Hang on a tick.. Isn't this a scene from Midsomer Murders "Death's Shadow"? Village fete + Get a celebrity to open the fete + Archery Competition... + Hostile to new villagers... Hmm...
Can’t say I’ve ever met a bunch of toffs like this in my life, where do these people hang out 🤷🏼♂️😂 Cos us English really talk like that. Loved the Ronnies though
Ronnie C does reveal the village name as "Nether Edgeley", which is a lot like Nether Alderley in Cheshire (Edgeley is a part of Stockport, once in Cheshire, which isn't quite as posh but was at one time). It's places like that they're taking the rise out of here...

No-one comes close to this level of humour, nowadays; simple observational humour. Masters of comedy !!
Lion taming - "it's only for the one performance ..."
Pure gold, I miss this kind of raw talent, so much.
Hilarious
That was the standard humour by such talented artists
Forty years gone and still so crisp and exciting

Hysterical. Where has talent like this gone
Love the 2 Ronnie's, great part of my childhood 😊
I live in a village, with a village fete, and that’s exactly how the meetings go.
Would they call him 'Woger?'
Well I hope you've never been asked to "Look after the Bingo!"
they are so funny, both the writing and the delivery
The sketch was funny, but the pun in the title was the funniest bit for me.
Class! TV gold.
Hahaha brilliant
You never knew what was coming with these chaps such a great laugh really did appreciate the humor they gave
🤣👍

I've only just discovered it! I've watched it 3 times in the past 30 minutes and I'm still giggling like an idiot!
"Three cheers for Roger!"
*everyone cheers just once*
They were pressed for time.
Of course, genuine bingo is also a fate worse than death
I love it-a lost world.
Fabulous!
The two Ronnies now that was proper funny
Ded raht, lass, that wer comedy as wer ment t'be.
Another wonderful sketch.
Just 1 Setup After Another, it Was Nice Know'n Yuh Roger, Lol.
That ending is so Lovecraft. The Bingo!
I was thinking Shirley Jackson.
@@MaskedMan66 She never had big, lumbering monsters, did she? I thought she was always low key with human monstrosities.

Always loved them!!!!3😊❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Very funny the two RONNIES
Love the way Roger is wearing his tie around his neck rather than around his collar…😂
Misguided cravat
That's called a cravat, a style that was popular before the modern tie.
I'd say they didn't have a cravat in the wardrobe so they gave him a tie to use as a cravat instead! Ronnie Barker's wearing a cravat!
Brilliant!
Rustic democracy, villagers know the fundamentals better than any politicians..
Classic comedy 🤣
It does involve a crocodile 😂
Wrestling no doubt .
If you want to escape the snake pit, yes.😂😂😂
you obviously don't want to take part in this year's fete.
Netheredge 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
When I was a lad Ronnie Corbett opened the fete in Thornton Heath...
Yes! He loved opposite the Crystal Palace football ground.
".....or my wife" lol
I wonder if Shirley Jackson ever saw this sketch.
I was envisioning some form of Minefield Bingo.
This sounds like my life
I thought they were going to assign him being shot out of a cannon.
I thought Roger would have been good at being a lumberjack in the mushrooming displays.
Ronnie barker the genius behind the genius 😎

Good one, hilarious. Very mild social satire
How would you like to look after the bingo ?
What an awfully nice performance. How kind of you to up-load this very amusing video for the benefit of all of us to enjoy.
Awfully and nice?
Was about to say the same. How can you use awful and nice?
