I think the stress and the emotion of being in a competition made her forget she cant bend her blade in that moment... I also understand the refferee, its the rules after all. If she wouldnt have been booked with the yellow Kirpu would have been very annoyed. Right decision by refferee, but still im very sorry for her.
So was that someone else and not the referee who says „set“ after the „allez“ around 1:53? Like, there’s clearly someone close to the ref microphone saying something that sounds like „set“ and Alex immediately goes slack, thinking the bout is halted when it wasn’t. Obviously, nothing the ref can do other than give the card, though.

Imaginez, j'ai eu a donner un carton noir pour passivité dans une finale à 13-13 parce que les tireuses ont décidées de laisser passez les 10 dernières seconde de la manche et que de cette manière la troisième minute de passivité se complétait à 6 secondes de la fin de la manche! Mais ce sont les règles.

I was watching this and it just hurt me so much. So close to the win but fumbled in the stupidest way possible.

@Gravixofficial1 focus on distance, blades are the same length, you can hit the hand no matter the size
