I remember going to Toys R Us with my mom when I was little and finding this in the discount section! I absolutely loved it and played with it for hours. All of the details were so much fun. 😄
I never fully appreciated Toys R Us till it was gone.
I looked for so many reviews of this playset when I was younger and there were a couple but not as detailed and good of quality as this one. I love watching your videos cause I dont have the money to start a collection so it’s nice to be able to check yours out whenever I want.❤️

[7:00] The left side of the Emerald City is actually a salon! When Dorothy and her friends arrive there, they all get pampered with makeovers before meeting the Wizard. The top level is where the Scarecrow gets stuffed with new straw, the middle is where the Tin Man gets buffed and polished, and the bottom is where Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion get their hair styled.
This was one of my favorite toys as a child. I was pretty obsessed with the Wizard of Oz.
It’s on my bucket list to own this again. I don’t even remember where the one I had as a child went 😭😭😭

Also the triplets wearing pink on the sticker on the left side of the set are the Luluby league and the three little matching figures with lollypops are the lollipop guild, and the three rooms in the emerald city to the left are the rooms they got their makeovers in. Tin man got a forest polish, the scarecrow got new stuffing, the lion got groomed and a bow and Dorothy got a new hairstyle. I’m a wizard of oz nerd, I have loved it since i was a kid. Wore out many vhs copies of that movie from watching them on repeat.

i had this set as a kid and LOVED it but lost most of the character pieces, so it’s so great to see them all together!!
also, i believe the scenes on the left in emerald city are all from the makeover sequence- scarecrow getting restuffed, tin man getting polished, and dorothy getting her makeup done at the bottom

The things on the left side of the emerald city are a reference to a part of the movie where the four get done up for their meeting with the wizard. The scarecrow gets restuffed the tin man's is the middle he gets polished and the lions is the third they do his hair in that chair lol

The left side of Emerald City is where the tin man scarecrow and cowardly lion get cleaned up! Tin man get shined, Scarecrow get restuffed/ sewn and Lion gets a bath and hair brushed

I love this play-set! As a kid, I remember shining a light on the backside to light up the Emerald City. I still have it somewhere. I think I'm missing the Wizard.

I had this as a kid and then immediately thought about the witch trap door trick when I saw Wicked lol I was like !! They knew !! When in reality it’s just the design of the toy lol

OMG I WANTED THIS SO BAD!!!! I remember seeing it when I was little! I’m a guy but my grandma would get me Polly pocket sets. I’m sure this was too expensive but I wanted it soooo bad. I never had the larger sets.. only the clam shell style sets (both Polly and Disney sets)
I remember feeling the textures of this toy and the visual stimuli it’s was so fun even tho I don’t remember there being the dolls

The tin man had “rivets” on his chest. Divots are the chunks of grass golfers hit when they take a shot! 😝 this set is stunning!! One of my favourite movies of all time and reminds me of watching it as a kid. Thanks Kerchie for this showcase. I always look forward to your videos each week 🤗🤗

The part that you didn’t know about in the emerald city was the part in the song merry old land of oz right before the witch appears
The "Dining area" is just the place where they cleaned up the scarecrow tin man and lion

It's one of those movies I didn't appreciate as a kid because it's "old" but I love it now.
I have to say that "The Wiz" is my all time favorite version ive seen the other version but that one to me is just much more lively.
I also recall one with Queen Latifah that I saw a long time ago and the visuals were stunning!

so confused by why they chose to make glinda's orb red and the witches crystal ball white? I would have reversed.
Regardless, THIS SET!!!!! It is so incredible, the characters are so perfect. I love how they managed to get so much personality into them.
Also lol hearing someone describe this movie who isn't a stan is a treat 😂.
