"World Burn" is the perfect villain song for Regina. I'm greatly anticipating seeing Renee Rapp fill Rachel McAdams' high heels, especially since she's had previous experience on Broadway.

@@caitlingill Watch the World Burn is one of my favorite Broadway songs ever, so it's easily the best song in this musical.
i think i'm the only one who really loves More Is Better, for me it really captures the change between nerdy Cady and plastic Cady, and the duet with Aaron is so well done! it's the moment where she confesses that she played dumb to get him and when she tells him to shut up and he says she's a clone of Regina it's just amazing.
i'm very disappointed that the song was cut from the movie, it's one of my favorites.

Tbh sucks that Aaron's actor in the film can't sing, this and Stupid With Love (Reprise) are so iconic
Yes! And it also shows how the real victim of Mean Girls was Aaron. He dated someone toxic, got manipulated to get back together with her, and she ended up cheating. Then he finally found a girl that he likes, but she ended up being just like his toxic ex girlfriend.

that's so real!! ngl, i think all the pretty songs get overshadowed by the power belts. songs like this one deserve so much more respect.
I was going to make the same comment. "More Is Better" is one of my favorites. I hate "Whose House is This?" and "Do This Thing" so I was excited about this list but "More Is Better" being #16 made it lose all credibility. "More Is Better" is one I play the most.
The new movie is so great, honestly Apex Predator, Sexy and I’d Rather Be Me are my favorite songs in the Broadway musical and I’m just glad they are in this movie
Finally someone who agrees with me on this 😭 I was so happy getting to see this new version of one of my favourite musical theatre productions on the big screen. Sure there were things that I certainly liked more in the original production, but I genuinely believe it to be a great movie, I loved watching it, and can’t wait to be able to stream it to relive it again.

@@ChicanoLA Honestly, I loved Stupid With Love in the movie too 😭 I don’t know if I could choose a favourite out of the two, but I do adore the new version too. I loved Angourie as Cady, she brought a softness to her. I loved her “What ifs” and the way she sang “I see stars” completely stole my heart. I will defend this movie with everything I have, honestly.
I'd Rather Be Me - It's so catchy and I love to sing to it every time it comes on my playlist.
The finale of I See Stars always makes me feel so pumped up and happy. It honestly makes me feel emotional and sometimes even get teared up at the very end when they all sing together! ❤️

Apex Predator should’ve been number one. That song is an absolute banger.
I agree with "I'd Rather be Me" and "World Burn" but "Apex Predator" should have been #3. I don't really like "Sexy" or "Stop" as much as everyone else does.

Apex Predator has always been a favorite of mine, but my true favorite I would say is I'd Rather Be Me. It has been one of my favorite power anthems for quite some time, and I remember singing this for a theatre showcase in high school.

