Thank you @Badminton Insight ! for the video
Another great video.
Here's another fundamental mistake in my opinion...Posture.
I played badminton for 50 yrs and still am whacking the shuttles.
Perhaps do a video on the importance of posture for beginners and even intermediate players... That is if you agree with me.
I am started watching your channel from 4 weeks and your channel is best than other and the most important thing you are international badminton player and you helping beggners
@@jlee8181 What does posture have to do with whacking?
The effort that you guys put in filming and editing each one of your videos is just amazing. And that is exactly why your videos are so effective and insightful. Thanks guys
Wow thank you so much Aisha, that means a lot 🤗
Guys, I love your content. At my very low level, all the advices you give resonate a lot to me. And since I'm watching your channel regularly and following most of your advices (well, the ones for beginners essentially), my game is improving so much. And I'm having more and more fun! So a big thank you for that.
That is amazing to hear, and it's why we continue to make these videos every week 🤗🏸
The concepts and values here apply 1000% to all other fields. As a professional musician, I spent many of my early years feeling the “suck” and doubling down on the fundamentals to improve my music game. As for badminton, it took me a while to find some friends at the badminton gym who wanted to drill instead of play. Now I have a small group of partners who look forward to our drills. And you can tell it’s slowly causing some others to be a little jealous-you can tell that they would like to drill as well. 😃
They sure do! Thanks for the great Insight Steve 😊 That’s great to hear, keep it up and no doubt you’ll keep improving 😀👏🏼🏸
Love from India 😍🥰
👋🏼😃

How many players (especially still being active) able to use their own mistakes as negative examples? And show all their appreciations (not only respect) to their opponents? With your love an attitude to badminton, I have to say you two are the greatest players! I believe you two are getting into top 5 very soon, please keep up your positive energy, stay healthy and out of injuries! Looking forward to more of your great matches and the use your big wins to create many more great videos! Cheers!
We love you both as a couple, as a content creator and mainly as badminton players.. Thank you for creating such great videos..
and All the best for upcoming matches❣
Hey there, thanx for this video. You really hit the nail on the head! I can clearly see myself in some of those mistakes. One thing that is ever so important to mention: Getting the basics right and moving from there gets you much further than practicing some fancy shots you never get to use anyways b/c you lack the aforementioned.
Your welcome Christian! That is definitely the case yeah 😀
Much agreed on the chasing glory part. I decided that the day I stop playing badminton is the day I stop smiling when playing badminton. I don't think I'll ever play badminton without a smile on my face though.
That’s a great view to have 😊👍🏼
Love it! Thanks so much, you nailed some great truths once again. Loving all the brilliant detail in the editing 🤩
Thanks a lot Judith 😀🙌🏼
Thanks Greg and Jenny ! Your videos always make my sundays better ! Your advices are always spot on, it's unbelivable ! See you next sunday ! Take care ❤️
Ah that’s great to hear thanks a lot 😊 We’ll look forward to seeing you next Sunday!
I play on the Masters circuit in the UK. I've literally just come to the same conclusion about prioritising enjoying the game over chasing points/results, and I'm playing some of the best badminton of my life. Love this channel!!!
Good point. I used to love playing when I first started but then as I found I wasn’t improving significantly I started to dislike playing.
Watching my own games over the pros really helped me for your point 2.
By comparing their techniques to mine I discovered what I had to unlearn and relearn in my weakest shots.. and its hard to break the decade old habits.
I would say with only average club time (4-5hours per week) you can only improve few areas during the season so it is best to focus on them consistently.
My biggest mistakes and the most time consuming ones was to play only matches during free time instead of doing some drills.
Focusing on winning instead of LEARNING is an universal flaw, in badminton this learning is however still an enjoyable process.
For a long time I did not progressed, not bc I couldn't learn, but bc I was distracted from my long term goal and once I realized that things changed quickly. (improving faster than my mates that they took notice).
Thank you! Really needed a reminder to identify the things that make up most of the points.
And to play less games, practice more :D
You’re very welcome! Hope you can improve as a result 😀
Yet another awesome video guys.. Certainly hit the nail on the head on many of the topics! Thanks 👍
Ah so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks Nayan 🏸😄
@@BadmintonInsight...no thank you guys for constantly putting out educational videos like this to highlight common mistakes that are often overlooked. 🙏🏼
Thank you for this! I played badminton when i was In grade 3, but since the pandemic, I only have recently played and practices, this helped me alot!
