Put a plastic bag (without holes) around the oil filter housing prior to removal. keeps the mess down.
Easy to watch , very clear , I could watch you all day.
Great informative video. A lot of videos are painful to watch but this was easy to watch, listen and learn. Parts are being researched now to do the fuel, air and pollen filters. Many thanks

And good luck
Cheers pal
👍DT filter byutiful
Thanks man 👍👍👍
Mmmmm genuine parts 😎 Nice job mate, the old filters looked to be not too filthy. That's a well looked after car 👍
The owner was splashing the cash on this one 😁, not really believe or not it's cheaper to get VW genuine service parts rather than aftermarkets .... The filters are always in good shape with this one, I service this Skoda every 3 months or so changing the air filter oil filter and oil, and every 6 months all filters ....Cheers mate👍👍👍

Iulian Nueloiu Thanks mate 👍
@@CarsExposed You welcome.Any video about DSG oil change?
Iulian Nueloiu unfortunately not yet but I should have a Skoda superb 2011 DSG coming at some point soon 👍
Cars Exposed 🤟I can’t find the gearbox filter.😢have you any idea where the filter is situated?
Iulian Nueloiu Yeap it’s pretty much underneath the battery tray, battery and tray has to come off to get access to it, looks just like the oil filter cap 👍
Good
Hi , fantastic video very helpful. Can u please tell what size extension bar and wrench do we need for oil filter ?
First open the drain plug on the housing (13mm nut) ....
Then remove the filter
How's she goin'? Good job!! It's great to do your own maintenance and being able to access the onboard computer is pretty sweet too!! Thanks for posting...
Grampie's Workshop she’s going good ☺️👍... thanks Grampie’s, the Delphi diag tool is a life saver ...
I’ve been watching your videos but I didn’t catch your name ???
My name is Mike and guess what? I didn't catch your name either... So you own me brother!!!
Grampie's Workshop 🤣🤣🤣 my name is IGOR, like the assistant in Frankenstein 😁👍👍👍
Nice job! Like still like your videos! :)
Cheers bud 👍👍👍
Just saw your email buddy sorry about the late reply
Nice one, but what about the dsg oil and filter?
please give the website where you ordered the parts
Nice video! I'd recommend using 13mm socket to open the oil filter drain port before using the 32mm one so that you don't get as much of a mess as you did. 😅
Thanks for the tip!
Thank you for good video...Delphi diagnosis is from Ali?
Hi make a video on how to fill up dsg oil gear box or dsg gear box oil change on skoda octavia 2013 .
Nice, clear, easy-to-follow vid. ..thanx for the upload. Quick question: in the new oil filter box there's 3 items: filter, large rubber o-ring/seal [both mentioned] and a small, separately bagged, rubber o-ring [not mentioned here] ..what is this last item for? Thanx in advance 👍🏻
The small o ring is for the drain plug on the filter housing. The plug is in the middle at the bottom of the housing and should be removed before you take off the housing as it allows you to drain any oil from the filter.
Beware, there is one significant problem!
Since the cabin filter is horizontal and there is dirt on the top, you are not able to pull the filter out so that the dirt does not fall directly into the fan! And there, at best they just rattle, at worst they make a bigger mess. Always when replacing, you need to use a sheet metal jig that slides under the filter before removing it! It can be bought, but of course you can just make your own. That's what the debris that gets collected during the change attacks.
It's a hassle, but it's true. I don't know why the designers didn't use a vertical fan like they used to. So watch out for that!
Really helpful, was looking for te oil filter for some time. Thanks to you I have located it. Can you share where you buy te vag parts from.

Great video,I paid for my friend he is a mechanic with garage £160 plus he looked around the car.plus stamp in the book.
I have the 2013 1.6 diesel manual,if comes to the cambelt plus water pump change how much I can expect?
Plus all brake pads and discs need change front and back if you don't mind to give me a ruff price for that.
Keep up with the quality videos!
Did you have much trouble refitting the damper on the glove box.. I found a pain . End up using a long handle flat screwdriver to snap back in.
I have a mark 2 Octavia if I change the fuel filter will I have issues starting
it up or will it start normal
Hi friend.
Is this the same way you change fuel filter in old skoda octavia 1.9tdi diesel rider 2006? Whether it requires only inner filter or entire metal filter ? Please
Having done the fuel filter myself on VAG cars, you’re supposed to use your software (e.g VCDS) to prime the new fuel filter before you start it. If you don’t, you risk starving the high pressure fuel pump which can lead to premature wear and issues.
Or if you don't own a VCDS as a get around, you could fill the chamber with Diesel additive, or fresh diesel to avoid air getting into the system. I just use a diesel additive which helps clean out the injectors at the same time.
or open and close the driver's door a few times.

