I just moved to Prague and the public transportation is actually the best I’ve ever used in my life!
It's hard to ever see better public transport when there's only one better in the whole world and we don't even know where it is.🙂
@ that's basically still within the Prague urban area.😏

Just if tourists knew how to behave in the City transportation/ any similar public one. Like not to drink, and eat, give the seat, be quiet, not to change soiled diapers during transportation, guard the animals short of move...
MANY OF Those kids who grew up transported by the special school buses do have the egoistic cultural deprivation for the rest of life. I want to be wrong, but THESE tourists most often speak fluent English.
02:04 please note that with a 24-hour ticket, a passenger can transport 1 luggage for free so there’s no need to purchase an additional 20 CZK luggage ticket.
It's disappointing Janek didn't mention this when he should better than most of us
@@garfieldandfriends1 Yes, this very useful piece of information always seems to be overlooked in the Prague travel videos that I’ve seen.
what about the 72 hours one?
@@nicschintee1511 From the PID website: ‘Passenger that owns a ticket valid for 1 or more days can transport one piece of luggage (or a dog) for free (except trains).’ So, yes, the 72-hour ticket allows you to carry one big piece of luggage during the 72 hours.
Hello, what if I have 2 different suitcases? I assume that I need to get 1 extra ticket for that :D Thank you
Za všechny řidiče autobusů/tramvají a celé MHD děkuji za toto video ! :) moc nám tímto pomůžete !
I've visited Prague in 2019 and have used the public transport daily, for a week.
I have to give praise to Google Maps, because it was 100% ACCURATE in regards to departures and time consumption for any of the available routes.
I also should mention that if I was presented with the information given at 1:25, I wouldn't have been fined 50€ trying to scam the system LOL.
Thanks. Your information is very helpful. I’m Czech- Australian over 65 and now I know that I can travel for free . See you in Prague
Ay...so very nice to see this channel active again... great content 🎉😊
Skvělý video kluci! Honest Vlog has transformed into a Like a Local! And I like it!❤🙌🏼
Janek, you’re such a fun host! I love your videos.
I have already been to Prague and I can vouch that of all the videos I saw on Prague's public transport, this one is the best - everything you need to know!!!
I'm going to Prague in May, and thanks to Your Videos i know much more about this city :)
Dude awesome. I love how you give tips so easy to understand. I’ll be in Prague in a few days with my mom who is over 65 years old and this video helped!!!
Yea is it a new channel?! Haha :) nice addition though honest guides!! And thanks for putting the badge in the video.
I have been in Prague for 3 days and trying to come across with you. thanks for everything. today i got a ticket inspection but there was no problem cause i had validated it already:)) we are leaving tmr. thanks a million.🎉🎉🎉
Very informative! Thanks. Heading to Prague tomorrow and this makes it easier.
Love this. Heading to Prague on Friday for 4 days and will defo need this!!
That’s what I done the other day dead easy and helpful thanks for your advice on using transport to the city from the airport. I had a good time in Prague I was there from Monday 1st to Wednesday 3rd May.
Excited to see a new video!
Ho ho ho? Honest Vlog is now Like a Local? I'm ready for Honest Vlog 2.0!
Heading to Prague for a conference later this year. This video is VERY helpful for anyone who doesn't know the system or even speak a word of Czech.
Headed to Prague from Helsinki and this video was super helpful!
Nice guide Janek!
I think the most important thing is to really make sure that everybody understood that you HAVE TO VALIDATE the ticket.. 9/10 times that I see in the metro people getting a fine... its because they bought it.. but they didnt validate!!!
Hmm I bought tickets from TrainPal and they require that..
Very good tips, especially mentioning the litačka app, because many other travel videos of Prague forget this option. It is the only way of paying when I'm travelling in Prague and so conveniant. The app has also all the travel and planning information you need. Public transport is really really good in Prague. In the past even most of my family worked (in)directly for the Prague public transport.
Try TrainPal. They cover it all so need to worry and they’ve got promos.
perfectly said. Thanks 🤘
Agree on the 3day ticket. Very convenient. Saw a bunch of the ticket checkers going out Hlavnì Nádrazì station. They were lined-up to check everyone 😅
The best!!! thank you so much!
First comment on the new video on this “new channel” 😀
Thank you great information
Good stuff!
Hope to see more on basics for tourists.
I have used the app for the last couple of years and it is by far the easiest way to buy tickets. Super easy app to use, fast and reliable.
I have an online ticket from pid litacka and I bought it with the option to activate it later. How and when should I activate the online ticket?
@@bukala9987 Before you start using any public transport. So a few minutes before using the metro or subway.
Great video, planning a trip this year as my last try was cancelled the week Covid hit :( More hints and tips please👊
Yes new video
In Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria, the ticketing system is entirely cashless and paperless. There are digital contactless POS devices on each bus, trolleybus and tram, as well as the entrances to the metro system, where you just tap your credit/debit card. Alternatively, you can buy a special card for the public transit system and transfer money to it, but I never actually bothered to do that since I can just use my debit card. Idk, I just love how surprisingly efficient and forward-thinking the system is.
