- Lord Shaxx, Destiny 2's crucible handler has a dragon skull above where he stands in the tower. In this video I'm going to explain why he has this and whether or not it's an Ahamkara, one of Destiny's common species of Dragons.

Well this aged like a fine wine.
Bungie would make so many people happy if they made animations of important lore events from Destiny. Just imagine getting to watch Shaxx and Zavala hunting down that Ahamkara, bantering the whole time. Watching Saint-14's crusade against the House of Devils. Watching Saladin and his Iron Lords descend into the perfection chamber. Watching Eriana-3 go down in a blaze of fire and hive ash. Watching Albios' last stand on the cusp of his final life. So much to explore, and while part of me is optimistic that one day Destiny will have as much of a full fledged universe as Halo, with mini series, comics, movies, etc, the realist in me knows that Activision will keep a cap on any of that

Pretending for a second that it is (it's not), it would not be speaking to him. Ahamkara bones and relics are only shown to speak to people when they're in direct contact with them.

being told lore in a crucible map that has a black screen mechanic, is not putting anything of what you asked for in game.
That would really cool. Especially since we're about to get the Curse of Osiris dlc, and hopefully get to meet Saint14, who was the hero of both battles.

Random Viewer Nah, Shaxx has both horns which can be seen in the Zavala trailer. We don't know how he lost it, maybe be Ikora in the Crucible as she has been the only one to defeat him.
The Farknight it was IKORA who damaged and broke his 2nd tusk.

Aweegaoㄚㄉㄝㄍㄠ How do you even know that? And even if that's the case, it does not change the fact that he still tells a better deeply story with so much details than bungie has, since they were never good at it. Nor they never explain more than half the destiny universe like Byf has many times over.
RaysWonder 213ED Byf is just the guy who reads out the lore that Bungie made, and then reads it out while making theories. We know that because he literally draws all his information from grimoire. It’s like book reviewers, they read what someone might not have time to and summarise it so we don’t have to.
Byf, I can personally tell you that I immensely enjoy your videos. As a soon to be new Destiny player (PC on the 24th!) you've helped me understand the story of the series far more than I could ever. I've only skipped a few videos due to spoilers.

i think it realy might be a ahamakara just for the fact of when the traveler did com to SOL many different spieces did pop up with it so it might me just a different spieces of ahamakara that they killed

I guess it depends on what your definition of "Dire" is.
Ive always understood it to be exceptionally fearsome.
If that is the case, then the Skull of Dire Ahamkara would lead one to think that that specimen was unusually large and fearsome.
Although, with their psionic capabilities, perhaps it references its psionic power and not its physical size.
Im no lore expert, but to me i guess it could go either way, that it is an ancient ahamkara that was just massive, or that it may be off a skeleton Shaxx decided to grab.
Id like to see Osiris ride in on a Vex-Ahamkara in the expansion.

Byf do you have any info on what the shadow realm is during the Calus fight? Are we seeing the real Calus there? Thanks for your dedication.
Three G's The Shadow Realm is realm caused by the powers around the world. As you know the whole raid is a test as to see if you're worth of living. The shadow realm part of it is where the *psions guys. Can't think their name currently* exist in their own realm as they hold a power. Calus uses this as a way to show if you're worthy to fight him thus the stack effect of the skulls. Of course this is all my clan has created as we are lore nerds but take it with a grain of salty.

It is created by the psions. The "real" callus is all the robots. He made copies of his consciousness and put them into the robots so that he can never be exiled again.

BYF I disagree with the Eris video I believe she is evil. Savathun needed us (guardians) to defeat Oryx in order for her to take control because she could not do it herself. Eris definitely hates the hive but I believe she follows Savathun. The cut scene after you kill Oryx she does say you were right my queen the guardian was the key, I believe she meant we were the key to defeat Oryx. Why did she even grab the fragment leftover in Oryx's sword? She doesn't need it unless it was for Savathun. I've heard also Savathun is a trickster, but my knowledge on the lore is not as accurate as yours and I'm sure you would know more. Those are my thoughts like this if you agree so BYF can see.
I did not get to the comment section soon enough on the Eris video so the chances of people seeing this are higher that's why it's on this video.
I thought about that as well but I think she grabbed The stone as to be the keeper or the protector of it
She gave the fragment to us and we built razelighter/darkdrinker/boltcaster with it (see BYF's previous videos on exotic swords)
By "my queen" she means Mara Sov. Eris is an Awoken that is loyal to the Queen of the Awoken, as described several times in the lore.