Thank you for this video
What about steering wheel oil changing?
DSG 1.6 TDI.
Thanks in advance
I’m not 100% but I thing it has an EPS in this one ...👍
Hi. Would you be so kind to share the type of DELPHI software? Im just going to make the first oil and filter exchange my SKODA, and based on this video i'am sure going to succes. Thanks a lot for this video!
This is what I get charged £150+ for unbelievable. Will definitely do my own now
Not quite they can't but help look for any other problems or potential problems at the same time because they then stand to make even more money so in effect your usually getting a lot more than just the work carried out in terms of them inspecting it as a matter of course.
can you put some links where to get the parts from please? looking for genuine parts also
what key numbers did you use down please?
Where did you buy the parts? GPS?
Hi man, is it poss for you to link all the parts? Ive just bought a vrs and would live to do this in the next few months
Which things you change in this video because I have skoda superb I also want to do service which things i change tell me
Thanks for the great video. But these still one question. How to change the oil in the gearbox. The service people say it is kinda "not necessary", however there's an opinion you still had better do it after some 80-100 000 km. For me it sounds reasonable. But I have no idea how to refill the gearbox oil. You can easily find the drain plug underneath the gearbox, but I cannot find the refill plug.
Steeldime A I got my local mechanic to change the gearbox oil at 85k miles. He said the oil that came out looked very dirty, well worth doing at a cost of around €30, will be changing it again soon after experiencing gearbox problems in previously owned non-Skoda cars.
Great video! Thank you.
Could you please do one for cleaning the EGR valve, the throttle control and changing the glow plugs when you have time? Got codes P067400 and P210000 plus emissions light on on mine recently...
As soon as have the car coming in with that fault I’ll film it 👍👍👍👍
hi how many miles have you done mate, and what vehicle is it?
Do you know where is fule safety button (reset)? My car cranking bot not starting. Fule is cut.
Why oil filter is upside down? It similar to vw just other way around. Good vids man! Thanks.
No other reason rather than engine compartment space, that's where they found it would be the most suitable place to fit it... thanks man much appreciated👍👍👍
Skoda pollen filter access seems easier than VW. =)
I agree the Skoda Octavia and Fabia are so easy, i believe the Skoda Superb has the VW pollen filter system underneath the dash by the footwell, saying that i just remembered you have LHD vehicles in Canada that may change few things... Cheers Bud 👍👍👍
I need parts 😭
You must fill the tank of fuel filter with electronic comand of the fuel pump.
some do, some dont
What I am doing is sucking out all fuel around filter, wipe everything put in new filter and top up diesel from can and then close
just open and close the driver's door with the key out of the ignition. this will prime the system and you'll hear it.
Great video Igor thanks for that. Russian? Let me ask is this model pretty much the as 2014 one? Because I'm thinking doing the service my self. Thanks again for the informative video.
Thanks mate... I’m Brazilian with a Russian name 😊... yeap it’s the same, have fun doing it cheers 👍👍👍
I have a 2016 Octavia , please can i have all the different filters references ?
That automatic screw driver is really handy! Where did you get that one from ?
i believe it was B&Q my father in law gave it to me 👍👍👍👍
Koja gedora za filter ulja,32,34 ili 36
List of tools plz tell
Hi man great video. Could you please help me out, when pulling fuel filter out it's get stuck halfway out not sure why. Is there something that could hold it at the bottom? Thanks
Michal Klepek not really apart from some wiring loom that you have to get around it
Great vid with some nifty tips!! VRS owner here.
What's your take on fuel filter interval? Should it be replaced at every other oil change?
Thanks mate, Ideally every service remembering that we are dealing with preventive maintenance, realistically tho yes every other service that’s what I do, the fuel filter still looks in very good condition at that point ... but we also have to take in consideration how often the service is getting done, personally I service my cars every 10k miles ... cheers
@@CarsExposed What? Skoda recommends 40K miles. You're wasting your money.
Great video!
Where have you purchased all the goodies?
