    If you put the channel and power on aux-channels and use knobs, you can basically do this on any Smartaudio VTX. It will select the channel and power as soon as the receiver gets the Aux signal. If you have set up the quads the same and use the same radio you can just turn the knows on the radio to the desired vtx settings on one quad and if you plug another in it will use the same as soon as it gets the radio signal.

    One comment about the wiring of the Unify Pro32 Nano (it may also be the case with other TBS vtxes - my experience is limited to the Pro32 Nano) - when you install a new vtx and unlock the power output using the button on the vtx (as far as I know this is the only way it can be done, you cannot do it using AgentX or Lua script) you must do it BEFORE you solder that blue wire (the one on the side of the vtx), because after wiring that side pad on the vtx to the Crossfire/Tracer receiver the button on the vtx stops working!

    With the help of a "RealPit" style device, Betaflight LUA script can work similarly, cant it? Setup VTX tables, wire a "RealPit" to your VTX and set up PINIO, install Betaflight LUA script on your OpenTX transmitter of choice. When your ready to fly, power up your transmitter FIRST, set your VTX options in the BF LUA, then plug in your drone battery. Once you flip your "RealPit" switch, the updated VTX data is sent to the VTX and it makes the requested changes. Or have I just been getting lucky?

Good old channel 3 & 4 CRSF on that RX does wonders for a long time now. Change channel on your goggles, vtx changes channels, change channels on your quad, fusion can follow it. EVEN.. dynamic VTX and it can manage your output level, saving a little battery draw and heat. I thought you already covered that a while ago. Joshua - I’m looking at your wiring diagram to hook the VTX to the RX. I run unify pro32 nano vtx’s and crossfire nano ex’s mounted to either the stock tbs mount board or the whitenoisefpv boards on all my quads. Do I need to physically run two wires from the FTC to the RX? Is there a way to do this internally in the whitenoise or tbs mount boards? If not, do I run wires from the interface solder pads on the vex to the “floating” rx or from the solder pads on the side of the mount board to the rx?
    EDIT: I just answered my own question... tested the TBS Unify Pro32 nano mounting board with my multimeter on the continuity (beep when connected) setting. There is continuity between the tx and rx pads on the output solder pad side of the mounting board with the tx and rx pads directly under the 3 and 4 holes on the nano rx. If you connect not only the 4 pin header holes on the nano rx with the mount board, but also the 3 and 4 holes on the nano rx with the mount board, there is automagic connectivity for this wiring setup. Just use two more pins to connect those 4 holes. I wish I could post a pic...

      @@JoshuaBardwell Actually in firmware 6.09 there is smartaudio added (its beta firmware). However input pin is output4 which is at the back as soldering pad. It is not delivered as plug pin. Also there is pimode switch option in crossfire added, so you can assign channel and pitmode will be on/off by changing value of the channel. It works reliable and always, not like smaraudio (in my vtx sometimes it worked and sometimes didn't). What I am missing is function script (lua) that will change vtx output power and channel. If this is done then bye bye smart audio. Actually I won't use smartaudio with sixty9 as crossfire option is better for me. I set once and all my models are at the same frequency.

    Does this work with the Unify pro 5g8 v3 as well?

      @JoshuaBardwell  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes but you have to set the crossfire receiver to SmartAudio not CRSF.

    There's only one thing that I need from myvtx to completely win me over: would it be possible to put the output power on a switch?
    So as to set myvtx to boot up on 25mw and a certain band and channel, only to go to max power when I arm the quad?
    How would it work to set that up?

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  Před 3 lety

      You can set an aux switch to put the vTX into pit mode, but not 25 mW. That mostly does what you're asking right?

    • @JekleFPV
      @JekleFPV Před 3 lety

      @@JoshuaBardwell not really. What I’m thinking is the equivalent of what betaflight does when it keeps the vtx at 25mW until you arm.
      I was thinking that might be possible with a LUA script or something like that (but I don’t know a damn thing about LUA scripts).
      If there’s a way to get those types of things to work for Ghost and/or Crossfire, that would greatly improve the appeal!

    Can you change the power with a switch like you can in betaflight?

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  Před 3 lety

      You can go into and out of pit mode but not change power other than that.

    Where does the vtx get its information from to put on the osd?

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  Před 3 lety

      The vTX doesn't draw the OSD. The FC has a chip on board that the video signal passes through, and the FC causes the chip to draw the OSD.

    • @crashmode3401
      @crashmode3401 Před 3 lety

      So the camera signal wire will go to my fc and then another signal wire will go into my vtx?

    The two featuers I need most are A) seeing what channel I'm on in the OSD and B) being able to switch channels with a switch (as you showed in czcams.com/video/a1_U2v0kAjg/video.html). So I will continue to use Smartaudio via the FC.