That sponsor slips in so smoothly... tricky! Love your videos!
Haha thanks 😀
Love what you're saying about "chasing glory" and focusing on enjoying the process.
Cheers! \m/
Thanks 😊
It's a great video with so many actionable points. I am a regular viewer of your channel and so are my group mates.
Thanks a lot! That’s great to hear 😀
These tips came at such a good time! I'm joining a tournament on Oct. 22nd and preparing to try out for my university in May 2023, so I'll make sure to take note of these! Badminton Insight never fails to deliver.
P.S. the cardboard Jenny cutout caught me off guard 😂😂😂
You guys are fantastique! More and more players from my club are watching your channel now, and we all find what you share are extraordinary and helpful. Big thank you!
Ah thank you so much! That’s great to hear 😀 Which are your favourite videos?
As a starter player who doesn't sleep, have a proper diet and doesn't exercise. This video is a reminder for me. Thanks for this video!!
Haha hope it helps! Good luck 😀
Thoroughly enjoyed the video, the intro hit me on a spiritual level 🤣. I was also really surprised to see how much sleep affects your badminton performance.
Haha that was the aim 😜 Yes sleep is so important!!
Hi remember last video where I commented about me being sick? Now I am feeling better and can go back to school and play badminton as well. Great video by the way, I need to improve on these!❤️
Ah that's great to hear! And thanks, glad you enjoyed the video 🤗
@@BadmintonInsight Hi this is me again on a different account, I have 5 more tests until my break, thanks for all your support. Also, everyone, pls smash the subscribe button.
You guys always seem to post up the right content that I need at the moment! I needed this. Lol
great video! very true about the sleep part. i always play horribly when i do not get enough sleep. my legs always feel heavy and my shots are always sluggish on the days i don’t get sufficient sleep. thanks for the awesome content once again!
Thanks for all the videos.
U just tell us about 1 point in full description so that we can learn easily
Thanks for making efforts for us . My best wishes for both of u .
Love from INDIA
Thank you guys your videos are amazing I have followed most of your advice and improved a lot in a month I hope i became the best player like u both are
Ah thank you so much! That’s amazing to hear
Thank you for the Video Coach Greg and Coach Jen. I always struggle on closing out games when me and my partner are ahead and yes the real reason why we play is because it is fun playing Badminton :)
Great advice! My serve is one of my strengths. I'm constantly practicing. If I don't it will become average. Serves help set-up winning rallies.
When I was a beginner, coach encouraged us to play additional sports (soccer; track, or cross country running). Why? For conditioning, team work, communication, & to take a break from badminton. He probably knew none of us had enough natural talent to make the national badminton team. He was correct! 😏 As a singles player, who also ran track, it definitely helped with my endurance on the court. Badminton training was still the hardest. Now that I play MD & XD at social clubs it is so much fun to play 2 against 1 when my partners' strings snap or they run off court. They mistakenly think I'm tired. Let's just say the longer the rally, the more of an advantage I get (our skills are equal).
Thanks for making these awesome videos and sharing your knowledge! Will definitely improve a lot just by watching your videos.
You’re very welcome! That’s great to hear 😀🏸
New to your channel and I start playing Badminton 1 week ago. Thank you
You’re welcome! Enjoy 😀
Honestly your editing is so incredible! :D
Thank you so much!! 😄💻
Love you guys.I swear this video is going to help many people's...💕💗💕🥰💕
Thanks! We hope so 😀
4:48 straight up life advice!
As with every video, I learn a lot from you. Thank you for your continued efforts and sharing of your expertise. Just from your video my son and I have improved our game significantly in a period of 6-8 months. Keep up the good work and best regards from Germany to you.
Quality of the video: Good narration and easy to understand for non-native English speakers, and wonderful voices from both of you.
Holy shit ,you guys are underrated, your video quality is going up and up every week , today's video was amazing as well, BTW are we getting a new blog anytime soon👀
Ah thank you so much ☺️🙏🏼 and maybeeeee 👀👀👀
Another great video,I always look forward to them! But if I'm not mistaken you guys at some point during the video you said something allong the lines of if you don't know your strengths and weaknesses stick around and we'll show you,
is that for another video?
