertainment. At the entrance, fish swimming gracefully under the beautiful night sky and colorful fireworks were displayed. As one proceeded onward, the "Festival Fireworks" area appeared, creating a space that reminded one of a festival scene. In addition, beautiful patterns of fish transformed into fireworks were projected on the walls, floor, and pillars. In the "Jellyfish Rumble," jellyfish illuminated with red, blue, and yellow lights floated fluffy and fantastic in a wide space 9 meters wide and 35 meters deep. The dolphin performance has completely different themes for each season, and for daytime and nighttime. In the daytime, the dolphins perform a fast and furious dance to an up-tempo rhythm, involving the audience and creating a show. At night, the dolphins create a magical world of sound, light, and water art. This is my second visit this year, and I never get tired of the show no matter how many times I see it. The night version is held from 7:00 p.m., so it is best to enter in the evening to see both the daytime and nighttime productions. The display of underwater creatures is also excellent. The "dwarf sawfish," which has a saw-like snout, is the only one kept in captivity in the world. In addition, the "Nanyo Manta Ray" can only be seen here in eastern Japan. This is a wonderful aquarium where visitors can see the powerful movements of saltwater fish, freshwater fish, and marine animals.
