- Shizuoka is blessed with the bounty of the mountains and the sea so it's not surprising that they are famous for their food. Today we're trying out some unique snacks and treats from this part of Japan.

Loved watching your Mom enjoy the food. I lost my mother 3 years ago. Watching your mother brings My mother back to me. While there is a cultural difference there are similarities too! I can see how much she loves her children. I can see how much love and respect her children have for her. It was the same way for my family here in the United States.

It is so true. I was the oldest daughter and I had to be the example for those who came after me but always knew how much my mother loved me. I an see the same thing here so, while the cultures are different they are still the same.
Gina Tani there's a song in Ireland called "a mothers love's a blessing" and indeed it is. My wee Mammy died 16 years ago, and she still, even at the age of 80, worried about and prayed for her babies.
Thank you for letting me know about the song. I will look for it on line. They never stop worrying about us. Like they say " A Mothers love knows no bounds ". We are always their little chicks no matter how old we are.

I love Shizuoka prefecture, I visited it last year for Hamamatsu and the Shizuoka Daidogei Matsuri, and again this year for the Hamamatsu Matsuri. Nice cities, wonderful festivals and always amazing food.

Those potato chips with the mandarin orange flavour looks wonderful. Mandarin oranges are the only oranges that I like enough to eat but I love regular orange juice.

I love those wasabi KitKats but I was disappointed that the wasabi flavor wasn't very prominent. Would love to try the soda and chips.

Here in the states a few years back, you could get a chocolate bar made by Lindt that was dark chocolate and wasabi. I LOVED it! But they don't make it anymore :( My eyes lit up when I saw the wasabi kitkat! It looks so good

Wow this is the first time I saw Oden in a can. Very surprised. I will have to try on my next trip as Oden is one of my favorite styles of Japanese cooking.

Awww love this one. Your mom is so sweet. Don't know if I've tried that wasabi kitkat though I have tried one before (no idea if they make more than one kind of wasabi kitkat). I quite liked it too. I've noticed that most flavours paired with kitkat taste good regardless.
