Can you ladies tell me if butter tabs will break a fast. When fasting for FAT.
Thankyou your fan Laura,
From Harv
I've been on the carnivore diet for 2 months, just got blood work back today, my cholesterol is normal. It's been really high for as long as I can remember. Thank you 😊
Chollesterol IS crucial in the hormone regulation, what is not good IS having high oxidized lvl and triglicerides
Excellent!
Is it OK to snack on popcorn?
That’s great!! I just started & really hoping I can get mine normalized.
@@StanleyParrishJr Not on a true carnivore diet. The only real snacks your supposed to have are cheese sticks and pork rinds.
Going carnivore saved me mentally, emotionally, & physically. I’m so grateful for content creators like you helping me with meal solutions when traveling. Love your podcast!
@Steven Brown It’s really tough the first time you shock your body, going from a standard American diet to carnivore. I know when I first went carnivore (January 2022) I felt AWFUL for the first 2 weeks. Trust me, if you can stick to it and power through, it gets better and you will feel amazing!!!
Steven, I realize this video is a little over a year old but I’m new to this channel 🤣 I’m just curious, did you stick with it and how long did it take to feel good?
10 months into carnivore...your videos have been a huge blessing on my journey. THANK YOU!
I would love to see a video of you two talking about feeding our growing kids!
Great info, addressing the common questions I always see, too.
I zip in and out of carnivore to keto, and it has done me no harm and some minor good, though I was 100% healthy to begin with, partly due to being low-carb for long stretches of the past 20+ years. (good blood sugar, trig. of 42-45, total cholesterol 170, a point high on hematocrit, but I live at elevation so don't fret that at all.) I do sleep a whole lot deeper/better on BBBE, and my minor stress incontinence is gone.(a sneeze about to come no longer worries me as it does most of my elderly woman friends.)
Another strange effect is when you eat really clean, you start to taste and possibly react badly to fake foods. I bought something called orange extract, to add to my occasional wedge of cream cheese, and it was gross, whatever the chemicals were in it. They had to be tiny-minute, but I simply cannot bear such tastes any longer. The brain says, "more real food like that rare steak, please."
A better choice would probably be a drop or two of HIGH quality orange/lemon/tangerine essential oil (like DoTerra). No fake chemicals. In fact, I think I'll try it!😋
Praying for your swift recovery- hugs from Hawaii 🌴🌺🌴
I love that you show us what we can eat at a restaurant. I love going out to different restaurants with my husband. Thank you!
I've just started watching you and this is maybe the 2nd video of yours and I love this video ladies!!! So informative, thank you.
Great video! Thank you to the both of you!
Great information ladies. It was fun to see you together. Laura, you are in my thoughts and prayers. The picture of your daughter & you after your surgery was dear. Take care. Sharman in Colorado ❄️
Absolutely love you guys! I've been following Judy for a little while and made the dive into your channel today and can't stop watching videos. It's now after 6am, I guess I should go to bed...
gosh I watch a lot of videos, just learning about carnivore and vegtables etc. and I have to say that both of you look so healthy and great, good job....
This was great thanks ladies. I have the poop issues and you have explained it really well. I’ll up my water and not worry about the occasional diarrhoea. Should settle down. I’ve been keto then carnivore for about three months. I had blood tests before and again last week. Dr very happy with my results even though I did not have really bad issues before.
Really enjoyed this video. You two work well together. Thank you both for your contributions in this space. It is certainly helping me navigate more successfully returning to an animal-based diet. 🙏
Hope your recovery is coming along smoothly!
Great video ladies.good to see you together. I hope you are both doing well
Great Vlog! I’m almost 8 yrs from weight loss surgery. I typically eat Keto to maintain my 120 loss but 7 weeks into Carnivore. I can’t fast as I can’t “refeed” as my capacity is only about 4 oz’s. I have only eaten steak once as it’s too heavy for me. Eggs, ground meat, chicken, bacon & cheese are it for me as well as at least 2 meals a day.
So thankful for this video!
Have you though of making the ‘Cutting against the grain’ podcast available in video format…. It adds so much to see you in person!!!
It was fun to see some of the sillier moments in this video. I’m thinking next time you are together you should do a vlog style video showing a more casual conversation or what you eat in a day. Let the true personalities shine! But great info as always and I’m grateful for both of you ladies for all that you do.