Sofia is amazing , I am Brazilian
유익한영상 감사합니다
I love Prague. I also have Prague's picture on my phone. The transport is unique, so easy to use it. Especially the underground. ❤
One more thing! It takes two minutes for a ticket to activate in your app once you click to start using it.
Hi guys. I love your videos and I love Prague. But when I go to another city I can’t find the kind of videos you make. So can you guys please partner up with other guide in other city’s so every city is getting more honest.
Thank you
Rens
Thank you! But please help! How long does the "baggage" option last? There is no time next to it.
Tvl další investorský kanál, buy, buy, buy. :D
May not go to you r country, but I love your videos.
Please make a similar video for Brno. Your video would be the best and most accurate. The ones i found are not even clearly understandable. Im moving to Brno soon and wanted some similar videos abt transport or rental or life in Brno. Thanks
Short and informative video as always. I have seen your video about Atm cash withdrawal where u advise " to decline Atm conversion charges" because our home bank conversion charges would be cheaper.
Now when we buy a travel pass or ticket - do we get an option to decline conversion?and/or what is the currency conversion % used by the automated ticket machine in prague. Is it as high as 12% ??
Thanks you very much. I live in Prague and never known about the baggage ticket as am usong Litačka 550czk for month … does that have the baggage counted in 🤔
Amazing information.. Could please clarify these queries: (1) for 90 mins ticket, could you please let me know the meaning of 4 zones ? (2) Does the Forex card (which has EURO) works at the ticket machines?
Does the luggage ticket also need to be validated in the bus? Also thanks a lot for this video and all other videos they are very informative.
Hi, thank you very much for your tips, For 5 days in Prague, is it better to have a weekly metro pass or a 3-day bus pass?
I am curious - I enjoy collecting the plastic, reloadable metro cards. I really only use my local Ventra card in Chicago but cards I have from my trips like Hong Kong or Mexico City have cool designs and are a nice, sturdy souvenir. I think in time these will be phased out as apps become more widespread so I am trying to go out of the way to collect them, even if it is not cost effective.
I have seen the plastic version of the Litaćka cards in Google image search, but they often have a photo of the cardholder on the back, I am assuming this system requires a permanent Czech address or would otherwise only be available to locals / students or something like this.
Does Litaćka offer any sort of plastic card?
Thank you very much for information how much is it the ticket for one month that cost for the transport by train and bus
Hola, excelentes todos tus videos, que estado viendo porque viajo próximamente a Praga. Me podrías explicar si con éstos tickets puedo viajar desde el centro de Praga hasta la estación central de trenes? De antemano, muchas gracias por tu respuesta.
Do I have to pay for trolly? Or is the luggage fee only for big suitcases...?
Hi Janek, your videos are simply amazing and make first time travelers so much confidence and reassurance! Could you please discuss the details of the long term (30-day unlimited) pass? Can tourists apply for it using their ID like passport? Thank you!
I tried TrianPal and tickets are not that complicated.
Thanks for the suggestion! :)
Going to Prague soon amd I'd like to know if I should pay with credit card (euros) or to change euros for Korunas?
I be here in Prague in two weeks now and i buy photo card for 610czk for a month not bad at all 🙂 so easy to jump on and off
People 6-15 still need some sort of confirmation by local authority. In fact just kids visiting some Prague school or sport club for example can ride free. I was just checking yesterday to see if my polish friend’s kid can ride free. Well, she could, she is not even 3YO. Also very useful info is that with full day ticket and longer you can ride the furnicular for free. You don’t need to wait a line for a ticket.
Hi there, thank you for the video, very informative, I am heading to Prague this week and I am planning to buy a 72 hours ticket, just to be sure, I need to validate it only once? like in the airport and thats it? not again for the next 03 days? or I need to validate it every time i need Transportaion??
also, do i need to check In and out as well?
Thanks in advance.
You only validate it once. It’s then valid for 72 hours. You don’t need to show it to anyone unless asked by a ticket checker.
I tried buying a ticket from the PID app as a test and I couldn't find a way to buy for the luggage ticket. How can I do that via the app?
Can I buy tickets for both my husband & I on the litačka app on my phone or do we need to each have the app on our phones & buy them separately?
Is it right bus 100 takes you to the yellow line ?
Can you do a video about parking in Prague? What do all of the signs mean? Where is the safest? Cheapest? My friend told me that sometimes drug runners target out of country license plates an might plant drugs under your car and then follow you to your home country. Is that really a thing?
I am more interested in getting the physical litacka card, I wouldn’t mind seeing a video on that and it’s usage.
Can I purchase a ticket before and just validate on the day I intend to use it?
Can I buy a ticket in a metro machine, walk for a while and validate it only when I got on the tram???
I'm boarding metro from main train station to IP Pavlova, do I need to buy ticket for luggage? I'm 66 years old. Thanks
If you buy it in the app, you still need to validate it via your phone, on board, right?
Hey, what if i wear a little lugage 10kg ones, does those also have to pay the extra 20ck ? or is it only for the big ones you cannot take in the cabine plane? Thanks in advance :)
I have a question, you said that you don't have to pay 65... so how can you prove a travel permit if they ask?
