Sorry for the lack of action, it's just me showing some of the items I've done to the car since I've owned it. I omitted that that the silver paint is cracked and needs to be repainted and that I also needed to add the #7 lower body bushing. I plan to have it on the road in the next year or two. It currently has just over 80k miles. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Poston Enterprises about 10 years ago. They are VDO gauges in a complete A pillar replacement unit.
Tough to say, I did all the braces at once, but it was a night and day difference in the car...so much better.
It varied from model to model...The buicks were more promoted for ride, so things like lower body bushings were never installed to allow more car flex and smooth out the ride.
It comes with a variable speed tone depending on what needs attention.
Hold onto it because they are a collectors item as my 87 GNX. Beautiful car!!
Correct...and the rear spoiler the T-Types lack...but they have lighter wheels. :)
i love those cars! they pack a lot of punch in that little v6.
I haven't yet. Yeah, the foam backing is what fails...it just gets so old the foam deteriorates. I'll probably take it out and have it done professionally along with the sunroof cover.
@DAN4279 231 cubic inch Turbocharged V6. Stock numbers are 235 HP and 355 lb-ft.
@alienwareboy14 Kinda...the black is newish but the silver is original...which you can tell by the cracking. The black was three years old when I got it...which...wow...was 11 years ago making it 14 years old. Will eventually way down the road be repainting the whole car.
Very nice t-type one of my neighbors has a silver black designer those are very rare cars but in dallas you can find one in good condition since there was a gm factory in arlington tx I see grand nationals every full moon
do the bracings u put in the engine compartment make a big difference?
i noticed in the 90s version of the lesabres and the park avenues, some came with a big bar that connected to the tops of the shocks.
Nice comment, but there is nothing that doesn't improve the car and nothing that can't be removed. I use her as a driver, not a show queen but have retained everything for the guys who sell it at my estate. :)
i like how you have the more sleeper model compared to the gnx know one would know unless thay give it a second look
Small spots only mean its a matter of time before the whole things goes...so you're gonna need to do the whole thing eventually anyway.
ah very nice.
if u just have "small" spots, can that be done myseelf ? or best to take it to a shop
how do u fix the headliner?
i have the same problem too. not that abd but, jsut a few small spots where it sstrat to fall.
80s cars are notorius for having headliners fall. their basically cotton sheets glued to foam., and eventually the glue fails and that what happens
very nice review turbo. you ara awesome narrator
463 in 1986
does ur buick sue the r-12 air conditioner stuff?
cool car, i have a 185 limited edition that im restoring. even if it takes me 10 years ill get it ready to cruise
Thanks for taking the time to post this. I'm the one from gnttype that requested this video. This is far above and beyond what I expected.
You have it backwards. Buicks had more rated horsepower then the vette in 86 and 86. In 1986, the Turbo 3.8 had 235 rated horsepower while the 'vette had 230. In '87 it was 245 and 240.
Believe I state 86 and 87 are the same. There were variances in the ECM programming, but all parts are interchangeable, excluding the GNX which has several different parts.
No, I had it converted to R-134a a few years back and it runs great with it.
nice car dude !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love it love it love it
Nice CAR!!
Does this 1986 Regal come with a chime or a buzzer or a tone?
nice.. i love those cars... i have a white buick regal t-type 86'... i have all options on it but the security system... and the only problems i have with it is sunroof leaking and paint starting to come off... is that stock paint you have on there?
Does this Buick have the chime or the flute-like tone?
Nice, I like how conservative and subtle the design of 1980's cars were, still looks great, and modern!!!!
ive done auto glass for 7 years and all i can say is definatley dont touch the moonroof, those things on any car are very difficult.
Hey just wanted to let you know because i heard your comment on rear spoiler.... any ttype could have a rear spoiler.. ive had two turbo buicks that were'nt a Gn or a wh1 with an original rear spoiler.the option would have to have been ordered which is code T43 on the RPO (trunk sticker) T43 is the code for the rear spoiler and could have been ordered on any Turbo Buick..actually my brother has a white 87 with chrome package and the factory wing blue interior very rare 87 T well have a good one
Nice
love that car, im thinking about buying one next year
@Novak593 Always nice when clueless people post. Parking lights on the fenders were only on limiteds, which weren't turbocharged in 1986. They were limited to 1987 models only.
