    I use to work for a plumbing company. We would tell customers to keep grease from building up in the pipes, run straight hot water in your pipes for a least 5 minutes or more.

    • @rupe53
      @rupe53 Před rokem

      these days nobody uses hot water. We have all these building / safety codes to limit water temp to around 120 degrees, and your shower or sink might further limit that to say 105 degrees.

      trap inside is a common old school approach here in the northeast. They were originally to prevent rodents from crawling up the line (sewer rats) and also, so you didn't need a trap at every sink.

    • @NYDRAINS
      @NYDRAINS  Před rokem +1

      Well actually, I tried snaking out both lines before jetting and didn't work, and the line going out was given me a problem and when all those grease chunks went floating down, it piled up and clogged that end 🤷‍♂️ even if I jetted the out line first, it would have still clogged up 😉👍

    • @NYDRAINS
      @NYDRAINS  Před rokem

      I don't add everything I do in the videos, I tried snaking out both lines before using the water jet and all the chunks of grease just went flowing down the out line and getting stuck, it didn't matter which line was cleared first, plus with all the rain and waterfalls, equals a lot of pressure. It still would have been a messy situation.