Another awesome video!!! Thank you both
So good to see you two together. You really are a good team
Great video ladies. Very helpful, thanks
Dynamic duo. Love it. Thanks
Oh my gosh! That's me! I was worried about my diarrhea, but this makes sense. Onward!
Love you both. Thank you for your advice
Great video! More videos on fertility/infertility, hormones, and carnivore would be great!
Great information;; thank you for sharing.
4+ Years carnivore, some good information here. I used to take a Barocca most mornings but have stopped 2 months ago, will continue to monitor and see how I go.
Oh my I love this video especially when you guys crack up! Laura says toward end..repeats after Judy "most people eat a plant based diet"?pause..Judy goes..well carb heavy...and then I almost cried laughing with you guys
Excellent, thank you
I just started using LMNT and loving the energy it gives me ! Plus it tastes wonderful especially the chocolate salt! I’ve noticed many Keto-carnivore people using this so I was curious to try and now I know why and the benefits r wonderful! So thanks for recommending this product !
Artificial sweeteners tells your hypothalamus in your brain to expect sugar therefore still spikes your insulin and are best avoided. Look it up yourself.
I agree. I just got my order and am loving them!
I hate stevia so I was hesitant to try the chocolate salted caramel, but I ordered it and use it with hot water and a little cream and I absolutely LOVE it!! I am a person who needs to stay on top of electrolytes or I’ll get leg cramps. It feels strange to actually look forward to a “supplement “ 🙂
Hi ladies…Laura, I just wanted to say that your skin looks amazing.
Hello there 👋, how are you doing today, happy new year.
We love watching your videos. Can you make a video of what your kids eat in a typical day? I’m struggling to get my 8yr old daughter on board. What do they eat for lunch at school? Any ideas for making carnivore based kids lunches to keep their interest?
I really like these 2 ladies 😁
Great video, you two.
Great info here
I went on carnivore to heal the opposite of constipation. Having to know where a bathroom is everywhere you go and hoping you make it. For over 20 years I was done in March I couldn’t do it anymore and started carnivore in April and within two days I was actually going to the bathroom like a regular person. I didn’t know such poop existed. The things that bother me are Mexican spices pepper and melted fats.
I have this exact issue. I started carnivore about three days ago and I am experiencing the symptoms of going carnivore but I feel like a changed person already. I couldn’t get in the car without having such anxiety and having to stop five minutes later for a bathroom. This is the first time I’ve ever felt great.
Great video ladies! I am starting carnivore again after a year.
I did carnivore for 2 months and had diarrhea every day and I stopped.
I'm ready to try again but hopefully not so much diarrhea!
Apparently your supposed to not drink water for an hour before or after your meat meal
That's what I've been doing and no diarrhea
How can I find a carnivore knowledgeable doctor? My husband and I are starting our 2nd month of carnivore and love it. Both lost about 12 pounds.
Incredible-love getting to know you Judy! 1 Peter 4:10,11!
I am here doibg carnivore cuz im always constipated ,and im glad that you take the topic , you get a subcriber today ,,,🙋🏻♀️🇲🇽
Great job duos 👍
Yay, double faves x
Hi Laura, After 2 weeks, I have suffered from severe dry mouth. Any advice would be highly appreciated
"Brain fart" while talking about peristalsis.. hilarious. Sorry really great info!!
As far as vitamin C I take it with my bovine collagen, but I honestly dont feel too weird if I stop taking it.
I take the things I do take every other day though because I worry about even Dr recommended supplements every day.
I never thought about the oxalate thing though, so probably for the best that I dont take that vitamin C daily, So glad I watched this!
Can you add garlic and hot peppers for seasoning?
Laura, you've been carnivore for a long time, how do you keep from losing more weight? You look amazing!! 💚
Thoughts on daily tablespoon of fermented cabbage for probiotics while on carnivore diet?
I just decided to come off Statins after 3 months. They were horrible. I had 14 different terrible side effects. I went to my doctor not for permission but to find out if I could come off them immediately safely.
I was on HBP meds for 23 years. I quit cold turkey. I had a headache for 5 days after stopping, then I was fine. I feel fine and I’m saving $10,400 a year not taking those 2 meds. Big pharma is poison. ❤
Those who do not have a gallbladder…. Been recommended that our “fat” intake be spread out per Dr. Ken Berry. Hope this helps in case someone is wanting to know. ❤
How do you spread it out?
@@HeroC14eat two or three smaller meals per day instead of only one or two big meals. That way your fat consumption is still the same but taken in smaller chunks in each sitting.
