  • I love RC ultra-micro parkflyers. They are so convenient; you can fly them almost anywhere, parks, baseball diamonds, parking lots, some of them even in your backyard. They are also relatively inexpensive and easy to store, thanks to their small sizes. The new ones made out of EPP or EPO foams are quite resilient and almost indestructible (unless you manage to fly them into a tree or under a moving car).
I am especially enamored of World War II mini warbirds, since they harken back to a very active time in aviation history. Previously, I have reviewed four ready-to-fly (RTF) mini warbirds, three from Eachine/Volantex RC (F4U Corsair, T-28 Trojan, and P51D Mustang) and one recently from WLtoys/XK (A220 P-40 Fighter). In case you have not watched my reviews of these mini warbirds, here are the links:

When this yellow T-28 Trojan mini clone with 380mm wingspan from WLtoys/XK was released about 6 months ago, I put it on my wishlist. It recently went on sale with an additional $5 coupon at Banggood. There was only one left in stock from their U.S. warehouse, so I immediately placed an order (this is NOT an affiliated link):

I paid $59.94 shipped to my door (Massachusetts, United States). Considering that this is a ready-to-fly (RTF) package that comes with everything you need (except the four AA batteries for the transmitter), it is an amazing deal in my opinion, IF it flies well.
In this first video, I am doing its unboxing and sharing my initial impressions. I am also comparing it to the Eachine version of the T-28 Trojan. Is it going to live up to my expectations and perform as well as the previous mini warbirds? You have to wait for the next episode, where I will be performing its maiden flight!
Thank you very much for watching. I hope this review was informative for you. If you liked it, please hit that like button and consider subscribing to our channel, so you do not miss the upcoming RC aircraft videos. Please stay tuned for more mini warbird videos. Enjoy the hobby and stay safe and healthy.

So nice to see you back with airplanes!! I have all the eachine warbirds except for the BF 109. I've seen this XK T28 Trojan fly a few times already and somehow I wasn't very impressed with it 🤷🙄 your friend Marty from Canada 🇨🇦 🛩 🛩

Thank you very much Marty! It was a long winter and busy work schedule for me. Airplanes are back now! I liked the XK Trojan, almost as much as the Eachine version. I just posted a comparison of these two. I do not have the BF 109 yet, but it is on my wishlist... I am waiting to find it on sale for around $60. 😀 Take care and hope to hear from you again soon my friend!

I have both the XK T-28 and the Rare Bear. My Rarebear is much faster, stable, and aerobatic. My T-28 seems to like to crash (tip stall) on turns, and I'm having difficulty adjusting this characteristic out. Do you have suggestions?
Also, I believe if I got the setup parameters to fly with my Radiomaster TX16S, I would have a much better experience. If you have these settings could you please include the multimodule menu selections in your video intro/comments? Have you been able to duplicate all of the functions including top right and left buttons?
    Thanks! - Jim

Hi James. I have an XK Rarebear as well, but it has been sitting in its box. I am planning to review it today, if the weather allows. I will keep what you say here in mind while I am doing the review. I am planning to make a few more videos if I manage to bind and set up these airplanes to my TX16S. Please stay tuned.
In terms on tipstalls, only thing that comes to mind is the sudden rudder deflection that seems to a problem with several XK mini airplanes. Flying them with an OpenTX transmitter may help... hopefully we will see it soon if I make these videos. Cheers!

In case of crash, is the propeller equipped with propeller protection?

Yes, I can use some help! Let's coordinate for next weekend, if you have time.