Thanks 😀 We did mention it towards the end, it was in the section about watching yourself back! Hopefully other videos of ours will also help you with that though, including our how to analyse a match video!
@@BadmintonInsight Cheers for the response thanks take care!
Iam struggling with back hand.. And love you both for very important knowledge about badminton..
Hey badminton insight, love the video again very helpful for an intermediate player like me. Do you have any tips on how to receive a high serve (idk if there is a name to that) cus lately, I haven't been able to get back and I'm always doing an overhead which I'm not that good at it and usually costs me the point. Also, how do you do overhead drops, are u trying to like slice the shuttle or what?
Brilliant and insightful... Thank you
Thanks a lot Raymond 😀 Glad you enjoyed it!
I knew sleep was important but not THAT important. Only got 5 hours of sleep and noticed I was way winded playing doubles/singles against players that should've just been a warmup for me on a good day.
Yeah we agree - very eye opening statistics (or eye closing statistics 😂)
Thanks so much for the advice in all your videos 😊 I’m recommending you guys to a lot of fellow players haha.
Ah thank you so much 🤗
This video points out the mistakes/misconception that we as an amateurish player most likely have. It is so practical and informative. Love it!!! Ps. "The curse of Mediocrity" XDDDD
Expecting for more videos in this content
Thanks
sleep & nutrition are beneficial on improving the game - liked the facts/stats shared in the video...
Amazing video, thank you for some of those tips. I guess I really was doing some things wrong. The Ryuga 2 just came out, can u guys do a review on it?
Thanks 😀 Glad you liked it! We’ll try and do a video on some rackets soon!
very useful tips, i have never seen such insights over internet
Thanks! That's what we are aiming to provide 😃
Love the revelation music deng deng deengggg ! hahaha 😆
Haha!! 😂
Great one guys. You have helped me a lot to improve the game.
Thanks! That’s great to hear 😀
You guys do what I want personally. Thank you
Truly great badminton insights. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it Dennis! 😃
To save time, you can watch matches at 2x or 3x speed
It's hard to keep up with what is happening then though 😅
@@BadmintonInsight ya true so I usually resort to 1.5x speed but it's still useful😁
Great video! Its like youve been watching me play 🤣
Love from Australia ♥️♥️♥️
I would like see a video on how to learn from videos of pros playing eg what to look for when they are playing ( linking on from you guys mentioning not watching enough matches )
Thanks! We have actually made a video on this recently - how to analyse badminton matches! 😀
one time i had a doubles tourney i was so stressed thinking bout it all night that i lost in the second round
I make some of these mistakes and this video helped thx for telling us how to fix them!
Yay glad we could help! 😃🏸
I think tactical plays is another often neglected aspect of the game. Simply playing certain shots in certain situations would win u many more points without needing technical improvement!
It would also be great if you can put up more videos on tactics too :D
Commentatoress Gillian put it quite right:
Keep up your court awareness to know where to place you next shot - aggressive or defensive alike - and get you opponent moving as much as possible ..
In pro-Sessions it's increases the chances of a mishit of your opponent
In intermediate-sessions you can even score points
Beeing the best table tennis player on a badminton court it makes my intermediate sessions pure fun for me :)
5:24 that got me laughing xD world class acting
Haha 😂 Glad you enjoyed it! Was hard to take it seriously when filming!
Hello!! Watching and learning every week from you in the Philippines!!
The one that really hit me was the first and second one bc i only play match and don't actually train 😂 very helpful video (Beginner btw)
Thanks guys for this video. The most important video for a advance player like me
You’re very welcome! That’s great to hear 😀
The transition to the sponsor is smooooootthhh 😆
Great video as always
Haha thanks! 😆 It was a natural transition what can we say?! 😄
omg the PAPER CUT OUT OF JENNY AHH I LOVE IT
😆😂
This channel have helped me a lot!
Tomorrow is my tournament so widh me luck😉
Ah that’s great to hear! Good luck 😀
Yah I will implement this in my gameplay thanks!
You're welcome! Good luck with it 😃
Hi, great video. Do you guys use 3u tkf or 4u.
Thanks Ghulam 😀 We use the 4u as we can’t get a 3u in Europe!