A Cautionary Tale at 15????????? FIFTEEN????????
Tina Fey has single handedly caused a riot in the theatre community with the new movie 💀💀💀
I genuinely loved it, and I feel like some people in the theatre community would yell at me if I told them that- 😭
I haven’t seen it but I have heard the new arrangements and they felt to much like a pop song if that makes sense? Still not bad I mean they all have good vocals but as someone who was in a local production of the musical I was really unimpressed. But I mean everyone has opinions so that’s ok 👍
As a theater person who absolutely hated the movie, I do have my reasons how
1. Half of the cast can’t sing that well, especially the girl who plays candy
2. They change the songs to sound like some crappy shy pop like it doesn’t feel like musical theater
3. They got rid of a bunch of good songs.
4. It just feels really cheap and small.
5. They out right stole lines from the original movie with just worse actors an less funny delivery
6. They keep pausing for dialogue during the songs which just gets really annoying.
7. There is obvious auto tune on plenty of the songs.
8. There is way less time to actually appreciate the characters like we don’t get more scenes with the mean girls and it all feels very hollow
I could go on for hours, but those are the main things I hated
I genuinely don’t know why anyone would like this movie
@@goat.cheese_ I actually loved it, because it’s not like it took away from the original musical. I went back and in between the two soundtracks, enjoying both versions. Sure, I still prefer the original, but I loved being able to see a visual for the songs that isn’t a bootleg filmed on somebody’s iPhone 6, and as somebody who has no opportunities to see any theatrical productions in their country, it did mean a lot.
I understand why people wouldn’t like it. Personally “Sexy” went from one of my favourites in the musical, to my least favourite on the movie soundtrack, but there were many points in the new rendition that I replayed for HOURS.
To be fair, I am an easy to please person, and I often enjoy things more than others that way, but I really don’t understand how people say they absolutely hated it, because there had to be something they liked. It wasn’t a bad movie, really, if you just try to look at it as a new version that makes theatre more available for people around the world. It’s not like the movie came here to replace the original, because nothing really ever will, it just introduced a new version of it, one that gives another musical a new part to be enjoyed slightly differently again.
I guess there’s a chance I am just a really delusional person, and a disgrace to the theatre community, but I believe it was a good movie, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, despite having a few pointers for the things I wish were done differently.
At the end of the day everyone deserves their own opinion, so I can see why some people really disliked it, while I will stand by the fact I loved it.

Man! I have no idea what ranking I’d have! They’re all so fun and good!! My top three would probably be 1. World Burn 2. Someone Gets Hurt 3. Whose House Is This? I also love Apex Predator and the reprise of Someone Gets Hurt (mainly just for Regina George’s ending! 😂)
Okay, but the "Whose house is This" song has the same vibe as Heathers: The Musical's Big Fun, Be More Chill's Halloween and Phineas Ferb's Candace Party.
the movie musical did not do this show justice... the OBC is so much better!!! and this is the perfect ranking!!!

My high school did a production of mean girls the musical, I was fortunate enough to land the role of Kevin G so seeing BOTH of Kevin G’s major songs at the bottom hurts me
my favourites are I'd rather be me, world burn, apex predator and revenge party. A cautionary tale deserves to be higher on this list in my opinion.

I'd Rather Be Me might be my favorite song in the show. I'm currently in my school's production of Mean Girls and that song has gone from me not liking it as much to it being one of my favorites. Our Janis is one of the most talented and sweetest people I've ever met and being able to have fun on stage with her and the rest of the cast during that song is one of my favorite moments in the show.

It showed Karen's pure stupidity(?) really well.

It shares our all stupid mistakes. And shows that Karen seems she can't think and feel anything, but actually she get hurts like others.

It reproduced scenes of original film with important scripts. Of course melody is also great. Actually this song is the only one I like from the songs that Cady sings.

I love it, too, "You were so fearless -- whoa, oa..." I can see why they cut it though. It was supposed to be a song that leads to intermission but everything express is already felt in movie form and there's no reason to set up for an act two.

This is the worst list I’ve ever seen ever. Absolutely disgusting. I didn’t think someone choose a list THIS horrendous.
I absolutely HATE the line in "Sexy":
"I expect to run the world in shoes I cannot walk in"
This is blatantly misogynistic. I feel like if a man wrote that exact same line, more people would call it out. A lot of Mean Girls (as much as I love it) is anti-femininity or anti- girly girl. Tina Fey could learn from Legally Blonde or Barbie and see women can be pink, sexy, strong, independent and powerful at the same time.
Mean Girls is all about sterotypes. Practical footwear isn't something Karen values. She absolutely would wear shoes she can't walk in as long as she thinks she looks hot.
The whole message of the mean girl movie and musical is not to put,women (and pepole in general) against eachother,how could that be mysoginistic?
Don't you know the meaning of Irony?
She's saying she wants to conquer the world but in the meantime, is reduced to wearing shoes that are hard to walk in, to be sexy. It's the dichotomy of expectations of American women -- be smart but also be sexy.
