Hello everyone, I am the new owner of this A8. The car drives and feels amazing. I am currently having on average 23 mpg. I cleaned the sunroof edges and it seems that the leek is gone. Overall amazing value for the money.

The 2008 S8 V10 was my ultimate dream car when I was 16. Once I have the garage space I might hunt for a pristine low mileage example to live out my teenage car fantasy.
You should deffo keep this and go to town onit Calvin it's so different and such a special car I haven't seen many other videos on these and certainly never seen somebody use one as a project and do something special too one, I think it would be good for the channel

The wood trim is actual real wood, its just a wood veneer. Its also aluminum backed and coated. It has a 2-3mm thick clear coating to give it the shine. If you ever go to a junk yard try to find any Audi and break in half a piece (if its already damaged) and you will find a wood veneer, and it will splinter and the fibers are easy to push and dent with a fingernail.

This era was my 'watch top gear religiously' student years when I had a £250 90's mk1 1.2 clio but was in awe of anything with 2L or more!
Some others to look for, the V12 TDI Q7! The V10 TDI Toureg! The CL600 with 1000nm torque. I saw you've already had a W8 passat on, good lad! Also any V8 SLK, madness for engine size to car size. Looking forward to you getting more, hilarious to see teletext in the options hahaha
had one of these years ago was the 4.2 v8 sooooo comfortable . used to sit on the drive and listen to the bose surround sound as couldnt drive it much with 15mpg lol

One of my personal favourites, these cars were way ahead of their time!
I don't normally like wood in a car but this looks great. This car would be great to restore on show like wheeler dealers. In years to come this could be worth a bomb.
Apart from restoring i would love to see it tuned to the moon!!!!
These a8 are absolute tanks my uncle has one of these (but I think compared to the one in the video its a early generation/ pre/facelift) its done over 500,000km and it still drives like new - air suspension still functioning. i don't think he's changed the timing chain since he bought it new.

I remember seeing the used Phaeton W12’s disappear from the country in a matter of months, I’ve always wondered what country they were exported to.
Looks nice and straight, it's hard to align those cars after a bash, this one looks original.
love the w12 engine in the early 2000s it was a dream lol..
now pull that w12 out and put it in a mk4-5 golf ;)

I've just bought a A8 but a 3.0D so all the comfort without the fuel bills. suspensions adjustable through that pop up screen. dynamic will lower it and stiffen it up. sunroof water ingress is the drains they block under the car.

A8 lwb Quattro, love um. W12 Calv these are aluminium, aluminium space frame lol surprised you didn't know that, have it serviced gearbox etc, a lot of car for the money. A like for this video 🔥
I think I’d love my next car to be the facelift A8 of this era with the 4.2 V8 tdi, been eyeing them up for a while. My dad currently has a mega spec 08 VW Phaeton (this cars brother) and it is an amazing piece of kit
I owned a 4.2 tdi twin turbo which was remapped and derestricted. I've owned many fast cars but that could race most supercars and bikes. 175mph off the clock and more power still... faster than a rs4 b7 etc. Amazing car very capable. Definitely one to go for

I do like the better mpgs of the diesel but the speed and the sick sound of the 6.0 keeps pulling me right back.
If only I can find one thats been well maintained for under €8k,Imma grab it most probably.

Calvin, you should keep hold of that Audi A8, get the sunroof fixed and keep it for yourself for a little while. Enjoy it before you sell it on
just drewling over the m5 in the back but thats a good bit of kit
S8 5.2 V10 is worth a shout too, just leave the same amount of money spare for repairs and maintenance

I have one I chauffeur with. Athlone Chauffeur services on Facebook in Ireland. It’s a love hate car. Mine is 2007 and has a solar sunroof a fridge in the rear and B&O sound system. They are so fast 295km on autobahn wants more. Switch suspension from comfort to dynamic to give it a firmer ride. I’ve done Embassy work, rock stars tv and radio. It is plush with out drawing to much attention.
All day driving. But the repair bills are expensive and your sunroof fault is very common. The drains block

Roof leak will be sunroof drains, they suffer with that both the d2 and D3

I like the fact they have memory seats for a 04 car it's insane
does the twin arm rest have a twin compartment under.. that pop out screen is boss! lovely seats too
In mine the driver side arm rest has an audi mobile phone in it. It's also got a solar panel in the sun roof that powers coolers so the car doesn't get too hot when parked up in summer.

Am trying to decide to go for a w12 or the S8 between 2006 and 2008.
The sound of the s8 is fantastic but then it wants to hold your bank balance Hostage.
W12 is more of a relaxed with no carbon build up .

I nearly swapped a 530d touring for one of these. Dodged a massive bullet. And didn’t they have fingerprint start but had to get rid due to fingers being chopped off.

If you turn off ESP the 0-60 is quicker because the quattro system doesn't bog down as much.

Don't forget mate the VW Phaeton used the same platform and engine as the Bentley and the A8.
They should have used this engine in the rs6 with twin turbo or quad turbo it would have been a animal.