@@CarnivorePatriot Lol I thought it would be a more technical answer, I already do this.
I don't have a gallbladder and I do well taking ox bile and digestive enzymes. Still wouldn't recommend eating excessive fat though, some people doing carnivore are taking it to the extreme (like eating sticks of just butter).
Judy, what about milk for hormones? Can you address milk, please, in a future video? Thank you for all you share.🤍
I've been on the carnivore diet for 6 weeks now. I've lost 20 pounds and feel so much better than I used to. The last few days, I've been having some pretty bad muscle cramps and spasms in my legs. I eat a bunch of salt and have been taking 800mg of magnesium, two 99mg potassium pills, and a one a day vitamin for men, and have been drinking two packs of LMNT daily. I drink at least a gallon of water every day. Am I doing something wrong, or do I need to add something that will help? Thank you, and have a great day!
I’d like to you two discuss edema and hypothyroidism on carnivore. I’m only on day 9 but haven’t lost any water weight. Help
Hey Laura, thank you for your guidance on keto. I have been on keto for just over a year, and I have lost quite a bit of hair, just on my scalp. I fast most days, eat about 2 meals a day on average when I'm hungry. I eat loads of beef and eggs. Not sure if this is stress related as I have alot going on, or due to the eating plan? If you could let me know what you think?
@Jennie Adams Thank you Jennie! I have curly hair and it takes forever to grow... I will keep the faith 🤣
How are you feeling Laura?
I have had weight loss surgery. Gastric sleeve. Would I be able to use the Carinvore diet?
I take vitamin D in the winter.
I am a 60 year old women and I have been doing carnivore for about a month and only lost 5 pound not sure if I am eating enough or to much I need do help please
Thanks for this info. I really believe you've answered alot of questions. However..I am 66 years old. Can you tell me 1. Is this a good way of eating for seniors and 2. As a menopausal woman will I gain weight doing this?
Hi, thank you for this video. I have a question. I am carnivore around 2months, not 100%, because i do drink some wine on a weekend, but no vegetables, i had 2 oranges tho (not a big deal i know). Ididnt experience any flue coming in, or diarhea or nothing. Only last week i had put cut-up garlic in my ground beef, i wanted to try, if i miss it or not. But i had explosive diarhea like 2hours after that meal. Is it because of that garlic? Or might it be that i ate those burgers piping hot, fried in pork fat? Cuz i hear hot fat can do that, but i eat that all the time, and im fine, so only when i tried the garlic it was bad....any one has an idea? Thx a lot
I think people are thinking that because they don’t poop everyday, they are constipated. As a carnivore, I don’t poop everyday because my body doesn’t have all the fiber to get rid of. If you don’t have discomfort, bloat, or pain, then you probably aren’t constipated. There is just less waste to get rid of.
Perhaps an odd question: how do you clean up the grease created when cooking meats? I don't personally have an issue but many in my local carnivore group do...what's your preferred method for kitchen grease clean-up?
Beth here...the blue Dawn dish soap is amazing when it comes to grease. I save any jars that end up in my house and drain any excess grease into the jar and when it's full just throw in the trash and start a new jar. I agree though, the ONLY issue I have with this WOE is the large amount of grease I have to constantly clean up! 😁
I have been constipated all my life and I am starting a CD diet. So I am very concerned about poop!
I know this video is almost a yr old, but I was wondering if i need to continue taking my supplements. I had weight loss surgery in 2014, and my Dr said I would have to take vitamins for the rest of my life.
I use LMNT to salt my steaks. Tastes good
I have been out of the loop for a while and I cant find an answer....why did the cutting against the grain podcast stop?
Unfortunately Judy's book is not available in print form in Canada. I wonder what she thinks about someone getting all of the nutrition they need from low mercury seafood such as sardines, salmon, herring, and oysters? Is it possible in her opinion?
I'm not sure about Judy's thoughts on this, but I do know that Dr. Berry thinks that's fine, and in fact thinks there's probably a small part of the population that would do better eating only seafood.
@@HappilyCarnivore Thanks, Shannon. I should have included eggs as well. It's good to know there are options!
What about eating Fresh Onions and Tomatoes as the only veggies on the carnivore diet?
The woman in blue would look so much pretty and young if she’d cut her hair to the shoulders or so. Great video, both!
How do you maintain your weight when you have gotten to your desired weight on carnivore and don't want to lose more?
