    We retire in a few years, researching cool weather cities in Mexico, and we think San Cristobal is #1 on our short list.
    We speak Spanish, have lived abroad before.
    We love the outdoors IN COOL WEATHER. We just want a safe place with decent healthcare, a few Vegan restaurants, and I hope to find a Jiu Jitsu school…I understand there is a pretty good one there.
    What do you think, would you recommend San Cris to your parents ?

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  Před 2 lety +1

      It is definitely a cool weather spot in Mexico and has amazing outdoor activities close by. We also found it to be very safe and has a wide variety of food options, including vegan. Health care is the one aspect that we don’t know much about as we didn’t research it there

      Love that you included the vegan info. Any good swimming?

      If you venture out of the city towards the waterfalls then yes. We swam at the el chiflon waterfalls but it’s not in the city!

    We have a short list of 6 cities in Mexico that we may retire to, and San Cris is currently #1 but we have not visited any yet. Long story but we will first move to Queretaro….our daughter has a vacation house there. We like cool weather, we speak Spanish, we’ve lived abroad before, and we are Vegan and love long walks. San Cris seems perfect ?!?! Thx !

      @worldwildhearts  Před 2 lety

      It’s a great place! Definitely has the cooler weather since it’s in the mountains. Lots of nature around for the walking and did have some decent vegan food options compared to other cities we visited in Mexico ourselves 👌

    Hi, could you please let me know how it is there regarding covid regulations and masks etc...I saw a lot of people wearing them in the street in your video! Is it enforced in shops and bars etc? Thank you in advance

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  Před 2 lety +1

      We were there in May earlier this year and while there were some mask regulations, it was pretty open in general. It was more of a comfort level thing and not strictly regulated at that time.

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  Před 2 lety +1

      Definitely not in 1 day! We stayed in San Cristobal for about 6 days total!

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  Před 2 lety +1

      We had a rental car for the road trip around Chiapas but didn’t really use it in San Cristobal, except for some of the things that are right outside the town

    No that's when you come here plan on getting sick from the water because it is definitely an issue

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  Před rokem

      That's definitely true. Don't drink the tap water! We got sick at the end of our trip. Not sure if it was from the water or not, but it was a 24 hour bug kind of thing
