Yeah if implemented accordingly, it's a welcomed development that will ease the stress Nigerians go through in renewing their passport abroad. Also the Visa on arrival policy is another positive initiative.

It is quite sad & shameful for a country as Nigeria to be in this state & us talking about this in 2022. Can you imagine your own mother country frustrating you at every given opportunity, while your adopted country ensures your fundamental rights as a human and citizen are provided for you. To renew passports in the US is not a big deal. We simply walk to the nearest post office and present all required documents, fees and passport photos. That’s it and I get my new passport in my mail box 2-3 weeks later without stress. This is all about planning. Nigeria is capable of this, yet they refuse to do follow suit just so they can continue to steal and don’t have to account for anything. That is just what all these are about. These so called leaders know exactly what to do for things to work but have refused on purpose. And it cos the people have allowed it to go on. Later, they will say Oyibo man has taken away all their best brains and that their brothers & sisters in diaspora don’t want to come home. Why would they want to come home to a place that don’t want them through their wicked actions towards them? Do you blame those that have sworn to remain in the diaspora and never come home? Frustration got most of them to that point. They have been forced to create a family for themselves over there and face their new life. It is quite shameful indeed.

I got a visa on my American passport in February of 2020; however, due to COVID-19, I cannot travel for one year and lost one year on a two year visas. Is true that the Nigeria embassy can add one year to the visa due to the pandemic. Please help.

I was in Nigeria recently to renew my Nigerian Passport, upon departure on the Sunday 3rd of October after boarding and barely settling down on my seat. I just decided to admire my new Nigerian Passport and I saw that I have been stamped out as 3rd of September 2021...Apparently the officer has forgotten to change the month on the Stamp Pad and It was too late as I was already seated and flight about to leave...What a costly mistake the Nigerian Immigration had on me!!!

Please for your own good and convenient, do not travel to Nigeria with an expired passport or visa upon arrival on dual passport. Nigeria government are confused talkless of their bogus information. Please save yourself from stress and extortion from Nigerian immigration in lagos/Abuja from all these information because the immigration officers at the border are the cause that system implemented by the government are not taking effect because of due to lack of communication.

Chai I just watched your content great info. Please check your Instagram messages I sent you copy of my passport & you can see how they used to renew passport. Back then they just stamp it & extend the date. This is the only way they passport can be renew at the airport. Thanks
You don't need a travel certificate or visa on arrival for your expired Nigerian passport if you have a valid foreign (USA) passport. Mine expired since July 2020 and no one asked me for a dime or delayed me for 10mins to be cleared to pick up my luggage. They hailed me for bread money and I gave them only 1000 naira shekina!

@@godsonnwoseh3680 Qatar accepts expired Nigerian passports. Just present the PCR positive test and the Nigerian covid travel permission certificate. Make sure you pay for the Nigerian 7-day arrival compulsory PCR TEST. Qatar demands it before boarding.
@@godsonnwoseh3680 No issues whatsoever. Ensure you are with 72hrs negative covid19 PCR TEST results and a print out of Paid Nigerian Covid19 Permit to Travel. That's it. When you land in Lagos, frown your face, they will only advise you to ensure that the expired passport is renewed before you intend to leave Nigeria. And will beg you for tips which is not mandatory. I watched a youtube video of a lady that did not renew her passport due to short stay and was also allowed to leave Nigeria without a Nigerian passport but a foreign passport.

I really wouldn't care if they did renew passport's at any Nigerian Airport. I will renew my passport in advance at my country of origin, before I commence on any trip to Nigeria. Seriously!!! Why even think that, that kind of express service would be available? No way! Not Nigeria! Too ambitious! People should just renew the old fashioned way.

@@geenonar just don't wait till you need to travel to renew it. Remember Nigerian's attitude in office is the same everywhere. You are better off waiting for your passport with no added pressure.
The minister should publish detailed procedure of renewing passports at designated airports. He must ensure that that measure does not translate into cash cows for immigration officers. He should get to grips with how Nigerians can obtain Nigerian passports tearlessly at home and abroad. Good measure, but implementation remains to be seen.j

Yes, you're a full Nigerian.
You can use your father expired old Nigerian passport as proof that he is a Nigerian. If he is a Nigerian American, the first page of the US passport should be sufficient.
You don't need travel certificate or required to pay a dime at Lagos international Airport if you have a foreign passport and an expired Nigerian passport. The immigration officers at MMA will only advise you to ensure you renew the Nigerian passport before you leave Nigeria and beg you for bread money. 1000 naira welcome back bread money is what I gave them and no one complained.
