Jordy, that is a darn good eagle, to me it brings out color from the wood, I see strength in the way you streamlined that eagle and even brought it out in the eye! The feathers on the far side make it look like it’s stretching it’s wing and the near wing is folded back as if the bird is at the nest. A like a lot!!!!

Good afternoon Jordy, that turned out to be a beautiful carving I have carved a little Me wood but no Yew wood, I guess I am going to have to cut a few trees in my yard for carving, I had the TV installers come out and they said they could not install a dish because there were to many trees interfering with the satellite signals. LOL, at least I have internet. God bless and stay safe.

I really like the use of the colors and depth of this piece. Also the variation of turning the piece horizontally instead of vertically. Can’t wait to see how the wood spirit turns out on the yew wood!

Hey 👋 Hey “JJ”. I’ve been asking my brother how he gets the handles of the knives 🔪 that he makes !? Sanding Sealer & a number of different grits of sandpaper , then more sealer & light sanding !? He uses epoxy for a lot of his handles !? Have a Great Day “JJ” 😉👍

Yew was used by the Indians to make their bows (bow and arrow) it is a very dense versatile wood as far as being like a spring.
