I had the opportunity to spend a morning with the #2 UFC LHW Swiss/Turkish fighter in South Florida and had the chance to hear a little of his story, his thoughts on Jon Jones, Alex Gustafsson, Daniel Cormier and find out what makes the quiet Volkan, such a beast in the Octagon. The options are limitless for this guy and honestly he has a storybook rise in the UFC.

this guys short hooks are soo powerful, its not real. He took bruce lees one inch punch to the next level, he doesn't need any room to land knockout shots, no wind up, no room needed just amazing how he can put his whole force so efficiently into such a quick short shot

hey I really like the video, but could I suggest something, for example like around 3:50 in to the video, your filming a close up on the pad when his foot connects, could you pan out a little in situations like that. I know that I and I assume many others like to watch his full body mechanics and see how to throw that technique

I love the video. Great insight into a great athlete. Quick question. Why is Volkan training in Tae Kwon Do? Find it very unusual for an MMA fighter to train in something more traditional. And in many ways impractical considering he's a cage fighter.
Kirk Landau anything by itself in MMA is not enough. No purists ever win in MMA today. Even the great Maia. My question was Why Volkan is training Tae Kwon Do now? Yair Rodrigez, Ed West, and Anthony Pettis come from this. And you can also argue Silva, Bendo, and Rutten started from Tae Kwon Do. You can even say Conor needed other tools as a puncher and kicking seemed to perfectly fit him as a striker. However, Volkan started from Dutch Kickboxing and then went onto Jujitsu before jumping into MMA. But why is Volkan using his vital time now training in Tae Kwon Do when he's up against the biggest adversary he's ever had in D.C. What's the angle? Kicking D.C. in the stomach to wear him out. Or kicking to get explosiveness for his KO punch?

Underrated channel for sure keep up the good work. It wasn't long where I was hating on Volkan thought he didn't deserve to be ranked #5 after his split decision win over OSP, than I thought his 30 second KO of Cirkunov was fluky. But after his last fight I know that not the case, I'm a believer and a fan for life. He 100% deserves the title fight over Gus.

Out of over 900 international martial arts styles. Taekwondo is 9th out of the top 10 most useless street self defences out there. Research it yourselves. Easiest belt system known to man. Karate teaches the same guidance of using distance , has better striking , take downs and is usable in many different scenarios. Taekwondo has some really great kicks and are used as useful tools in mma. Take a straight up blackbelt down in Taekwondo and high chance your winning unless the guy can grapple also. 90 % of street fights go to the ground.