Nice car, I'd love to have a turbo buick one day. Great sleeper cars.
@pontiaclives Will probably trailer it to Alberta Canada in the upcoming year or two.
@Turbo231
Oh, okay. I was guessing that you were from Montana or something and trailering it up here to run it at the drag strip or for a meet or something. Welcome to Alberta!
Good info about the body bushings. Would like to add the ones that were missing from the factory to my parents' GN.
And good for you for keeping the car. As someone already said, it's pretty rare.
I agree i said gm corporate did not want the word to get out.I worked at a gm dealer in 1987.I currently have a c6 z06 as my personnal car and an 86 regal t type for sale i just bought it in rochester new york i am a dealer in montreal quebec.Cheers, nice car you have.
@87chrissss I would have to see an RPO code sticker stating otherwise to believe it. Been researching these cars for years, haven't seen an exception yet. Have seen several dealer added spoilers, but those aren't factory.
Nice highly optioned car. My dad boughy a 1987 TType new and it had the GN trunk spoiler. Was optioned to look just like a GN except the wheels. Not sure what the price difference would have been on a Grand National VS a Black with blackout package TType would have been, but I'm guessing car for car the Ttype was cheaper. Miss it all the time. Thanks for sharing yours.
Ya man dont sell it, Wow that is nice car.
this was actually very informative...very cool car
so when you hit Turbo Boost the car goes flying through the air correct? LOL :)
@Turbo231 haha i'd hate to see what people say about how i store my cars lol
I lived in the Bangor area.
Sweet! I also have a nice '86 WH1 T-Type.
Is there a difference between 86 and 87?
@xdavstratx in theory 10 HP but nothing proven as the cars were underrated HP anyways.
whereabouts maine do you live?
there is no difference between 86 and 87 engines it was simply that in 86 corporate gm guys didnt want a buick advertised with more h.p than a vette. The 86 and 87 offer identical performance.
why some one would store a car like that is beyond me
Might be easy to say by someone with time and money.
@STAZE27 I've moved from Maine to Alberta...rather keep this car then sell it.
Still have it?
Yes. Stored.
@@Turbo231 Sweet! Mines my daily driver. Factory astroroof, posi, concert 2 sterio, power seats. Highly optioned car. Makes about 400 wheel hp. Where are you located? I’m in Michigan. These cars are rare so I love finding out about others. My first car! Lucky to have it at 17. Can wait to get finished with high school and start making it perfect!!
I got mine at 20, daily drove it for a while, then mostly car shoes and such, it’s a summer only car. I moved to Canada about 12 years ago and stored it at my folks place in Maine. I’ll get her imported to Alberta in the next couple years. It’s worth the hassle, the resale point on these cars is crazy up here.
@@Turbo231 plus, they’re more rare than a GNX🤭 I’ll never sell it
I don’t sell anything that has value left in it. That’s why I own 11+ cars now.
that might be a car worth searching for, whats the production numbers with the WH1 designer series?
They have a registry, just look up Buick WH1 Registry.
Very informative video. How come you're bringing it to Alberta?
@Naturalhit Not Really.
It sure is...first car I've ever owned, hope it will also be my last. :)
do more videos on the ttype
Nice vid nice car
Still not want to sell? ;) I'll buy it.
Mod Grip Yeah, I either need to sell it or import it to Canada.
@@Turbo231 Very nice ride! Have you still got this car!? Have you ever decided to get rid of it!?
@@scarface9617 I still have the car, its in deep storage and its been there for about 10 years. In a few more I'll be ready for it to come out and enjoy it again.
@@Turbo231 I watched the video but how many miles does the car got now and does, it have any upgrades on the motor or still like it was in the video!?
It would love life in Kentucky brother!🤔
scar face it has about 88k miles and mild upgrades, stock internals.
nice car bro. but after all those add ons,it takes away from seen anything almost original in my opinion.just a little too much ,unoriginal add ons....
clean and super rare not that many with burgundy interior on designer series
