At some point, Star Citizen will turn into a TV show. Whether it's live action or animation, it will be awesome either way.
Many content creators already do that and its amazing
I could go for a show like red vs blue, where they use in game mechanics and animation lol
With Chris having contacts in the movie industry I'm sure he could make something along those line happen at some point down the line. Some adaptations are better than others though, Arcane being amazing while the Warcraft movie was quite forgettable.
The quality of Squadron 42 and how wide spread and successfull it is will be a great indicator of the potential for the Star Citizen IP to expand. Growing too big can be both a blessing and a curse.
They may as well try finish something I suppose, sitcom it is
I suppose SQ42 and player creations would scratch that itch in the meantime

He's completely right.... if there were missions like this in SC it would be very enjoyable to play.. granted still in alpha but theres only so many boarding actuons, cargo hauling and bounty hunting you can do until you get absolutely bored and wanting more than a short closed ended mission contract
@@NickLongFilmmaking I wasn't disagreeing with him and hopefully we'll get those in time. They, once-upon-a-time, had a narrative tutorial. After a few updates it was broken to the point of uselessness and taken out of the game.
There are some questgivers in SC that are a *bit* more narrative... when they work. Clovus Darneely, Constantine Hurston, Miles Eckhart, Wallace Klim, Tecia Pacheco, Eddie Parr, Ruto... eh, the list goes on. In time I've no doubt there will be more, but they have to get the main game systems online and WORKING before much of that. Content is often left to beta.
There's only so much development time in a day but gamers' desire for more, is infinite.
To be fair, SC already provides enough tools to experience stories similar to the ones in the video, I certainly have some, but you need friends and creativity/silliness to make them memorable. I'm not sure if quest lines would add much on that regard, if that's what you're talking about.

@@Nimoodles30k frequency has gone way down, but if you haven't experienced one in two years, you're just not playing very much.
30k's may be a thing of the past with the replication layer and server meshing. Oh course, you can still lose internet connection.

@@SideQuestStories Yup. Go to security post kareah and you can sometimes get contraband.
@SideQuestStories yup! Especially if you get one from an evidence locker. Go into the inventory and right click and press "open" and it should have some drugs inside 👍🏾

We were told we'd have working vending machines a few years ago. We were told mag stripping and reloading was coming over a year ago. Now we have back reloading. Even if they said it was a thing it'd take years to implement then several more years to iterate on it.
@@astrotraveler6998 I saw quite a bit of aversion to mag stripping. That's probably why we're getting the new system. As long as you can do it, I'm happy.
They vending machines not coming does suck. Probably because of everybody complaining about them working on non-fundamental systems and seemingly not the important ones. They *were* working on the important ones as much as possible but some systems were blocked by necessary systems that were WIP but not finished.
@@astrotraveler6998 On the grand scheme of things it just wasn't important. I prefer what they did instead because updates are a lot faster and they built a new game engine for an MMO. I used to be a HUGE fan of MMO games, but after Mabinogi, FLYFF, and of course WoW, everything else just felt copy/pasted and wasn't anything new. I originally wasn't a fan of star citizen, seemed like a gimmick, but after actually playing I got hooked because playing games like Destiny and CoD just wasn't fun for me, they were so... contained. I couldn't get into Elite because you were a spaceship and not a person.
Although Star Citizen took a long time, we got something fresh and new that isn't really like any other online game currently out. So for that, I'm okay with small useless features like slots and mag stripping being delayed. I found other fun interactions and work arounds for mag stripping.
Also, I play Project Zomboid and Mag stripping is more annoying then fun, to be honest. :/

I've been playing actively since last fall and have no idea what Stella Fortuna is.
So I went to the website and I'm still not sure, is it just an RP-heavy skin drop and a reminder that racing contracts exist?
It's just an in-lore, SC-based holiday modeled after St. Patrick's day. There are others: Red Festival (chinese new year). Coramor (Valentine's Day). Triggerfish (April Fools Day). Invictus (kinda of a Memorial/Military apreciation Week). And Alien week (celebrates when humanity had first contact with an alien species).

All talk no action. I backed in 2012....I was promised a game in 2016...it is now many years passed that date. Broken promise after broken promise.
Those early release dates were guesses (very bad ones), but never "promises." CR just couldn't stop himself and keep his mouth shut. But they've never actually "promised" anything except that they would make the best game they possibly could, and keep working until it was done.

I can already tell that this game will never come close to Helldivers 2 in terms of active people and gameplay. Guys like CR shouldn't make games, it's a tragedy...
What a bad excuse. They have made and missed multiple deadlines for this games release. What was stated has not come to pass. The management of this project has been an absolute shitshow.

And again, not once did they set an actual "release date" or "deadline" and miss it. It was just CR taking overly optimistic stabs in the dark, and some fools interpreting that as a "promise" set in stone.
Obviously they learned from those mistakes. Time to get over it and move on already, seriously.

the great thing about these videos is that they are made with real in-game footage, not made with movies that misrepresent how the game actually looks and works. This is awesome!
Not always - CIG has absolutley been known to fugde advertising content to push their agenda. Maybe not these short takes specifically but some of their larger scale presentations were rigged with duct tape and bubblegum despite touting "in game footage" (aka they've faked some major presentations in the past).

My apologies. I'm just sick of people complaining about "fix ___ instead of doing ___". They require DIFFERENT devs with DIFFERENT skills and training. The people who can fix those issues won't fix them any faster if you throw more untrained devs at them.

You can call it what you will, but the lack of ANY type of acknowlegement of, or connection to, St. Patrick's Day, is more than a BIT insulting, especially giving it an Italian name. At least it could have been Réalta Ádh (RAIL-teh aw).
You guys make some cool videos, but the actual events are always a disappointment. It would just be nice if there was a handful of events or holiday-adjacent themes that weren't simply marketing to buy more ships and paints. As far as I can tell, the only part of this that isn't an opportunity to spend money or make free marketing content is getting some coins playing Arena Commander.