Having issues with nausea. I'm starting wk 5 on carnivore. I had it on wk 3 after having 2 amazing weeks where carnivore seemed to be answered prayer, no hunger pangs, butter in coffee instead of cream. Able to quit stevia. Digestion smoothed out. Had a stress week the nauseà began which could have been dehydration, forgetting to add fats..but 2 wks later, life is calm and the nausea came back and after a week, I started eating toast, then pbj sandwich, then french toast. I do feel a little better, but know that I've now got to fast to let things settle out. Maybe time for a fat fast?
If you are getting nausea try digestive enzymes.
My goodness, you're so gorgeous Laura, take care of yourself!
How much butter should I eat a day
I take a lot of medications. Is Carnivore still good? I keep wondering about fasting also. Is there a general answer to if this is still good with medications.
There is a magnesium capsule online called magnesium complex.
Are used to go five and 6+ times a day. That’s what keto did for me. Yes I lost weight on keto but it did not heal my lower G.I. Now I go twice and I’m done. I’m always afraid in public that I have to go because that’s what I’ve done for over 20 years
I’ve had problem with chronic diarrhea. Before conivore I’m hoping it’s goes away
What digestive enzymes would help with the diarrhea? I had gastric bypass 13 years ago and carnivore 2 months and still struggling with loose stools.
I'm 6 months post bypass and considering going carnivore. I have no gallbladder. I'm glad to know there are more folks doing this way of eating following bypass. I'm suffering from constipation currently.
How do you stop with sweet food cravings?
Is it ok to drink the LMNT drink (flavored) when you're on carnivore?
10:30 constipation. 11:40 solutions. 14:55 what is constipation... 17:08 lol - scary animal = boss ....
Hi, love. you Laura. If you can, would you address the lack of potassium from the carnivore lifestyle? I added veggies to make up for this a little, but it sounds like fiber isn't so necessary, so how do I get more potassium?
@waterwoman4799, there's potassium citrate products out there you can use. I use a powdered form that I buy in bulk. That way I can tailor the amount based on my need. It took some trial and error to find the right amount I need to take daily, but it has helped me overcome the leg cramps at night and is much less expensive than the brands touted such as LMNT. Just a thought.
I had diarrhea, but I had gut issues when I started. I was still being treated for this and my doctor is helping me figure out my issues. I’m now on and anti fungal for some yeast issues and anti histamines which has helped a lot. I needed find out what was causing my issue and I think we finally did. My yeast issue have been causing food sensitivities so I have found through going mostly carnivore that I’m sensitive to beef and pork, so right now I’m eating mostly chicken thighs and wings. Now I’m having more normal bowel movements 😍 also I have psoriasis and it has pretty much cleared up and I just started the end of sept. Now hoping my food sensitivities and histamine issues get better. I just had blood test done and my over all cholesterol is high but my good cholesterol is high, so this doctor thinks it’s because of the changes of my diet. But now my thyroid is low (I only have half my thyroid) they removed a lump I had years ago. So I see my other doctor about that tomorrow. Thank you for sharing this video!
look up yt ch Eric Bakker Naturopath vids on candida (he is a gut expert and his vids are excellent)
*his channel name just changed but, just do a serach on yt for his name with candida.
take care.
ps watch his vids on raw sauerkraut and kefir
Wow it’s nice to see someone else who is sensitive to beef it’s rare to find anyone who can’t tolerate beef. I eat beef and gets so constipated no matter how many digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid I take. I mean literally doubled over cramping the next day it’s just horrible. I do have histamine problems I don’t know if that has anything to do with it I have a lot of food Sensitivities.
@@jansmith3158 Sauerkraut is high in histamines which is a big bummer for us who are having huge histamine problems
@@lindapelle8738 good to know. thank you. There are other veggies that you can ferment. Happy New years.
I have osteoporosis is going Carnivore ok for people who have osteoporosis?
How many times a day do you eat? OMAD 2Mad 🤷🏻♀
I have stopped worrying about how often the poop comes, but it continues to be lumpy and hard. I am doing electrolytes, salting food, eating lots (at least, I think) of animal fat and butter. So maybe less cheese/other dairy besides butter? Thanks!
It’s not good if it comes out lumpy and hard have to keep things moving normally and smoothly
I have seen on other consvore videos about that and you need to eat more fat.
Boron, folate, vitamin d deficiency. Sulfur and copper borderline. Blood and hair analysis.
@Lauraspath
How about constipation in carnivore kids??
