- An unforgettable ski run starting at the top of the Lagazoli cablecar (2,275m) in the Dolomites, Italy. It is a stunning descent through awe-inspiring scenery overlooking the Fanes valley. At 8km in length you descend over 1km in altitude. This run has been officially classified as red but can be attempted by confident intermediate skiers. Highlights include a frozen waterfall in the mountain face and finishing the run by traversing a frozen lake by horse tow.
Cortina d’Ampezzo, and the Dolomites are undefeated the best place for Snowboarding so far, and I truly believe it does not get much better than that.
I did this in 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed but was not blessed with such beautiful weather as you had. It was overcast and closed in at the top of the mountain. Thanks for a great video showing what it’s like on a bluebird day.
Graeme, thank you for your lovely comment.
When I fid this run I started the day in canazei and skiied there, ate lunch at the peak, went down and got pulled by the horses at the end and skiieed back to my hotel in canazei. The runs were amazing and the scenery is unreal.
Beautiful - you really can't beat this ski run for fabulous scenery.
Thank's for your comment.

Thank's for your comment.
This is a truly stunning ski run. Great photography.
Thank's for your comment.
I have done this there and it was cool
Lovely video. I am hoping to do this run end of march but I'm a nervous blue run skier. How many steep sections were there?
I would sugest you need to be a confident skier to tackle this. It is 8 kilometers long and once you start the run there is no easy escape. It starts with a steep section about 200 metres long and then there are at least three other steep sections along the way. I am pleased to hear you enjoyed the video.

Thank you.
Where exactly is this run. I am going in January (if covid allows) and would love to do it
The ski run starts at the top of the Lagazoli cablecar. This is 17 km from Cortina d'Ampezzo and 12 Km from Val Badia, by car or public transport. For more info see lagazuoi.it/index_en.php
Dolimites super ski is fantastic area to be - this will be the first year in the last 3 or 4 I'll probably not be going because of the situation.
The hidden valley, in my mind is not worth the hassle.
Thank you for your feedback John. We must have been lucky because there was no hassle on the day we went. The queue for the cable car to the start was about 15 minutes. Once we got on the run it was fairly quiet. The horse tow at the end was a great experience but there is also the option to ride in a horse drawn carriage.
I disagree if it's not to busy it's truly an amazing run
