When you are over 50 you can look back on this and be proud. Well done!!
Thanks a lot Henry. We are still pretty proud even now haha. Thanks for watching
Great job. I don't watch TV anymore, and I completely missed the modern era of binge watching TV, but I binged on this. Then I went and got out my old maps, largely forgotten trips from years ago, and started trying to put a few of those pieces together. The crow river. It's been a small number of decades since I last thought about that place on earth. It never occurred to me at the time to make much of a record of the trips, other than a few snapshots I don't have much, so I'm recalling them vicariously now through these videos. I can't begin to describe the memories they inspired. Cheers!
One of the most interesting paddling trips I've viewed on YT. You guys never seemed to get discouraged with the endless challenges. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the kind words Grant. We work really well together as a team on these trips. When one of us hits a low, the other is pretty good at turning them around. We just always hope the lows don't come at the same time...sometimes the camera can help too. Knowing that this is difficult now and by getting the shot you will always have the memory to laugh at later. Cheers
Well Done !! Congrats, you have joined an Elite group. Noah....on the oats thing, I am with ya, I have been eating something similar. Travels well, tastes great (I think) most of all healthy. In a ziplock 1 cup quaker quick oats, 1 teaspoon cocoa powder, 15 almonds, about 20 rasins, about 15 dried cranberries, and a few shakes of cinnamon. At home I eat it with Almond milk...of course lake water on trip. I love it. I have added dried maple syrup flakes from the bulk store. Thanks for sharing these vids.. well done. Hopefully see you on the water next year !!
It works great for Noah haha (note he also eats this for breakfast everyday at home....). I on the other hand need to bring the sugary quaker oats to break up the breakfasts. I think it is just the protein powder that makes it so cement-like. Your recipe sounds pretty good! Cheers and thanks for watching
Watched all segments. My favourite park. You guys made it look so easy. Did a similar interior canoe trip when I was your age in the early 70's. Brings back alot of memories. Thanks for videos.
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching
I like the way you keep viewers informed where you are. I like to follow on a map.
Congrats and Respect! Algonquin park is my favorite place to be. You guys pushed hard and raised money for a great cause. Hats off.
Cheers thanks Brandon
Oh boy. You literally made me cry with this last video. Always brings up all these wonderful memories that I got back in 2009. I am always amazed watching your videos. Cheers from Germany!
Thanks for the kind words Dominik! Glad to hear that you enjoyed the series
Awesome trip and video. Much more entertaining than anything on Netflix. Can't wait to see what's in store for your next adventure.
Thanks for watching!
You guys should make a cookbook with all your favourite tripping recipes! I’d buy a copy…
Nice hideous Alex. I should have mentioned that after watching the Labrador fun? Nice work and always a nice smile.
Awesome trip guys and great video footage. I really enjoyed the series... Dennis, Canoehound Adventures
All utube channels and videos aside this quite the accomplishment WOW!!!! How do you compare quite the achievement.
Finally had time to watch the series in its entirety. Nice job guys! Well done.
Thanks man, I think you would enjoy this one ;)
What a great trip guys! Thanks for sharing your journey - you always inspire me with your grit and determination.
Nothing like a misty Algonquin morning! Beautiful scenery. Congratulations guys!
Well done... now that's a trip of a lifetime!!
It sure felt like it! Thanks for watching
As a great singer & poet from Montreal Once said; Halelulla!. Thanks for bringing me along. Brian 78
Love this! Me and 3 others did this stretch this summer and had an amazing time. We had rain almost every day, and got caught by about 13 beaver dams on the Madawaska. Thanks for recording and taking me down memory lane! You guys killed it!
Most amazing trip. Great scenery. Great job.
Absolutely amazing, what a test of endurance...great video it just doesn't get any better!
What a trip! Unbelievable time v. distance too, seriously. Great call on spending the extra night in the woods - the trips are always over too soon.
Really great series guys!
It was either camp at the take out (Algonquin Outfitters) and complete in 9 days or spend one last night a little more remote and paddle out first thing in the morning. Also cool because when we got to that final site we were able to get cell service and someone had sent us a message saying the fire ban had been lifted. We don't usually check for cell service on a trip but with all the rain we were curious if we could have a fire haha. Thanks for watching!
@@NorthernScavenger Too funny - I started a trip in the north-west corner of AP the day after the ban was lifted. I felt like fire-ban Santa telling everyone along the way the ban had finally been lifted. One group was on their last day of a two week trip and I never heard cheering so loud - they were so happy to close out their adventure with a fire!
Curious - the upper site right at the top at Gravel Falls is one of my favorite sites in Ontario - what make you guys pass it up for the lower site?
