He copied so many fights from actual hongkong movies. There is so many Jackie chan moves in his bits. And a lot of moves is just stolen from all the beat em up games out there. Its nicely done but he didn't come up with it.

The Matrix, Advent Children, Devil May Cry, Street Fighter and an endless number of other fighting games, Jackie Chan’s moves and moves of other famous martial artists, etc etc etc. Don’t act like this wasn’t insanely innovative and creative back in 2005/2006. How old were you back then? Do you actually know what you’re talking about, or are you just talking out the side of your mouth? If you’re not impressed by any of this, then you’re just deliberately being a contrarian just for the sake of sounding cool because you are low key jealous and could NEVER even make five seconds of his original videos yourself. I can only add to the dogpile about how good this is. The fluidity of the animations and the expressions add so much to what was already a masterpiece of Oum's talent for choreography. If I had a nitpick it was that many of the impacts seem less intense than Monty's. But considering the amount of work that went into lovingly recreating this is just amazing. If you do indeed remake Dead Fantasy II, probably one of the best choreographed battles ever put to any kind of film, I can only bow down to your perseverance and skills. ^.^
I so wanted to do a breakdown of the whole battle back then, but Monty moved on to RWBY and then passed away, so the time never seemed right. Maybe now...?
This is incredible. After Mounty passed I was scared that a lot of his work would be canceled and forgotten. But it really just astounds me in the best way that his work is still inspiring creative works like this. Keep up the amazing work and I can’t wait to see what’s coming.

I changed the video quality to 480p to match the frame rate of the original video. I must say the choreography feels a lot better in 30 FPS compared to 60 FPS.

Seeing this and everything that you're doing here just brings the biggest blast from the past in the best way possible. i don't know how to say this. the fight is very good and clever. they're not throwing punches and kicks blindly. every character took every opening and chance they got to hit the opponent. I really love the scene when Rikku threw her opponent (idk her name) to save Yuna from falling 2:37. The opponent used her "teleportation" skill to save herself and inadvertently saved Yuna as well. That's such brilliant and unique move. I will never find that moment in other fighting games, movies or anime.

This looks so damn good. There was a certain beat to the rhythm & flow monty had in his work. This doesn't entirely catch that subtle rhythm, but in the faster paced moments it definitely is in there. Keep going!! I can't wait to see the next one!!!

I remember my uncle showing me this back when I was really small and PS2 was the bomb. Now watching this remade just brings tears of nostalgic to me. Thank you whoever you are that did this!
First of all, this whole remake was top tier, and I just want to say that grapple kick at 3:04 was legendary. That was so creative and gave me ideas to use for myself. Honestly, after that, I want to make my own animated videos. 😂 I can't even tell you how inspiring this is as someone who's watched Monty Oum's work, RIP Monty, for so long. It's nice to see others who are just as good and unique with their work. Hopefully I'll see more?
Monty oum was such a talented guy! I remember when dead fanatsy first got shown on CZcams like 10, 11 years ago? This guy was ahead of time in terms of animations. Loved this series, all characters were from final fantasy, dead or alive, ninja garden as well. .. Sigh I really miss him :( rip
@@BeeLy1011 I've talked to this dude on the unfinished version he posted a year ago, where way more people were vocal about the questionable integrity of this project He said then he wouldn't be able to complete it without crowdfunding and someone else just said in a comment I left that he did/was/is crowdfunding this project for future episodes. Even if he didnt make anything off of this (which, eventually he could just from views alone, views of an updated version of SOMEONE ELSES work), he crowdfunded it when Monty DIDNT, and even if he doesnt crowdfund it he'll be making a name for himself as an animator for... simply redoing someone elses work a decade later That's so artistically bankrupt imo. Why not just come up with your own concept and characters or do a mash up no ones seen before, as I mentioned to him in those other videos? I understand this is out of 'respect" for monty but it's still gross loo

Hey, Wanted to say thank you for working on this. Monty (and specifically Dead Fantasy) was the reason I went to school (back in 2009) for animation and why I continue to work on indie projects of my own. So thankyou. It's an incredibly faithful recreation.
I went into animation because of Monty inspired me. 11 years now I’m a VR engineer, and there hasn’t been a day I don’t think about these very same animations
I really wanted to know why Monty had Hitomi beat Tifa in that church. That honestly shouldn't have been possible and I'm assuming from later episodes that She let it happen for some important reason that unfortunately we will never find out.
@@thekazist The logic was always that Tifa has always fought with a team at her side, and her experience fighting typically involved fighting monsters, or armed combatants, whereas Hitomi excels in one on one combat, with a pretty decorated history fighting other martial artists. This is why Monty showcased Hitomi's discipline as Martial Artist after being blinded, defeating Tifa with sheer martial technique over raw power.
So,what can i say - that was epic. Not professional reviewer's opinion - just someone who enjoyed video. Video has it ups and downs but still... Good face animations, fight scenes were mirrored from original to perfection, those mooves were not riped and tatterd but smooth( like they were real people, with muscle pain from hitting really hard and so on...). The downsides were little (that i spotted) - like some comments from below - feels like action was not fast enough.Maybe coz of new engin but it's not that important. A LOT of work were in this and it IS good and all in all i wanna say is thank you for your work. And yes - continue? Next part? Really?

@@deadfantasyremakebyuiyahan6238 I belive the issue about the speed is a downside of the 60 fps. I guess the original was 30 or so fps. The extra fps smooth things out, maybe that's why it feels diferent for us. But still, wonderfull job.
I agree with this 100%. I wasnt sure if I was the only one to notice. It is a fantastic remake! It's nice to see the graphics updated. I would watch Monty's lower graphics fight scenes anytime, though.

