Many of my Instagram friends have asked about Yudgin’s recipe by fighting against AlopeciaX.
Here I try to summarize what we know and what we did and hope it will help you or your friends in the fight against this disease.
Unfortunately, the vets know almost nothing about this disease and just seldom can help the owners with this problem.
However, I suggest that first, you let the vet
    a) check your dog for allergies and
    b) make a hormonal blood test and see the Thyroid (T4, etc.) level.
For allergies, you have to avoid all things and meals that can cause the allergy.
If the T4 hormone level is too low the veterinarian will subscribe to hormones and the dog has to take them during his entire life. If the Thyroid is low but not critical, maybe it will be enough to give your doggie 1 drop of Blue iodine a day with his drink water.
But if no allergies and the Thyroid level is normal then it's better (and much much cheaper!) if you take the healing into your own hands and try it by yourself.
I have read a lot about AlopeciaX and Black Skin Disease (BSD) on diverse Facebook group sites where many owners from around the world showcased the problems and many swore for DerMagic from Mendota.
And now I am also one of them.
    And here is our story:
Yudgin didn’t change his baby fur and when he was 1 year old signs of AlopeciaX appeared.
We did blood tests and his thyroid was a little bit low but there was no need to give Hormones.
We started experimenting with different diets that were said to be healthy, we bought shampoos, conditioners, and masks recommended by professional groomers, but nothing worked. Yudgin's fur was getting thinner and thinner, and his skin was turning black over a larger area and later on his whole body, legs, and tail.
And then an Instagram friend suggested DerMagic and showed the results they have achieved with her pomeranian boy. The photos she sent me were very convincing., so I ordered DerMagic products on the internet.
We used 2,5 months long DerMagic products (soap bar, conditioner bar, and the lotion daily!) as per manufacturer description (Google for it!) on the whole body (except the head) very intensively. I have put the lotion with a painting brush on the skin and massaged it in with it.
At the beginning of the treatment, it’s very useful also to bathe your dog as often as you can, say every 5 days. I also suggest gently(!) scrub the black skin parties with an exfoliating scrub (we used oily Dead Sea salt from the Drogerie ) every time before shampooing.
After bathing dry the dog and you can use some Coconut oil and/ or leave-in Keratin conditioner (for humans) too.
Your dog will be wet and greasy from the lotion so put 2 cotton overalls on him ( it’s also useful not to get greasy all your clothes, carpets, furniture, and bed sheets ) wrap your dog in a warm blanket and take him in your lap for half an hour as the puppy will be cold and even shivering.
After 1 month there was no visible progress at all. The only good thing was that black skin disappeared and Yudgin’s skin became pink in spots and later everywhere. In the beginning, during the procedures, Yudgin lost more fur and got bold in some areas.
Then I learned that it’s necessary to renew the skin before getting new fur. Healthy fur can grow only on healthy skin.
After 2,5 months Yudgin has got new fur and undercoat on most areas, only spots on the back and tail remained bold. I used the lotion on these spots for a further 3 weeks daily and then new fur was progressing also here.
Be prepared that the results come very slowly, so you have to have much patience and do the procedures day after day consistently and persistently.
The lotion is greasy and stinky, and both you and your dog will hate the whole procedure and will feel depressed after some days of treatment but believe me, you shouldn’t give up!
    What can help:
    1. DerMagic (From Mendota) soap bar, DerMagic conditioner bar, DerMagic lotion (or maybe alternative products of Dermacton)
    2. Scrubbing/massaging the black skin with coconut oil (or other oils)
    3. Melatonin was useless by Yudgin as it didn’t help at all!
    4. Omega3 drops (salmon or krill oils)
    5. Biotin, VMP plus, or other pet coat support pills or Dermoscent-Essential 6 Spot on, weekly 0,6 ml
    6. Probiotics
    7. We heard in some cases Castration could help, but we don't know (we made a temporary chemical castration for a half year and it was ok).
    8. A LOT OF LOVE, CONSISTENCY, AND PERSISTENCE ❤️
And NEVER! NEVER! NEVER! let the vets or groomer shave or cut the fur short. The undercoat shouldn’t be destroyed then unfortunately the AlopeciaX will come back.
    Hugs, Rita & Yudgin
