When I go to restaurants and order to much it is usually because I will take half of the meal home and have lunch the next day like goong to Texas Roadhouse and ordering the Chicken Fried Steak and a Chicken Fried Chicken with two baked potatoes. I will cut both meats in half and one baked potato will go home for lunch the next day, nothing wasted.

I'm a Texas grandma. I have my grandfather's rocking chair. Don't wait till you retire to enjoy a rocking chair. When I was a kid on the farm. My grandfather would pass up sitting in the soft chair or the couch after a full day working out in the fields and caring for his livestock to just sit in his rocking chair and watch the news after dinner. He loved his old wooden rocking chair. And I'm so blessed I got to rock all my babies and grandchildren to sleep in it. I keep the tradition going by sitting in it in the evenings and catching up on world events.
Blessings to y'all from the Great State of Texas 🤠🇺🇸

We call the "chips" steak fries. You can pick your sides and how many you want. Free refills on soda but not on alcohol. The Okra is lightly breaded and deep fried. You can choose biscuits or cornbread or both to have with your meal. They usually ask if you want more and what type of jelly you want. Plus what you don't eat you can take it with you. You also can get breakfast anytime.

Okra is definitely breaded & fried. & it's a must to put butter on the cornbread muffins and the biscuits. Also, the chicken fried steak & gravy.... it's best to just dip each bite into the gravy on the side rather than covering the whole meat in the gravy. It keeps each bite crunchy & fresher tasting. Smothered in the gravy, it gets a bit soggy too quickly. 😉🥰🥰

My mother used to cut fresh okra, dredge it in seasoned corn meal(with salt/pepper), then fry it in a skillet with vegetable oil. While at most restaurants the free refills are brought promptly, it's usually by the server for your table. But at my very short stint as a Cracker Barrel server, we were trained to go around and fill drinks at any table. So in between taking out your orders, you would grab a pitcher of lemonade, sweet tea, coke, etc and go and fill up any tables. And the same with taking away any dishes. You weren't supposed to leave or come back to the kitchen with empty hands.

I think you might be confusing Cracker Barrel with Crate & Barrel. Crate & Barrel is a modern furniture, small kitchen appliance store, similar to IKEA. Cracker Barrel is a country style restaurant chain that is located off of the exits of all of the United States major highways. They all are set up the same way with the same menu and the same gift shop as you walk in. The camera shows it very crowded in the store but it really isn't that crowded. I'm big at 6 ft 2 50 lb, and I get through the store easily. It was just the camera angles. Cracker Barrel is nice that it is at the exits of major towns off the highway and that not only can you eat there, but if you have an RV you can park in the back of the parking lot overnight if you need to where they have RV parking.

Okra is a pod of seeds from the okra plant. It is a vegetable. It originated from Africa around Ethiopia and Eritrea. It was brought to America by slaves, and was incorporated into southern cooking. It's an integral part of Creole gumbo. The pod contains a slime around the seeds, but when they are sliced and stewed into the gumbo, that slime gets out and becomes part of the thickening for the gumbo. At places like Cracker Barrel they are typically sliced, breaded, and deep fried. The frying makes them not slimy any more. Sliced okra with stewed tomatoes is also a popular dish. The acid of the tomato seems to neutralize the slime. All the talk about slime probably makes them sound unappetizing, but the fact is in the dishes that are popular the slime is not there any more.

Cracker Barrel is a chain restaurant, you can find them in many locations. Bob Evans is also a chain restaurant that serves home style cooking, both at very reasonable prices. I love them both really. They are much better than the typical fast food chains when it comes to getting a good hearty meal. Great reaction, thanks for sharing.

Kat or Kath (spelling?) looks nice with a ponytail and jersey.
I love rocking chairs. I still have my first one from when I was two years old. That precious little baby chair is 54 years old. 🙂
Many people have rocking chairs and matching bench swings on their front and/or back porches, decks, patios, and inside the house. I love rocking recliners and think they're cool for the baby's nursery.
Cracker Barrel sizes depends on location, but the ones I've been in are pretty roomy. They're sitting by the wall, and the camera angle may cause the area to look smaller.
Be sure to try cornbread with butter. I've seen far too many people who've never had it, but have been told in the comments to make sure they use it.
I hate how slimy raw okra is, and it can also be pretty slimy when boiled, so I only eat it fried. I take the simple route of only adding salt and seasoning salt to the flour, and though not as good, I've eaten pre-battered frozen okra. I've never had pickled okra, unless I was very young and don't remember.
Weird, but I can't stand when people say "mac n' cheese", especially when eating homemade baked macaroni and cheese. For me, mac n' cheese is what you buy in a box, or whatever, has powdered or packets of "squeeze cheese", and you throw in the microwave on mix quickly with hot water on the stove.
Baked homemade macaroni and cheese made with eggs, milk, salt, butter, boiled macaroni, and layered as macaroni, sliced extra sharp cheddar cheese, macaroni, cheese, until you have the amount of layers you want,
    deserves some respect. 😊
Large portions are served and we take home what we don't eat. I love their chicken and dumplings,so I usually finish it and sometimes order another serving to take home.

