22 Acacia Avenue had its roots in another song - "Countdown" by a band called Urchin. Adrian Smith was in Urchin, was asked to join Maiden in 1981 and when they were writing songs for the Number of the Beast album, Steve Harris remembered the song "Countdown" and basically took the intro and modified it.
Thanks guys. I knew you'd love this one. That crowd was just going insane. The sound and camera work was both superb, too. This whole show was one of the best recorded Maiden performances ever.

I still remember that night in late 1983. It was TV broadcasted over Europe and I sat at home watching, and taping on VHS the entire performance. The bands performing during the entire event was Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Quiet Riot, Ozzy, Krokus and Michael Schenker Group (M.S.G). A great lineup and some unforgettable moments. I also saw Iron Maiden for the fourth time that year on the same tour as this concert.
I would like to seen that that's one hell of a lineup

Iron Maiden 6 times (1980, 1981, 1983, 1984, 2013 and 2018), Scorpions 3 times (1984, 1986 and 2017), Def Leppard 2 times (1986 and 2013), Quiet Riot 1 time (2016), Ozzy Osbourne 5 times (1983, 1986, 2010, 2012 and 2018), Krokus 1 time (2017) and M.S.G. 1 rime (2013).
Love this song, one of my favourite Maiden tracks! Helps alot my friend in school lived on Acacia Avenue ( not this particular street ), it was such fun singing this at the top of our lungs when going to visit him. 🤣🤣🤣 🤘🤘
When this concert was filmed it was broadcast live on television. It was part of a larger bill with Judas Priest and The Scorpions as well if I remember right. It was broadcast live in several different countries so that may explain the subtitles.
