Also make yourself up an automobile toggle switch with a full set of input and output plugs/sockets for all yor types of batteries. Trying to hold down bind buttons and plug batteries in is a mug's game. Makes finding a suitable battery easier as well.

I like to use a small wood peg when I can to help with binding on small receivers, works well sometimes and not so well others hahaha.
Also, the reason why on the rudder mix that you don't need any offset is that it's moving in both directions, but with the elevator you only want it to move in one direction.
so the offset makes sure that it only travels the desired weight in one way. So, a weight of +50 and an offset of +50 means the lowest value is 0 and the highest is 50 (assuming it's using the raw input from the stick or a linear curve). This also means you can do things like +50 weight and -50 offset. in the case of +50 weight and -50 offset, you would get -100 at 0% stick and 0 at 100% stick.
I hope that somewhat makes sense and helps give some understanding to that kind of mixing

RE using the FRSky receiver (which required the throttle reversed) - If you do your channel reversing on the "Outputs" page as normally recommended you will have no trouble with using the Timer on "Ths"! There are a couple of other "Gotchas" with using reversing on the "Inputs" also.

for the press on Propeller, you can use a but of fishing line 🎣 and secure the prop, so it won't fly away but still clips of when crashing, without breaking !

Hello and thank you for your video. But I was wondering do you know if the transmitter that comes with the Rare Bear can be changed from Mode 2 to Mode 1?
I was originally taught to fly Mode 1 and I have since tried flying on Mode 2 but I can't get my head around the elevator being on the right hand side. I have tried this many times in the RealFlight Simulator but alas I cannot fly like I can when I use Mode 1. So I have gone back to Mode 1 but the Rare Bear I have comes with a Mode 2 transmitter so that is why I am asking if you know how to convert it to Mode 1?
Any help will be greatly appreciated and thank you :).

Got my plane and tested a little. Seems you do not need a micro receiver to control the plane. The multiprotocol module can be used to control the plane directly. Use the V911s protocol and E119 as subprotocol. Posted a short video on my channel to show the config. Using a Jumper T-Lite transmitter.

I'd just updated my Radiomaster 16tx and there is specific Luas (Multi channel namer) to solve this issue (v911s/e119 protocol) ...and now you can bind directly to the existing receiver of the plane (in others words, not necessary additional receiver)

Interesting that you got it to work from the PPM output from the A8S Blowy. So the S-bus socket will accept either S-bus or PPM and auto select from them. Some flight controls will do this and some won't. (The KingKong/LDARC Tiny Wing 450X has different inputs for the S-bus and PPM signal and the RadioLink Byme-A/D stabs will accept either)
If you read all that manual there should be a section on how to swap the i-bus/S-bus output between the 2 types of signal. The A8S comes set for i-bus by default and that WILL NOT work to drive the S-bus socket! ;-)

@@blowy48flyrc Not sure i'd say that. The V761 board and drive system is better. Also we'll have to wait and see how long the XK electrics last. Even the satellite sockets are not that important now that the full stock protocol is being tested for the Multis. It will help those with just stock Spektrum/Futaba/FRSky/Flysky etc transmitters. I wouldn't knock back 1 of those bright yellow jobbies though. Much easier for us Old Farts to find in the scrub! :D

Something that intrigues me Blowy? You have your 6G/3D switch on channel 5 via the Flysky receiver but Pascal's Multi Module Firmware (recent version) shows it on channel 7 with "Rates" on channel 6 for the V911S/E119 sub used to control the stock board. EDIT...I've just noticed that with the OMP protocol the 6G/3D switching is also shown on ch 7 and I know that when using the S-FHSS satellite for the Eachine E119 heli driven by the XK X6 Tx from the XK K110 heli, the Omphobby S/T720 planes change modes with the Gear Switch on the Tx. Generally that is on channel 5!?? Looks like some unknown position shifts are taking place somewhere? Maybe a case of "Suck it and see?" with the channel order when using satellites!

Hey Blowy... Could you comment on which of the WLtoys/XK warbirds fly the best, and which might better to avoid?
And same question for the Eachine/Volantex warbirds?
And if you think the Eachine generally fly better than the WLtoys?
I have an XK T-28 that flies AWESOME...I totally love it. So then my dad bought the XK P40 thinking we'd get the same experience for him. But instead his is quite a bit slower, and FAR less stable (both with stabilization off AND with stabilization on...either way my T28 is much more stable, predictable, and controllable than my dad's P40).
    Thoughts?

    • @MrDLRu
      @MrDLRu Před rokem +1

Have all the Volantex warbirds except the Corsair. T28, P51 and Zero don't need any weight added. Those fly pretty good out of the box in expert on TX16S. The P40 needs 3 US penny's under the motor access cover. The Spitfire needs 2 US penny's under motor cover. Stay away from the ME109, as it requires a US quarter and nickel to fly level and also the motor/gearbox mount on this plane is weak because of how they designed it.

    Hello.
    I love your videos.
Please can you explain or confirm if I'm wrong as I could be.
Yes,,, I can bind these planes to anything as I'm an expert drone builder and a 3D plane pilot but I also like cheap and cheerful si I can have fun with my less experienced friends.
I purchased the xk a260 and the xk 220
The throttle elevator mix is so annoying for trying to teach my friends as it's too outrages having elevator mix on a simple 4 channel plane. ( I can't switch it off for the newbi )
Thy fly pretty rubbish and the prop saver and gearbox is a joke as even in mild crashes the balance of the prop is all over the place.
The gearbox is brittle and breaks.
    The transmitter is no good.
The trims for the motor torque is quiet extreme.
Generally this batch of planes are a bad copy of the voltantex and sonik range.
Voltantex and sonik are simply fantastic.
Is this just me or are xk becoming bad at what they do at this time in there evolution.
    Rewire...

    • @blowy48flyrc
      @blowy48flyrc  Před 2 lety

Yes we probably like the volantex/ eachine planes better and hopefully last longer but planes don't like crashing these mini ones can get away with it only because they're light