Thought I was watching a Blippie video for a second! 😂
za vše toto je top channgel
You’re so adorable!!! 😍
What if I stay more than 3 days? Do I just buy 2 3 day ticket? Do I need the luggage for a carry on? Cheers
I have an online ticket from pid litacka and I bought it with the option to activate it later. How and when should I activate the online ticket?
Is there a ticket for groups? Thank you
Please note if you want the sight seeing discounts you need the physical litacka card. Only the ticket in the app is not enough
If you buy a 72h ticket, do you need to validate it the first time you use it or every time you take a transport
Does the app Litacka works outside of Prague? E.g. if I go to Kutna Hora and Cesky Krumlov
Can you buy tickets in the city center too or just the airport?
If you buy the 3 days lasting ticket, when do you validate it?
Is there a reason why the ticket is printed in the bus? Ticket controllers can't check your payment without it?
Prague has one of the best forms of public transportation? Zurich and the rest of Switzerland found shaking.
and a Czech word at the end: Pokuta
Activation of tickets in Litachka takes 2(two) minutes. Why? Does that mean before activated it can't be used? Does there mean no entrance to transport?
They build in a 2 minute delay so that you can’t simply keep a ticket ready in the app and only validate it when you see a ticket checker approaching. If you are buying single tickets in the app then validate them as the tram is approaching or before you reach the metro entrance.
Honza No. 1
Excuse my ignorance. So when you download the app and buy the 3-day ticket. Do you only validate it or start the timer once you are on the transport? or once you actually buy it?
Exactly my question is the same. Can I buy it from India using an app and activate it once in Prague?? I will be travelling on 15 oct to 17 oct in prague.
Why don’t you also comment that after you activate the ticket on the app you have to wait two minutes to be really valid and if they catch you on the entrance they will fine you even if is a system created by them , why don’t you also say that in andel for example you activate your paper ticket on the entrance and need to go downstairs for at least one minute and sometimes wait for 5 minutes metro that makes you use 25 out of the 30 minutes that you bought. If you don’t tell the truth your video has 0 credibility, you do a good work spotting the foreigner scams on your country. Why don’t you start to spot the scam the metro from your country do with foreigners? Why don’t you talk about the controllers that act as they are sheriffs or detectives trying to embarace people. I am waiting for that video.
Prague is a beautiful city just a pity that the airport is not connected to a train or metro line. Taking a (overcrowded) bus and then transferring somewhere to a metro to Prague is quite a hassle as a tourist.
Hi, is it possible to buy a 30 day pass as a tourist? If yes, where can I get it. Thanks
PID Litacka app on your phone
We bought a ticket in the airport but the ticket didn’t come. What should we do?
I would recommend buy ticket from the office in the airport.
I was in Belgrade last week. Can you make a Video of how to buy a Bus ticket there. It is Not possible, not kidding.
Please let me know if i need to buy a ticket for my 8 and 10 yo kids.
You should've talked about where the tickets cover.
Will US credit cards work in the ticket machines? As recently as 2018 I attempted to buy tickets with my US credit card in Amsterdam and their machines refused to accept my non-tappable US credit card. I now have a tappable credit card (tappable debit cards are still very, very rare in the US) but when I tried to use in in Canada summer 2022 it was rejected everywhere except the airport taxi. Sorry that we are so low-tech here in the US but we are often the last to get anything. Thankfully I had better luck using my iPhone in Canada but not everywhere is equipped for that sort of payment.
If using Google Pay or Apple Pay is an option for you, then you could add your card to the app and tap your phone instead.
If it has a chip and it's a Visa or Mastercard it will definitely work - you can insert it in the slot. Not sure about cards with a magnetic stripe only though. And if you have an American Express or Discover or something like that, you may be out of luck as well.
to late for me. When i was in Prague i didnt know how to buy a ticket and at the places in the city where i was and want to take public transport there were no machines to buy a ticket so i didnt know how to get one. I ended up taking a few trams without a ticket until i found out that you can buy a ticket at a machine inside the tram and then i did that and had at least a ticket for the rest of the day
Hello ! Can we take de transports after 10 P.M for the city center at the Airport ? Thanks 😢🙏🏻
Yes. Normal services run until 00:00, and even after midnight, when the subway is closed, there are special night services. But after midnight it is definitely faster to take a taxi.
@@roundpenguin3072 Thanks a lot I’m much more reassured now !
Planning a trip in September. Will I need pay extra for a carryon suitcase if I use the bus? Or extra amount is for extra large suitcase?
You don't need extra ticket for a carryon suitcase, you're just fine!
Thanks 😊..
The limit for not needing a luggage ticket is 25x45x70cm
For kid ID, can we show a picture/photo of her passport? is that acceptable?
You guys should definitely make a similar video about the public transport of Brno. It's a little different (better in some aspects), and despite the lack of a metro line, it's very well-connected.
what about student dsicounts ?
Could you please let me know for how many hours is the baggage ticket valid?
Baggage tickets are valid for three hours.
Can you buy an airport express ticket from those machines?