The Okra (at Cracker Barrel and everywhere in the south) is egg-washed and then breaded or floured before frying. The mashed potatoes are how I like them, but we call them smashed potatoes when we leave some soft chunks of taters in them... not just served like potato smoothies! Ha! We always season our breen beans with a tad of bacon grease for the awesome flavor. Cracker Barrel is a great out-of-the-way restaurant that serves "down home" food, and everyone loves them, and yes they do feature a "general store" when you first walk in... it's a theme sort of thing and they sell cool stuff but it's always a tad cramped. *Please don't put fast food in your bodies when you come here... "chains" are NOT where good food is served (sometimes not even REAL food, like McDonalds) 🤮 Also, when you eat or buy anything in metro areas (BIG CITIES) you will pay WAY too much - New York City and anywhere in Calipornia are a few great examples of getting robbed for decent eats or souvenirs. Cheers Guys! 👋

You can buy the rocking chairs at Cracker Barrel. The store is a gift shop made to look like an old time country store. Cracker Barrel was started in Tennessee.

Cracker Barrel is pretty decent and wont break your wallet. The roast beef is good, slow roasted for like 12 hours or something... I'm not sure exactly how long but it is good. The catfish is solid as well. Breaded okra is a must and honey on the cornbread, glass of chocolate milk too ,..yum.

One thing is that in America, it is the law that aisles have to be wide enough for a wide wheelchair so while it looks cramped and narrow, it legally can't be cramped and narrow.

Cracker Barrel is a chain restaurant, but I love it. Where I live, the three main food options are Mexican, Tex-Mex, and barbecue. But sometimes I like to break the cycle and go to Cracker Barrel. I think you can’t go wrong by going to Cracker Barrel. Also, just before seeing your video I saw the news that your Prime Minister was shot. I don’t know what his current condition is but I do hope and pray that he pulls through this.

Cracker Barrel is not "old country western". It's "southern country". And it's almost a sin to not put apple butter on your Cracker Barrel corn bread. It's absolutely delicious on hot corn bread with melted butter! Also, the okra was breaded and fried. Okra stays green when it is cooked. It doesn't turn another color.

Okra is sticky unless you fry it. Then it cooks up quick. Not every one loves fried okra. But I think it is great if it is battered & fried. They said how it is proper Texas. It is proper southern & based in Tennessee. But it is sorta 'Texany'. There is also the Cotton Patch in Texas which is very similar.

It's funny that you mistook "Big Boy" for "Bob's Burgers" because all of the Big Boy's restaurant's that were around where I grew up in the Washington, D.C. area were named "Bob's Big Boy". That was even my very first job, working as a dishwasher when I was 15.

I enjoy watching our American food being experienced and Cracker Barrel is good. But I can tell you here in the South, as I'm sure it is throughout the country, the best "country cooking" to be had are in the small "hole in the wall" grill's found in every small town. These establishments are usually family owned and run. And in our area we have what we call Fish Camps. Family owned seafood restaurants. Chain restaurants can be good, but if your looking for authentic and great like granny is in the kitchen, seek out where the locals go.

Big Boy's Burgers is an old time burger fast food place (maybe before McDonalds) and burgers were just $0.05. That was a few years ago. So it's an antique (replica I'm sure) sign. The A7, is that the Corsair from the 1970's and 1980's? If so, that was my generation of planes (F-4 Phantom, A-7 Corsair, A-6 Intruder, F-14 Tomcat, P-3 Orion, EA6B Prowler, etc, etc)

Okra is a southern staple - usually in a sort of stew with tomatoes and seasoned really well and sometimes spicy too or breaded in corn meal and fried People also put whole pods (I would say they are more shaped like a small-to-medium sized chili pepper with lots of seeds inside) in gumbo but your wife is right on cooking them awhile to get rid of the slime inside before adding to anything else…Anything that will be boiled I should specify. Not an issue when frying
And this southern gal is NOT down with the crispy/crunchy green beans. I want them cooked in bacon grease and simmered all day with salt, pepper and ham hocks and the bacon. Almost mushy lol
