- Hey guys! In this video I show you how I neatly keep both of my bikes in my new bedroom.
The Kona is stored vertically on the wall, and the Brompton fits inside of a pretty cool IKEA cabinet.
I hope you find this video entertaining! Thanks for watching, and see you on the next one!

Neatly storing my two bikes in the bedroom | Brompton and Kona Sutra
If you’ve been following this channel, you know that last week I moved most of my belongings to a new apartment, and I did that by bike. Of course, I had to do multiple trips back and forth, and some of them were easier and less challenging than others. In the end, I was able to safely move most of my stuff, but it wasn’t all. One week later, I moved the rest, and that includes both of my bikes.
With all of my stuff now in the new apartment, it was time to organize everything in my bedroom. That includes assembling some of the furniture that was still in their boxes, such as my chair and my dresser, and then organizing my room, reassembling the piano, storing my clothes, organizing my college material and camera gear on the right places and, finally, finding the best place to store the bikes.
To help moving the bikes around the bedroom and to avoid touching the walls with dirty tires, I decided to wrap the wheels in PVC film. This would make it easier to experiment with the position of the bike without causing damage or staining the walls or carpet. I could, for example, experiment with the height I want the bike to be at, and things like that.
As for the mounting bracket, I went online and bought a cheap vertical wall mount for the bike. I chose this one from Delta Cycle, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to do a decent job.
Installing it on the wall included finding a stud, choosing a good height, drilling holes, and finally screwing the mount into place. The installation was smooth and easy, and I think the result looks pretty awesome. The mount is discrete, and this particular model has a rear wheel plate, which is something I was looking for, to keep the wall nice and clean underneath both wheels.
With the Kona in place, I started assembling the cabinet for the Brompton. As expected, with the cabinet properly assembled, I was able to fit the Brompton inside.
Now that I’m completely settled in this new place, I promise I won’t be making any more videos about this. But I appreciate you coming along. Thanks for helping me move my stuff, settling in the new apartment and sticking around on the channel. If you enjoyed this video and you’re not yet subscribed, well… I hope you come back one day. For all of you, thank you for watching, and see you on the next one. - Sport
Stud finding tip for those who haven't done something like this before: get yourself a "rare earth" magnet. The magnet will stick to the wall in the area over the screws that hold the drywall to the stud. When you find a screw, make a pencil mark and look for more screws along that vertical axis.
As for the holes from the shelves in your brompton cubby, you could buy some crayons of a color you like, melt the wax with a heat gun, and fill the holes. Check out FourEyes furniture for his melted crayon river table for tips.
Thanks for the tips Harry! I will definitely look into the crayon solution!
I feel very privileged to have shared the move with you Victor. Your bikes, piano and guitar all look completely at home in the new apartment - I trust you are too?! Thank you, as always, for the video - your channel is very much appreciated here in the North of England. Kind regards, Richard.
I appreciate you being around the channel since the beginning Richard! I feel more at home now than at the previous apartment, so it feels pretty nice!
Awesome
Hello Victor, you did a great job. The room look great and everything has a place. Love it. have a great week see you on your next video.
Thank you for watching and always being around the channel! See you too!
Wow!that was really cool!!i like the way u store your Brompton in that cute neat box cupboard!it looks like a display from the bicycle shop!👍🏼😍and the other bike i was thinking to hang it from the ceiling!!i know its crazy but i personally like unique stuff!!hope you enjoy ur new crib!!thank you for sharing ur video!it is relaxing to watch!👍🏼😊🇬🇧
Thank you for the brilliant idea. I love the ikea cabinet which makes the whole setup so tidy and neat. Awesome!
Nicely done , very neat in a compact room 🇬🇧
It really is! Thanks Phill!
Glad you're all settled to your new place. I also moved to a new flat last week. Thank you for giving me an idea on where to keep my Brompton. The bike does not take much space so I can just keep it anywhere really, but the Ikea cabinet is more aesthetically pleasing!
The cabinet is something I wouldn't buy for the Brompton, but since it was a gift, it was very welcome! I definitely like how it looks!
I love this kind of videos! Keep it up! More love from the Philippines ❤️👌
More to come! Thanks for being around the channel!
Thank you victor very entertaining you done it again God bless
Love it! Really great ideas for bike storage. I may get a wee cabinet for my Brompton now!
Go for it!
Great storage idea for both bikes, handy and also stylish 👍🏻
Thank you!!
Like the Delta mount and self for the Brompton. Appreciate the fact that they are inside!
It looks nice and does the job!
Brooks saddle. Great choice. I have one on my Brompton too. Super comfy.
