The Pixel 7a is clearly a much better smartphone than the A54, and, the Pixel 7a (in 2-3 months when it will be around $350-$400) and also the Poco F5 will be real thorns in Samsung's feet, and without lying, I'm really happy, Samsung has to stop giving a fuck about people.
However, at $500 for the 7a, the Pixel 7 is a better buy, but surely in 3-4 months when it will be around $350, there the 7a will be a very good deal if not the best in North America and Europe, but not necessarily elsewhere with competitors like the Poco F5 / F5 Pro, OnePlus 11r or Motorola X40 which in many markets costs $500.
Ps: on the other hand, the increase in the price of the Pixel 7a does not announce anything good regarding the price of the upcoming Pixels 8 / 8 Pro.

500 dollar phone is not a budget phone
Yes, it's a tremendous value when compared to its main competitor, the Samsung Galaxy A54 (no wireless charging and esim).
I think it's a great value too. The A54 has some stuff going for it like 120Hz display, macro lens and longer battery life but Pixel is better on performance

5 years of security updates but don’t believe Google has said for feature updates

That's odd. I'm finding my battery life is significantly poorer. It is also getting warmer at the end of May and the T2 does have known issues dealing with heat.
So, perhaps we could get a more real world do over, outside of a temperature controlled environment? I'm guessing, even if it doesn't shut off on you due to the heat problems, it'll still drain faster.
That's what I'm seeing.

i dont like squarish look.. Also it looks bigger/taller than S22/S23. Why? Wish it was 145mm X 70mm in size. Weight is 195grams?. really?.
The launch time was 0030 in India. I ordered the snow white one as soon as it went online. It was worth waiting for it over 6A.
Mobile is good but if they are added telephoto lens then its gone a big deal but now i cant say its worthy bcz paying 45k no telephoto lens means no buy for photograph lovers....
That's why they have the Pro version

My battery life is fine. Lasts a full day without issue.
It isn't you have pixel 7 for this price nowdays LOL.
Pixel 7 comes with a year less of support than the 7a right now, so you must factor that into the cost of the devices as well
@@Lillowh. Pixel 7 is a better phone with faster regular charging, faster wireless charging, better display, thinner bezels etc. Logic says go for pixel 7 for the same price anyways.
@@gerbos7199they essentially have the same displays ,( albeit minor differences in size ). On paper the 7's auto peak brightness goes higher , but only on paper. During some tests using a meter the pixel 7a actually reached a slightly higher peak brightness ( in nits) Their standard manual brightness is almost the same .
IF SOMEONE IS GOING TO CHIME IN FROM BEHIND THE CAMERA, PLEASE PUT THEM ON MIKE SO WE CAN HEAR FFS!
Samsung a54 is so shit lol that gpu test at 17 fps is alone a reason to not even look at this garbage.
Pixel 7a is solid!