Impressed as to how hard you pushed yourselves. Now I want to enjoy your more laid back trips so that I don’t feel exhausted after watching one of your videos.
Nicely done gentleman. Loved watching the videos. Congratulations.
Well done guys. A story for your grandkids...
Thanks Larry!
What an amazing accomplishment...you should both be proud, so glad you shared your journey with everyone.
Thanks for watching Ian! It was really cool to push our bodies and see what we could handle
You guys are rock stars. Loved following the series and proud to say I know you. Even more proud of you guys because this trip was about more than your own accomplishments..... Bravo!
Awesome series guys. Definitely gonna put the meanest link on my to do list
It is a really cool route! Get to see some of the most remote and populated areas of Algonquin.
Nice to see you guys together again. Well done! 👍
Great Trip..Great Content..
You have inspired me to do this same route
That is great to hear! Glad you enjoyed the series and best of luck on the trip!
Great trip for a great cause guys! Thanks for bringing us along!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed!
Well done boys... epic trip... I bet you wanted to go straight back around and do it again :) ATB.....
You guys are tough... but too much portage. I would love to see you two do a trip in Quetico. More civilized than some of your trips but you deserve some luxury with your wilderness.
Here i am thinking this would be a "link" between two places then you guys paddle/portage over 400km all around Ontario, yo guys are crazy!!! good job!!!! im inspired.
Epic Trip-that would be awesome-maybe one day for me-love the look and feel of Canada
We are lucky to have such an amazing place to go tripping so close to home
Well done fellas, it's a shame circumstances gave you such a crushing schedule!
Definitely would have been nice to slow things down a but on this one
Great series Alex and Noah, thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Jeremy. Glad you enjoyed the series!
So good. Algonquin's beauty is difficult to describe but this series really did it some justice!
Well done... You guys are crazy good..
Wow what an awesome trip.
Great segment, well done...love watching!....Can't say much about running into a beaver...eh? ...Martin G love the Oats!
It was such a fluky thing to happen! Kinda cool in a way! Hopefully the beaver thought the same thing haha
Great video. You guys had a blast and it was awesome to watch this series. Do it again next summer ;)
We typically only like to do a route once anyways so because of this likely not again. This is really the only reason though.. ;)
Well it seemed an awesome trip you had. Was fun to watch
Huge congrats guys - what an amazing accomplishment!! Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks for watching Chris!
The real question is, when are Chris and Julia going to do the Meanest Link? Did you realize the first group to do the "Full Link" were a group of 4 women!
Excellent series! I love those challenging routes.
Just an awesome series of videos!
I love your guys videos i was hooked after part 1 and now here i am part 4. You make me miss being up in Algonquin lol. Thanks for the videos keep posting new videos
Thanks for watching! Glad to hear you enjoyed the series, and hopefully it pushes you to get back into the park again. Cheers
Great video's Noah and Alex, thanks very much for sharing your experiences, you have a beautiful country in Canada, i look forward to visiting when i retire in three years time, all the very best to you both, from New Zealand
Great trip guys. I enjoy your enthusiasm
Awesome series guys! I purposely saved watching this for the depths of winter when canoe season seems a lifetime away. I don't know if that was a good idea or not lol because all I want to do now is go canoeing! You guys rock
Wow guys, what an accomplishment. So glad to get a glimpse into the adventure you two had, keep up the great work!
Huge accomplishment guys! Love how you casually told us about Opeongo and then cut to the dock, but that's like a 4 hour paddle at least for such a huge lake, then you did a lot more distance the same day. Well done!
Haha each one of our days felt like 2 of our old tripping days. We would have 20-30km done by around 12 or 1pm and then have lunch and start getting excited about the next 20-30 that we would have left to do..Thanks for watching!
Epic trip guys, really enjoy your videos...always an experience with loads of fun...cheers!
This is awesome to see because I go to camp pathfinder and remember seeing two guys pull up while I was camping with a buddy and they said they were doing the meanest link. Really enjoy the series, great job!
Way to finish strong boys. 10 days is a good haul. Alex if you are ever in the Hamilton area I would love to go over the route you took. Cheers, John
I will definitely let you know. I actually live in Palmer Rapids now (45 minutes north east of Bancroft) - let me know if you are ever up in the area and I will do the same when I head back to Toronto. Failing that, happy to jump on a call sometime. Cheers!
Epic trip and videos! Thanks for taking the time (and weight) to film it. Congrats on the accomplishment, definitely a high mark on your paddling resumes.
Great job fellas! Am planning to do the north next year so nice to get a taste through your videos. Nice looking logo too.