It really is! I have them on all my bikes
Great idea on storing your two bicycles. Your room looks great! Appears your move went very successful. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, the moving went very smoothly indeed. Thank you for always being around here!
another video, intelligent, practical, and well explained, greetings 😊
Great storage idea for your Brompton. I just got mine last month and discovered that it will fit into my lower kitchen cabinet!
That is awesome!
Man, you are sooooo cool! 😎
I saw your previous flat moving video, and wondered if you were gonna do a follow-up.
Nice place, and love your minimalism!
cool video..thanks for sharing
Great job Victor!

Thank you Tony!
Nice set up!! Especially the Brompton box
I'm glad you liked it!
@@EverydayCycling i messaged you some months ago on your thorough Brompton review video. I mentioned that i was going to start city touring with my Brommy. Well, i have just completed the 60 mile round trip ride on the Monon Bike Trail in Indianapolis. The Brommy was a champ. No issues with the bike at all. Next city will be Tuscon next January!! Happy Trails!!
Very nice tidy job Victor, it’s been great tagging along with your move! Our Brommies also reside in Ikea units, although they are called Kallax over here and we went for the full height unit to store the rest of our cycling gear with the bikes... 👍🏻 😉
The Kallax looks really good for the Bromptons! Thanks for watching, Rog.
Lovely videos! Production/editing quality is great. I hope to get a Brompton as a graduation present for myself when I "get out" of gatech.
You should! Thanks Diana!
Awesome video and have become a huge fan of it.
Glad to hear it! Thanks Andy!
Everyday Cycling you’re welcome and keep up the great work.
learnt something. Thnx :)
Glad to hear that!
Kona in the wardrobe and curtain across the Brompton!
Ahaha the closet is my audio recording booth, can't fit a bike in there. ahah
Congrats bro. Love ur new box for the Brompton....i missed my uni years....ur room almost look like mine last time....just that last time me don’t have Brompton while studying ...hahaha
Thanks for sharing! I guess students kinda have the same room. ahaha
Going through and giving each of your videos a view since I really appreciated your Brompton specific content.
I noticed you had some bottle caps collected up, I thought you could stick those over the holes in the cabinet since you had plenty of space to fit the Brompton in without knocking them back off :-) I have a stack of little magnets I bought from Harbor Freight and I stick really good beer caps on those on my fridge as decoration 😉 function and form
You really have set up a nice room for yourself. Where has the carpet gone? Living with bikes is possible!
The rug is now in the living room!
Victor, adorei a ideia do pvc nos pneus!
A Brompton ficou show, muito lindo!
Vamos ver!
Nice work. Funnily enough I was considering the EKET for the Brompton I ordered last weekend! Looks great. :-)
I like it! I do want to cover those holes eventually, even though I already got used to them haha
I like it! I do want to cover those holes eventually, even though I already got used to them haha
Ikea gave us the dimpa, now the eket. I think someone for Brompton is working inside Ikea...
01:35 If your friends gave you something unassembled from IKEA, they are not your friends.
good content dooood
haha thanks!!
We're waiting for your new videos.
Muito legal esse box para por a Brompton. Tô procurando aqui tb para ajeitar as duas "crianças".
Os ganchos pra parede são beeem bacanas também!
@@EverydayCycling sim , tenho tb.
I spot tiger balm :D
Keeps me going ahaha
Hello, any thoughts on posting a your review of the Kona?
Wow great idea , by the way which company is the green bike ? Can you make a detailed review about it also?
That's a Kona. I will definitely cover it in a future video!
One idea that recurs, in my case, is a post that clamps between floor & ceiling... last time I tried it was for a "cat tree"... the idea being no fasteners, and no marring... just a thought for you if you decide to look for something different...
Thanks for the idea. I might have seen something like this while researching for the mount.
Do you think these are too tight for the Brompton to remove and put in place? The Ikea Kallax seems to be a little more spacious. Did you look at other Ikea options? This looks nice but not a lot of spare space to move the bike without scratching the furniture.
😅bike hauling bike ❤
Idea: Use tape with color (white?) and make a "cross" inside the red box as a decorative element to hide the 4 holes.
Teremos uma ciclo viagem pelos EUA?
What is the stitched leather on the main frame? Is it just to aid grip when carrying?
That's just aesthetic, but it helps protect the under side of the tube when the bike is folded up.
wow same here, i live in apartment too. but because my room is only 220 Squarefeet, my roadbike has to be stand beside the wall. It is imposibble to mount like that :(
Mine is 170 ft², but I guess it also depends on the furniture you have and the shape of the room
Is your bathroom outside ?
What's the model code ?
What Is the measure of your room?
Rotate the Brompton shelf
You mean because of the holes? There are holes on all four sides of the cabinet...
@@EverydayCycling ahhh my bad
I'm glad I don't live in a room