Ok. I just started 12 days ago. I think I might be eating too much protein. I'm 59 years old, 5 ft. Tall and weigh 170lbs. I want to be 120 -125lbs. Does this mean I should only eat 120 grams of protein per day? So 4 oz of meat permeal if I eat 3x a day? Please HELP me figure this out. I'm type 2 diabetic and want to do this right.
I'm considering trying this diet, and was wondering if gout is a concern. My grandfather was predisposed to getting gout, so it might be hereditary. This concern is the one thing holding me back from trying a full carnivore protocol. Any advice?
Gout is a risk. This may not be the best diet for YOU.
@@BestLifeMD thank you for being transparent and responsible. I will approach with caution
I am not constipated (no pusjing) but I don't go every day, is that ok?
I started carnivor 11 days ago ( done keto in past). Although I love how calm my gut/liver feels there are two things I do not like and understand:
1. I wake up in the night because of acid reflux 😖
2. I am gaining weight instead of losing weight ( have around 15 kg to lose)
Any ideas on this?🤷♀️
Thanks in advance 🌷
I would love to see the answer here.
I can only address #1 - but have you tried taking betaine HCL? If your reflux is due to lack of stomach acid this will help (this is actually a thing - people always assume it means too much but it's usually not the case). If you take it and it causes burning you could have other issues like an ulcer, but if you are like me and was subjected to years of PPIs your stomach is likely quite alkaline which means it's not going to break your food down as well. I highly recommend betaine with pepsin, it has worked out great for me and no more PPIs which caused nutritional deficiencies I am now trying to fix!
P.S. Actually about #2 Judy has a really good video not that long ago on her channel about macros and that may help your weight stall. Check it out!
@@therealjenniferrrjust saw your response by incidence! Thank you 🌷
So.....if you have diarrhea and bad stomach pains with high fat/low carb, you should just endure that for 2 weeks?
As always I love yr videos & learn so much from you, but please do something about the bad sound….you probably need a better microphone to get rid of the cavernous sound effect. Congratulations on your surgery & can’t wait to see the outcome (already saw the “short”-WOW!!!). Dec. 31 completes my own first year on carnivore! It’s been amazing & I have great results (improved body composition & lost nearly all my menopausal weight gain). All along you were one of my main sources of inspiration & practical day-to-day empowerment & learning. Love Judy too.
I played the video on PC and it sounded great.
Day 4 omad carnivore now and I'm not liking all this yellow water coming out my butt..I'm gonna try to fast longer. I was doing 12 hours but I'm gonna try 16:8. My blood pressure is amazing before I took my pharmaceuticals this morning. I'm down another pound but I'm sure that's water. I have tons of energy but I can't get far from the toilet lol
I eat a few vegetables with my meat and I have to drink Calm magnesium most nights to keep bowels working. Is there are reason to not use Calm regularly?
I don’t tolerate the acid because I have interstitial cystitis, that they put in Calm. If you were anyone knows of a way to get the same Ingredients and calm aside from citric acid please let me know thank you people seem to really love it or sleep and constipation
@@lindapelle8738 I think it's just magnesium which comes in other forms. But I haven't noticed magnesium pills having any laxative effect. I've heard eating more fat helps.
I've been Carnivore for 6 mos - coming from keto for the prior 2 yrs. I don't have a gallbladder...I began with ox bile & lipase digestive aids. Now I take lipase only, because I began having gerd when I was taking ox bile - but I still get slight acid reflux sometime... what could I do.
I take betaine HCL for reflux. If it burns you could have an ulcer, otherwise if you take it for a week or so and it seems to be helping it might be your answer also (just means you need to acidify your stomach to help break down food). Has worked great for me! I also take digestive enzymes and ox bile.
@@therealjenniferrr What type of digestive enzymes work for you?
@@loriegreen8840 I like "Pure Encapsulations Pancreatic Enzyme Formula" - it has lipase, protease, and amylase. 2 of those I was tested very low in (the other one wasn't tested). If you look at AMZ reviews the people state it seems to work just as well as the prescription that is similar, but WAAAYYY cheaper! I think my poor pancreas is just not sufficient so I am helping it by providing my body with the enzymes I need to break down my food. Between those 3 pills though, most of my poor digestive signs have disappeared (bloating, burping, gas, abdominal pain, etc.). You might not need all, but experimenting and seeing what works for you could be helpful!
@@loriegreen8840 please note pork is used in the finished product, in case you have an allergy or other reason why you would not consume pork. "porcine"
@@therealjenniferrr Thank you!