Brilliant trip. Very cool. Thanks for sharing with us. :)
Thanks for watching!
Excellent job! What a great trip!
Love these guys!!!!
Really enjoyed following your trip. Thanks for sharing it !
Thanks for watching! Glad to hear you enjoyed the series
Wow, 10 awesome days.
Thanks again great video hopefully I get to see thunder this episode, I’m excited to see it for the first time soon
Awesome! Totally awesome!
I'm impressed that you managed to get the video that you did while on such an ambitious trip. Good job!
Thank you for appreciating that haha. The very first portage we debated leaving the canon camera at the first Algonquin Outfitters location because it added so much extra weight to our portages. We were daunting the 100 or so portages we still had left to do with it haha
Great tip guys and quite the accomplishment. Thanks for the bushwhacker oats recipe :)
Nate
great trip, thanks for sharing
Awesome job guys! So, if you could get those 10 days of summer back, would you still pick this route? Epic trip but so little leisure time!
It is a great question Jon! This was a different type of trip for us. We typically like to paddle 20km a day allowing lots of time for fishing and exploring. We were really interested to push our bodies in a new way and find out what our limitations were. This route is iconic and we are so happy to have done it. We went from some of the most remote areas in the park to some of the most popular. Those popular lakes we likely would have never planned a trip on but we were happy to check them off all in one massive adventure. That being said we likely would not do this exact route again, but as far as pushing our limits on a trip, who knows what the future holds. Cheers man and thanks for watching!
@@NorthernScavenger Great answer...feel the same way. Well, almost. I don't think I would ever attempt this one lol.
@@LostLakes How bout that Steel River? ;)
@@NorthernScavenger I'm pretty sure you're the only one to tackle the Meanest link in under 10 days and bring fishing gear with them! I'm confident that if you didn't stop to fish, and backtrack to get video you could have accomplished it in 7 days!
@@NorthernScavenger now that you've done the Meanest link you need to consider the Algonquin Outfitters Muskoka River X - www.muskokariverx.com
Excellent work Guys!!!
Legends!
Thanks so much for sharing this amazing video series. I think you guys worked so hard to both complete it, and also document it in a great style. Awesome. Much respect, subbed for life... unless you start taking politics ... or maybe also religion ;) ... thank you.
Shoot we might need to change the agenda for our upcoming videos...lol Thanks for watching! Glad to hear you enjoyed the series
Your tapping on the side of the canoe sounds like the Jumanji drums
Very cool!
Well done!
Wow just cant think of another word guys. You guys are inspiring not that I would even come close to this lol I max out at 15 Kim’s a day. Well done guys. PS loved the video
Thanks a lot Chris, really nice of you to say that. This trip for us was about pushing our limits (total trip distance, total distance per day, total portages, fundraising, etc). It is not a competition amongst paddlers but an opportunity to push yourself to gain new experiences no matter what those experiences are. We actually really enjoy paddling 15km a day and having lots of time to fish! Cheers
well done!
Thanks Jeff!
Breakfast of champions! That's a lot like my every-day porridge. I make mine with milk from powder, and chocolate, cinnamon, and almonds and seeds on top. Did you dehydrate the bananas?
Sounds delicious. Yes, prior to this trip we dehydrated 13 bananas with a little cinnamon and sugar. Much healthier than store options.
“Say, pinched off 49 kilometres with a straight face!,” Must have been a conversation.
Hey guys, what did you think of paddling the Wenonah Minnesota 2 canoe? It looked nice and light.
Good job! Now when you going to do the Brent run??? LOL
Haha a few people have asked us this now. Not going to make any commitments anytime soon haha
Did it a couple years ago. Was actually pretty fun once you realize there is no way you are beating the record. LOL
Hey I'm really interested to hear what your favourite most secluded lakes are. Me and my buddy love it up there but are always worried we are going to see people lol. Love being alone!
Good adventure. What did you use for water filtration?
We use a Platypus gravity filter system (4L bag). We got tired of pumping water and many are very slow systems. We also look for efficiencies on trips. A pump you need to be pumping the entire time, but with this you just hang it and can do other tasks for the 5 minutes it takes to filter 4 litres.
Awesome! ..well, except for your bushwhacker oats.
Haha I couldn't agree more! This is Alex here, Noah usually packs me some of the classic sugary quaker flavours so that I don't have to start every day with his cement mix. I basically have to chase each bite with a cup of coffee. Thanks for watching!
Awesome! I know the meanest link is not a time trial but what is the record for the whole loop ? I feel like you two must be high up there.
What map holder do you use?

Don’t you love auto fill? That was supposed to say “great videos Alex”. Not hideous. Geez. Just watching Kibimaki.