I still watch the original from time to time and someone there mentioned this remake. Absolutely amazing work, I hope it can continue. DF II was my favorite and seeing that sequence remade will make my year. Appreciate your hard work and efforts!
Probably the higher frame rate. Comparing the two side by side, this seems to be an extremely close remake, but higher framerates tend to remove the snappier feeling of animation done at 24fps like the original was, so if you do a straight recreation at a higher fps, it can feel slower and more floaty even if the animation is an exact replica.
Yes and no, it's the same speed recorded at a higher frame rate (probably 60). Higher frame rates shows you more frames and details to process, which makes it look slower.
I can see so many details and aspects that are new, but also love how you stayed true to the source material, This is amazing and im sure Monty would of been amazed by this too.
You know what you must do. Pay homage to Mr. Oum's memory and finish the story.

I watched this as a kid because I loved final fantasy. Now I'm just amazed at the graphics and how well you put this together. Just an amazing job.

This looks so damn good. There was a certain beat to the rhythm & flow monty had in his work. This doesn't entirely catch that subtle rhythm, but in the faster paced moments it definitely is in there. Keep going!! I can't wait to see the next one!!!

I remember my uncle showing me this back when I was really small and PS2 was the bomb. Now watching this remade just brings tears of nostalgic to me. Thank you whoever you are that did this!
First of all, this whole remake was top tier, and I just want to say that grapple kick at 3:04 was legendary. That was so creative and gave me ideas to use for myself. Honestly, after that, I want to make my own animated videos. 😂 I can't even tell you how inspiring this is as someone who's watched Monty Oum's work, RIP Monty, for so long. It's nice to see others who are just as good and unique with their work. Hopefully I'll see more?

Monty oum was such a talented guy! I remember when dead fanatsy first got shown on CZcams like 10, 11 years ago? This guy was ahead of time in terms of animations. Loved this series, all characters were from final fantasy, dead or alive, ninja garden as well.

@@BeeLy1011 I've talked to this dude on the unfinished version he posted a year ago, where way more people were vocal about the questionable integrity of this project
He said then he wouldn't be able to complete it without crowdfunding and someone else just said in a comment I left that he did/was/is crowdfunding this project for future episodes.
Even if he didnt make anything off of this (which, eventually he could just from views alone, views of an updated version of SOMEONE ELSES work), he crowdfunded it when Monty DIDNT, and even if he doesnt crowdfund it he'll be making a name for himself as an animator for... simply redoing someone elses work a decade later
That's so artistically bankrupt imo. Why not just come up with your own concept and characters or do a mash up no ones seen before, as I mentioned to him in those other videos?

Hey, Wanted to say thank you for working on this. Monty (and specifically Dead Fantasy) was the reason I went to school (back in 2009) for animation and why I continue to work on indie projects of my own. So thankyou. It's an incredibly faithful recreation.

I remember the first time watching this my thoughts were "Dang Hitomi is a beast".
I really wanted to know why Monty had Hitomi beat Tifa in that church. That honestly shouldn't have been possible and I'm assuming from later episodes that She let it happen for some important reason that unfortunately we will never find out.
@@thekazist Hitomi took Tifa's materia too if I'm not mistaken.
@@thekazist The logic was always that Tifa has always fought with a team at her side, and her experience fighting typically involved fighting monsters, or armed combatants, whereas Hitomi excels in one on one combat, with a pretty decorated history fighting other martial artists. This is why Monty showcased Hitomi's discipline as Martial Artist after being blinded, defeating Tifa with sheer martial technique over raw power.
This takes me BACK. You are doing a fantastic job, each scene is so CRISP. Monty would love this I'm sure, keep up the great work!
Oh my god, my throat is closing up watching this. Astounding. Dead Fantasy is one of my favourite things ever and this hits that mark.

Video has it ups and downs but still...
Good face animations, fight scenes were mirrored from original to perfection, those mooves were not riped and tatterd but smooth( like they were real people, with muscle pain from hitting really hard and so on...).
The downsides were little (that i spotted) - like some comments from below - feels like action was not fast enough.Maybe coz of new engin but it's not that important.
A LOT of work were in this and it IS good and all in all i wanna say is thank you for your work.
And yes - continue? Next part? Really?

@@deadfantasyremakebyuiyahan6238 I belive the issue about the speed is a downside of the 60 fps. I guess the original was 30 or so fps. The extra fps smooth things out, maybe that's why it feels diferent for us. But still, wonderfull job.

It is a fantastic remake! It's nice to see the graphics updated. I would watch Monty's lower graphics fight scenes anytime, though.
I've been waiting for this -- loved it since I found out you were remaking it! I really hope you can do DFII! It remains my all-time favorite, mostly because of Rinoa!
Stumbled on here after watching the remastered original. I’m stunned. I can’t believe we get to see this again. I think Monty would have liked this. Please keep making it, I wish we could have known what the ending was. This is amazing work and what I didn’t know I needed in 2021. Thank you.
I still watch the original from time to time and someone there mentioned this remake. Absolutely amazing work, I hope it can continue. DF II was my favorite and seeing that sequence remade will make my year. Appreciate your hard work and efforts!
Is ist just me or does it feel a bit slower than the Original but damn i need more of this also this Animation style looks fricking Beautyfull
Probably the higher frame rate. Comparing the two side by side, this seems to be an extremely close remake, but higher framerates tend to remove the snappier feeling of animation done at 24fps like the original was, so if you do a straight recreation at a higher fps, it can feel slower and more floaty even if the animation is an exact replica.

Yes and no, it's the same speed recorded at a higher frame rate (probably 60). Higher frame rates shows you more frames and details to process, which makes it look slower.
Maybe because some camera movement changed. But its better because we can see every move
