- Hi My name is Karin from Extraordinary fitness. In this beginner and intermediate tutorial for aerial hoop/ lyra , we will look at different exercises to strengthen and achieve the straddle invert on aerial hoop.
Be sure to practice pole conditioning exercises such as knee tucks, knees-to-chest, and knees-to-shoulders, multiple times each week. These exercises will help you get your straddle, but also help you develop a stronger invert on the hoop/ Lyra in general.
Consistency is the key, so keep doing them regularly and add some more exercises if necessary.
Are you getting frustrated with aerials because you have all those goals and don't know how to reach them? There is a solution: check out my ebook which includes three different training programs for beginner and intermediate:

This is really helpful!
I am glad it helps you 🤗
Does it matter if your hands are holding forward or palms towards oneself? Idk if you said 😅ty!
When does the hoop stop hurting?
That is a great question. It depends I think on the move you are working on and often you can feel new moves on new places. But normally it gets better once you know the move. Until the next new trick😅🙏🥰
Thank you. I feel this Video will really help me improve my straddle positioning and some great conditioning tips for me to try, especially the floor ones as I don't have a hoop at home yet, which means I can keep working on my Aerial hoop goals without a hoop. 😊🩷
Glad it was helpful!
