Little bits of fuel in to the exhaust therefore giving it the pops and bangs, you can get the trophy, which has the trophy chassis an additional 20bhp and an optional EDC (gear box)

Totally agree although the latest one hasn’t quite hit the mark like previous cars. This gen looks an awful lot better in the flesh than they do in pictures / videos.
People that buy modern hot hatches ie golf r, rs3 etc don't really know what a real driver's car is, ie one that's more envolving, dramatic and raw
I've had a Clio 172, Clio 197 and a Clio 220....loved all of them
It’s interesting, as most people I know that are into their cars are fully aware of Renault Sport products and how good they are to drive 👀
Your right, growing up French hot hatches were the best ones, but then everyone wanted to get In on the act and more and more people leaned towards german cars due to efficiency, but problem is they lack something that most French hot hatches had, this is an amazing car, I have a 21 plate 300 sport, amazing car and a great last hurrah for the renault hot hatch before electric takes over.
Great video, fantastic cars! French got hatches have a certain great feel to them and are quite lively. If you look past the badges, they’re fantastic and give a lot of feel and fun when driving

I'd only consider the trophy 300 version. These are great driver focused cars... tho that singing 5pot rs3 is gonna be hard to turn down tho...not a bad choices to be making tho mate 👍🏾💯

It’s not 490nm, it’s 390nm. It’s about the same as the s3, golf r and cupra 300 torque. Just less power.
He is definitely getting a35 amg yellow, i will bet any one....
You cannot compare this to a Hyundai. The heritage Renault has is amazing!

there is no fake exhaust or any kind of noise going through the speakers in MRS...everything what you hear, is real

Dont know te budget and the exact reason of why and what with the next car... but if you read this and you just want one of the sickest sounding cars that will turn heads with looks and brand as well... consider a Jag F-type S. And if its not practical enough just make an awesome video with it which you can do for sure :D
As a Megane Rs owner myself, I can safely say that NO hatch beats a Renault for fun and performance on track 💪 But if you're after luxury and purely straight line speed, the RS3 or a45 is definitely a better choice 💥
Ben Kyriazis agree bud I have a R26 done many track days ! I’ve got a B5 RS4 too with 500bhp for the long journeys but isn’t as much fun as the Meg

Most long term hot hatch fans would always consider a Clio or Megane as Renault have provided more than any other manufacturer over the last 43 years & its a myth that the first hot hatch was a Golf GTI as Renault released the 5 Alpine/Gordini several months earlier with proper sports seats & alloys unlike the VW. The overrated Audi & Mercedes are rarely considered amongst younger drivers as they cost a lot more and will not be any more fun to drive.

Got the impression you were being polite, maybe liked some aspects, but not as much as the RS3. Is your final choice actually one of the 4 Test Drives you're sharing? Or is this all a slight of hand?
I liked it, but not as much as other cars for sure. Will be interesting to see if anyone else see’s this comment, but my new is none of the 4 cars I test drove 👀

the megane rs stands out for the insane cornering speed... so try the rs trophy on a empty road ;) even more fun
I know you fancy a change but you will always be comparing them to the Golf 7. I think they will always fall short after the initial rush.
The RS and RS3 are leagues above the Golf

Not sure how you can review a car driving like that. This car only really gives its best driven hard and having a play, otherwise looks wise it is dull, interior awful. You gotta give it a proper run!
Them Méganes are quick after a map
It's not a wild card at all, Renaultsport have been doing hot hatches properly longer than most manufacturers. You should be comparing this to a Civic Type-R, I30n, 308gti, Golf gti, Focus St, Leon Cupra etc. All Fwd and roughly in the same price bracket. Rs3's are considerably more expensive!

I have a Renault work van and the build quality is questionable despite my best efforts to look after it 😂. Good cars to drive just not to own in my experience. But others have different opinions.

I actually think the Megane rs is overlooked by most people, myself included. Pleasantly surprised by the looks of the car both interior and exterior...but I don't think you're going for this one ;)

@@hampshirephoto Gotta say though if you were to get one, the orange colour is in a league of its own. A colour which could look ridiculous on some cars compliments the megane really well

I’d take a Megan over an RS3 any day brother. Don’t fall into the RS3 trap. Yes it’s a 5 cylinder but it has no character, and it’s not a drivers’ car. It’s a “let’s race from traffic light to the next traffic light, in a straight line” car.
Megane RS is on another level.
The indicators' sounds are irritating 😂
A proper hatch. Be more enjoyable to drive than the golf r. Had one. All these awd hatch’s are the same to drive. Dull and boring. For me I’d go rwd and coupe.

You'd be surprised. I've just moved over from a Mk3 Focus RS and the Megane RS is way way better from touch surfaces to door open/shut sound. I've looked at alot of options since ditching the Focus and the Megane was a real curve ball surprise to me.
Scott Taylor MK 3 RS is outdated generation now. When Ford releases the new one with the new focus interior, there will be a huge difference between the Ford and the Megane RS
@@scottparker943 the mk4 ST Focus isn't much different to the Mk3 RS inside. Almost feels identical inside with the same tech (Sync 3) but just stuck on the dash rather than integrated into it.
I've got Ford in my blood as grew up with them and have owned several RS products in the 90's. But the latest for me, coming back to them after 15 years away, are a big disappointment.
Scott Taylor Yeah i guess I can’t really share that view. Only owned one Ford Focus (MK 4). Still believe that the interior is definitely an upgrade from what I have seen of the MK3, even if infotainment is basically the same. Shame its still lagging a bit behind audi and vw

I think after 4 years and the fact they are now discontinued for the electric revolution, prices are about to start creeping up for decent speced models, and in a few years they will have a cult following, even more than what they have now in the megane rs groups.
The French, quite simply do not build good cars, that will fall apart and be forgotten quicker than an i30N

Yeh far more exciting & fun to drive , it will be rare & exclusive , the Golf just looks dull & boring by comparison with the same design over 3 generations , the GTI & R versions look much the same as the anonymous cheaper models which are on every street in the country. Badge snobs forget that Renault have produced more great hot hatches than any other manufacturer.

Agreed. A hot hatch is defined by the words "affordable" or "cheap" as much as their performance specs. An M140i, RS3 or AMG, as awesome as they are, are not hot hatches.