The first mistake I think can get so much more complicated. It's not just moving forward when people are forced to hit the shuttle from an awkward angle, but also about how players need to know how to position themselves according to the situation in general. For example, where to stand when the netshot was very tight or when it was not. It's certainly not something that can be squeezed into a 10 min video, but I feel like the first mistake should be less about 'not moving forward' and more about 'positioning appropriately according to how well the last shot was played'. I feel like once players understand this concept it's like an 'aha' moment and even if they don't have a 1 hour video to explain it to them, they will pay more attention to the positioning of the pro players when they watch them. I think this is a good video, but I'm also worried that some players could oversimplify things like how this video presents the first mistake. Afterall, many coaches still make new players train by making them move to all 4 corners and the players are expected to return to the base after every single shot, but In a game this is not really how people play badminton.
Not cheesy at all! Good advise my guys..👍
Haha thanks! 😀
guys, I learned a lot from your content, so can I suggest you tell us some tips that could clear cross court consistently and strongly?
and please specify what time table u follow in the week to do different aspects of badminton training
Good stuff as usual !!😊
Thanks Daniel! 😀
so good advice, enjoy the game that,s the most important thing
These guys deserve million subscribers
Haha thanks! That would be awesome 😮
Hello badminton insight, you have helped me improve my game a lot but i would like to do a recommendation please can you make a video on how to deal with nerves and be relax rather than being tense in a match if you can then i will be very grateful thanks 😊
Thanks for the video. I’m tempted to add that meditation can really help. Doing it on a regular basis has made me a better player … Do you sometimes meditate? Cheers from Belgium
Yes we do actually! We have recently added it into our morning routine and Greg has been doing it on and off for over 3 years now!
Great great great video! Well done 👍
Thanks 😀 Glad you enjoyed it!
@@BadmintonInsight what's so good is that this is so applicable to other sports too. Brilliant video 👍👊
Yes, great when you upload. I am playing badminton today actually
Hope you enjoyed it! And have fun playing 🏸
@@BadmintonInsight Thank you👍
I'm a beginner and I'm happy that i already do some of these things yay 🎉 gonna try doing the rest too 👍
Ah that's good to hear, you might be one step ahead than others then 😜 enjoy!
@@BadmintonInsight haha yeah sometimes 😉
I would also love to see more match videos👍👍

Thanks Darren! We certainly hope so 😃
Tq Coaches
You're welcome 🤗
Hey guys very informative and concise video but I want to ask that have you covered any mistake that all badminton players don’t make well i don’t see😂 I am just saying this video was too good for me
Hello badminton insight...i used to be really good at badminton but i had to take a break for more than a month.. I'm unable to play properly what should I do?
im not really chasing world ranking, but i want to get too 10 in my country❤, i have sometimes problems with ego, but i still make ao much progress, today i learned how to really play backhand, because of training, ❤🎉
can you do a video analyzing marcus gideon and kevin sanjaya like your previous video
Thanks for the suggestion 😁🏸
Love your videos
Just by watching you I won a major intra academy tournament
Thanks 😊
That’s awesome, congrats 👏🏼
That is awesome! Congrats 😀
hi Greg and jenny
I have bought a victor thruster f and while removing it's inner grips I have found that it has a wooden shaft handle which I find it's not proper as you explained in your review video u said it has a special plastic shaft
can u help me in finding whether it's is a genuine one or not through any kind of authentication like shaft number Or with something else
I hope you can spot me and give some hand in this
Hi there! That’s strange, it might have been a different batch - we also have some with wooden handles but most should be plastic. There is very minimal, if any, playing difference between them
Hello i would like to ask if iwant to stringed my racket by 29lbs main what would be the tension of Cross?
I love your videos from Philippines
Nothing like this is talked about on the internet but such practical advice that will help so many people improve their badminton! Bravo once again 👏🏼👏🏼
Wow thank you so much Fabrice 🤗🏸
Love u both....love from India❤️❤️
*watches you two tell me to get more sleep*
*looks at clock* 1 am
oops
😂😂
My mom always to be in bed early!!!
.. 1 am sounds about right though :)
I would say a big one is during matches gripping the racket to hard or being to stiff on the court especially when attacking
Can u teach us ...how to kill returns of low serve in doubles(club level player)
Thank you mba'e Dan mas 'e
I'm working on improving my footwork today, low to high intensity, and I hope someone would at least train me for shuttlecock feeding
