It's a completely new focus tree/nation. At least used to be like that in the previous update.

Taueror here's a tip, use bigger militia garrisons with dogs so you don't use as many dogs. Basically instead of 1 width militia with dogs, use max combat width militia with dogs because when you have 1 width + dog it uses the supplies needed for a dog X the amount of garrison's that are stationed there and the larger the combat width garrison division, the less garrisons it'll need to be stationed

The Old World Blues stuff has been some of the best hoi4 content I've seen in a while. Your interest in Fallout makes it all the better and more interesting than regular hoi4.
Enclave update just dropped! I'd love to see Navaro Enclave (Eureka -> Granite Company -> Conquer NCR and get new focus tree), they even received custom puppet state focus trees

For anyone wondering about the preparation mechanic you have to rush to the Helios focus so take only the industry focuses and on one side of the industry tree you have to take the quicker side i.e the sixty day focus instead of the little tree. If you do that you have 20% bonus to combat stats and the ncr has a 20% debuff. Essentially you're trading about 6 mils or civs to conserve some manpower during the war
Or if you run Veronica you can get both and still have a balanced Sunburst spirit. Post-war HELIOS Research gives you ARCHIMEDES II
When done righteously, OWB is just a game, like any other.
I do recommend going for Twin Mothers. They're fun. Also Vault City is alright and Arroyo is a lot of fun.
Have you tried the super mutants yet? Really good story and the giant trills (basically tanks) are so fun to use. Alamo chapter is also has insanely good power Armour-bots
MORE OWB. I'd really love to see a Texas playthrough, and a MacArthur as soon as it's updated.

Those huge debuffs you got at the beginning of your fight with the Mojave territories was due to your lack of preparation. If you took more focuses or decisions that give your preparation the debuffs would be smaller, or even turn into small buffs.
I have three tips:
1.Only do one of the long focus paths at the start preferably the one for the mills,
It will let you get to the preparation foci faster
2. Go with Veronica bc she gives manpower
3. Watch out for those starting PA divisions I think they are only 4 battalions of PA

i love you and i love OWB im not going to get tired of of you playing OWB
I will say that anti-tank rifles are definitely worth producing, since they can almost act as support artillery if it dealt hard attack and piercing instead of soft attack.
A majority of units in OWB are soft targets, but nations aren't going to shy away from using armored units like enforcers and vehicles when power armor isn't an option.

Love the OWB. If you need any recommendations, The Texan Brotherhood, Troll Warren, and Twin Mothers are all very fun. Also apparently I really like the letter T
Really enjoying this OWB content but the Great War stuff also sounds very exciting - if anyone is going to completely decimate in an infantry based war it's going to be Taureor 😁
Would also like to see you try Kaiserreich again, or possibly Millennium Dawn / modern day mod as Poland. Regardless though, whatever you choose to put out will be excellent, I'm sure.

There was an issue a few weeks back (i think) where the game crashed seemingly for no reason, the solution was to use 'delall CES' in the console which would fix the crashing.

Actually focusing on Helios one at the start is not needed at all, you get some research stuff, but thats it. You can activate it later down the road as well. But remember, I think it makes some focuses lock as well later on.
I really like upgrading veronica and getting more manpower, you'll need it if you are going to occupy any territory. I also would avoid pushing out and fighting the NCR and Caesar.
I feel that about the save game being corrupted. I was playing the Western Brotherhood and had just won my warn against the NCR after years in game and was getting ready to attack the remains of The Legion then boom anytime I hit play the game crashed after I came back the next day.

I’m honestly loving the mod
Still trying to figure out if I can make their AI survive. Really want to play Lost Hills, but their focus tree relies on BoS Chapters survivong long enough to receive help. Meanwhile all BoS AIs just crumble to dust😅 No idea how to proceed with them.
Ngl, Eden/Unity/Ironmongers/Shale seems like the best region for quick and fun game. No real endgame for them though
You can use the Ad Victoriam submod, its fun and upgrade some rutes for lost hills (Like reformers and troika)
And you can influence the Shi to become your ally.
The Rogue Rangers have an extremely fun focus tree, pretty much everyone in the Esmerelda battle royale have very fun focus trees.
Oh what the actual heck. I just saw this after starting my first playthrough of OWB in several years, which is also one of my first HoI4 runs after many years. Also as the Mojave Chapter. Doing my run under the assumption that Veronica actually has an impact softening him and he isn't a total ass in addition to total lunatic.
I love this mod. How about a Legion playthrough as a firm civilising faction? A bit of reform (away from that crayz melee weapon focus, actual land improvement and not so much Rome LARP). Conquering the "uncivilised" tribes and eventually abolish slavery. Good guy ceasar like.

You should try the Texan Brotherhood, not the hardest campaign but has a great story! By far my favorite nation to play in OWB.
The difference between occupied and colony is that with colony nobody has a core on that state, whilst occupied it has a core

Keeping Veronica around was obviously a vital strategic decision since she has damage bonuses against women, a useful asset when facing the egalitarian NCR. However not getting Arcade Gannon on your side is a crucial mistake due to missing out on his damage bonus against which would have provided a decisive advantage against the entirely male Legion.
I’d like to see a OWB A-Z or at least every path/ every roleplay for the major players

It would be pretty sweet to see you do a world conquest with Honduras in rt56. They have free war goals that let that take pretty much all of North America and then you’ll have the us navy so the rest of the game should be easy
