Nice to hear that BitterBlitter got a PC-98 himself and is helping you out with the Windows 95 setup. I've done it myself and I will say it is definitely more annoying to install than on a PC for a number of reasons, it also runs slow on my 486SX/33 model. I tried Diablo and it worked at like single digits lol. Also, besides that utility, there's some games like Puyo Puyo 2 where even if the computer boots in 31khz the game will always force 24khz while it's running so that's also worth looking at imo.
Regarding the PC 98 recovery discs… it could be available in the many retro shops in Japan. I have a friend who is a nerd who lives in Tokyo. I could have him look for you. He regularly goes retro computer shopping
That's very kind of you to offer. I do check Buyee and the like periodically but if your friend happens to spot a set of recovery media for a PC-9821 Cu13 I'd be very interested 😁
As far as I know, the 2600+ experimental firmware is not a community project. It's an official firmware, though still not a final release. The source code is not available for the community to tinker with.
Nice, loads of stuff and projects coming along I see. Just wondering if you are going to do a tutorial video of how to install the beta firmware from AA made by users? Also what I have spotted in the background in the middle shelving unit light grey controller with blue buttons... Is this an official Atari Jaguar controller? I never seen one of those. Many thanks
Been searching for an MT-32 or an MT-100 for years now but they have always been way too expensive for me to pick up. And now you, Rees, have both of them. - Not hating but a bit jealous. I do however have an SC88 which can be reprogrammed to emulate an MT-32 but I'd prefer a real one some day. I think there are some others which can be modded to be MT-32 compatible (like the SA-50 or something?) so I guess that can be an option too. Great ramble.
