  • Nimbus was diagnosed with Alopecia X in July 2020 (though his symptoms started around 8 months of age). After testing him for a number of conditions, we began treating him with DerMagic shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. I also put him on a raw diet, rotating between Answers, Primal, and Stella and Chewy's. You can find links to these products below.

It's so great that you made so much progress with his alopecia. You clearly did your research on how to improve it. I have three yorkies, and whenever one of them has a medical problem (in addition to bringing them to a great vet) I always google the condition with the name Dr. Dobias. He is a great vet from Canada that writes a lot of blogs with a more functional approach. I have found a lot of things that have helped my pups where medicine did not. Your channel is great, and videos are very fun to watch. I am getting a 12 week old siberian kitten next week, and I hope he doesn't mind my yorkies too much. Merry Christmas!

You’re welcome! It has been such a great resource for me with all of my pets, and it’s helped a lot of other people that I know. Please keep up your videos. I really enjoy watching them and I was also very comforted when I saw your Pomeranian getting along so well with your Siberian. I’ve been a little bit nervous about the introduction.

I love people who upload these kinds of videos. I have an adopted Pomeranian who was abandoned because of this problem. I would like to know how nimbus takes melotanine. Do you take it 2 times a day? or only at night This will serve as a reference to discuss it with my veterinarian. thanks for your videos. I wait you answer.

I'm thinking that my pom has post clipping alopecia. My mom is going to call and make an appointment with our vet in the morning. If he has it, I'm hoping that we can try treating it in the same way. I'm glad to see that your pom is doing better!

@@lunaandnimbus685 Thank you! I'm really hoping that I'll be able to treat him because I don't want him to get sunburned, since I live in a hot place... also, I am pretty sure the groomer that he was taken to shaved him a bit which is a big no no for double coated breeds. This video is what made me realize that he possibly has some form of alopecia, because his skin looks very similar to your pom's plus also has hair loss. I'm hoping that your pom is feeling better!! one question, does alopecia cause any discomfort and, if so, is there anything that can help with that? Thank you!!

@@toyarctic Does he have darkening skin?
As far as I know, it doesn't cause discomfort (unless, sunburn, as you say). Nimbus is starting to scratch a lot so I'm going to investigate some possible allergens. And yes, deep shaving is a major no! Feeding a good fish oil is great for their skin and joints.

hello guys. i can officially say that our pom beat alopecia X.
i trief many diets and also visited different vets with no results. the solution for our pom was so simple we couldn't believe it. We mixed outmeal (with some water) to his normal wetfood (horse meat). he looked worse than the pom in the video and now his fur is all fluffy and back again.
