  • This video is sponsored by me! But also Stone Age Gamer rocks too! These guys are no stranger to the retro gaming scene they've been one of the (if not the only??) official US stores for the Everdrive products working directly with Krikzz in Ukraine to bring a complete package to the West! They also carry all the RetroTink products along with a lot of clone consoles like the Retron products from Hyperkin. Check them out if you haven't. But I didn't send you (no affiliate link OMG imagine sorry not sorry just Google it)

    Looks like two good, useful items there. I've toyed with the idea of getting Everdrives for GB and GBA. That's definitely a good thing for those who like to play on the original hardware. I do really like save states, though I wonder how well they work. Perhaps the GB Everdrive save states work really well. On my old Mega Everdrive, the save states can be spotty with some games working better than others. I picked up an XRGB-2 Plus way back in the day and that is also a line doubler. Every LCD TV I used it on handled 480p just fine, so that's a good way to go and it is fast as you point out. Enjoy the new toys!

    Damn those duty fees are brutal. I've been hit with those before as well. It really turns me off ordering from the US. Not only do we already pay insane shipping fees but on top of that duty fees...
    Cool items though! I never knew about the retrotink and it's exactly what I need! Dusted off some of my old collection with svideo hookups for a lot of the old consoles and didn't realize my modern tvs don't have svideo. Interested to see your review of it!

    I wil tell you a cool thing u can do, if you boot gamecube with swiss, you can force it to output 240p, then pump into that retrotink. you can also force proper non stretched widescreen too. Some games actually have data off screen you cant see, I am not sure how many dont work with the 16:9 swiss setitng, but when it works it is glorious. I was playing SCALER in true 16x9 and it was amazing, seeing farther. But the 240p output mode would be awesome for your setup. You can bur your own mini dvd for gamecube, or u can get SD2SP2 and put gamecube games on there, and booth with sd gecko memory sd adapter and an action replay.

      Oh yeah I've seen people do that it's a much sharper image than the stock Nintendo software for the GB Player.

    Great pickups there! I've always wanted an EverDrive-GB X7, but this year I've been getting into the EverDrive-GBA X5 Mini a lot because that's how I spend too much time playing Pokémon games and hacks (including randomized ones) while doing multiplayer Pokémon trading between the flashcart and my real cartridges with a GBA link cable or GBA Wireless Adapter to get mythical ones (Mew, Jirachi, Celebi). Also spent my playtime with Mario Kart: Super Circuit hacks and a few NES games as well.

    • @MN12BIRD

      I assume you can play GB/GBC games on the GBA with that?

    • @sabrinadeluxe1996
      @sabrinadeluxe1996 Před 3 lety

      @@MN12BIRD Yes. However... you need to download the Goomba Color emulator for GBA, and inside the ZIP file the goomba.gba file must be extracted twice before you rename 'em to gb.gba and gbc.gba and they must be stored on the microSDHC card's emu folder inside the GBASYS folder in order to play GB/GBC games on EverDrive-GBA X5 Mini. Not all games work well because there are emulation issues with a few such as Gex: Enter the Gecko and Perfect Dark.

      @@sabrinadeluxe1996 Okay same as my knock off GBA flashcart I always wondered if the Everdrive stuff handled that automatically somehow but I guess it's the same (requires Goomba)

    Hey we was talign the other day about your shitty scaler, reall awesome to see you got the good stuff now, the retrotink. Aweosme. The scart and compnent retrotink is the 5X, the brand nmew cadillac edition. but for S video and component and composiite, the 2x pro wil do it for alot less, just no scart.

    BRAH. u NEED SAVE STATTES. oNCE U HAVE THEM U WIL APPRECIATE SO MUCH. eVEN MORE IMPORTANT BECAUSE IT IS REAL HARDWARE, YOU HAVE SO MANY GAMES, BEING ABLE TO JUMP IN AN DJUMP OUT AL THE GAMES AND ALWAYS CONTINUE MAKES FOR SO MUCH OF A BETTER EXPERIENCE. fOR REAL. Do you wwant a small set of curated roms I painstakingly went through youtube videos for recomendations? i could zip it all up tiny and dropbox them to you.

    • @MN12BIRD
      @MN12BIRD  Před 3 lety

      I might hit you up for those but should be good. I have a zip file now that has thousands of games in it. Just the NA releases it's not counting cheats/patches it has 500 GB games and 500 GBC games. I'll keep an eye our for anything it's missing but it should have anything I would want for now.

    • @duhmez
      @duhmez Před 3 lety

      @@MN12BIRD I too have all the roms, but the nice thing abotu my rom pack is the curation. I went though hours and hours of sorting and wathcing best games and hidden gems videos and compiled tons of great recomendations. I duno about you, when I load up a an everdrive with all loaded roms it can be hard to find the good stuff. I have quesiton, though, does that one do gameboy color as wellm or just og gameboy?
