Imagine if they did keep making Tintin adaptations with improvements in animation and this same creative use of it/set pieces. So many cool scenes we could have seen:
- The mummy nightmare and Incan civilization from "Seven Crystal Balls" and "Prisoners of the Sun"
- Zero G physics, space travel and lunar landscapes in "Explorers on the Moon"
- The Himalayas in "Tintin in Tibet"
We did get a reference of “Tintin on the Moon” with Haddock and Snowy doing a similar scene during the seaplane flight in the movie.
You do realize what you have mention here are what make a Good and Fun film to watch, Yes? Current Hollywood can't allow that. Or else how are they going to appeal to wider "Modern audience" by sticking to the actual source material? And especially "Tintin in Tibet", Why would they dare to invest in a movie they certainly can't milk from CCP?
There are talks that Peter Jackson signed on to direct the next movie, which will adapt “Prisoners of the Sun”
The Himalayans and the Incas plots worked 60 years ago, now they are a cliche and a bit racial.
And sadly, after what happened to that Titanic submersible, we are not getting a movie with the iconic shark submarine.
These two just solved this entire city’s water shortage by accident

@@juanmanuelpenaloza9264 hence the “by accident” part
No they destroyed
There was no shortage; the Sheikh was hoarding all the water and forcing the peasants to ration it amongst themselves!
@@IsaiahRichards692 how rude
Gotta love how well they animated a sequence to make it look like it was done all in one take. One of the best chase sequences in cinema
this movie came out in 2011 and is still mineblowing how well animated it is, its better animated than most movies coming out in 2024!
"Tintin... we can NEVER come back to this city."

John Williams really did a fantastic job with the soundtrack, i can't imagine the movie without it.
2:58 My bro Tintin casually destroying a house in half
Rewatching this in 2023 I realized how the sequences, transitions the action scenes the choreography and storyline of the whole film are so ahead of their time 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I just hope they consider a live action.
The animation's so realistic it practically already is live-action
Originally Peter Jackson wanted to do a live action
This is just a personal thing, but I don’t think that animated movies need to be remade in live action. Animation is a legitimate medium, not a stepping stone to something more “real.” This isn’t great IN SPITE of the animation - it’s great BECAUSE it’s animated.

The magic of great art direction, animation and motion capture
Props to Weta for doing 100% of the Mocap animation
Now that I realize Tintin literally set off a Nathan Drake-style escape and chase, destroying everything in his path. Yes, it was well animated for the time it came out.
This looks like an amazing 3-D ride
The original Uncharted franchise before Uncharted and Indiana Jones were a thing.

And with so much relevant social commentary at the time (as well as battling Axis Powers just like Indy Jones).
This is something you would see in an Uncharted game.
Apparently this scene was inspired by the tank chase chapter in Uncharted 2, and in turn this scene inspired the bike chase in Uncharted 4. Creative minds showing each other respect.
My goodness the scene direction in this sequence is amazing. I remembered being blown away by it in theatres and rewatching it now years later it was every bit as good as I remembered it.
Fantastic chase sequence, easely the highlight of the movie (the rest of the movie was stellar too)

This should have become a franchise instead of Despicable Me.
I swear this feels more like an Indiana Jones type of chase! 😮😂
I absolutely enjoyed this movie when it came out, but it's only now, looking back, I can appreciate just how well-made it really is!

Tin tin: I’ll have those thank you 🙏🏽. 1:04
This chase scene is so intense, especially Haddock clumsily fired a bazooka at the wrong direction...
It felt exactly like when Indiana Jones's father destroyed his own plane tail with a machine gun by accident. And also the side car bike chase. Both movies were directed by Spielberg.
I wish that they made sequels, or at least a series with just good graphics and animations.
I am getting very strong uncharted vibes
Now that you mention it...
This is original Uncharted franchise, dum dum...
This is basically an off-brand Indiana Jones movie. And Indy inspired Tomb Raider, and they both inspired Uncharted.
@@EGRJ You do realize TinTin franchise started in 1930, right?
Indiana Jones nor Uncharted were a thing since from that time.
And comics always had action such as in this movie.
@@EGRJSpielberg learnt of the Tintin series after releasing Raiders of the Lost Ark and a bunch of people compared it to Herge’s work. Temple of Doom then took a lot of influence from Tintin.
Star Wars as music lmao. Thanks John
I like how they both have animal companions that they care about even though one is evil the other is good
2:43 if Andy Serkis was 11th Doctor
Okay, let's be real though, Andy Serkis would kill it as The Doctor.
This movie is a modern classic. 😌
Better than the so-called "best chase scene" of Uncharted
This is peak cinema animation right here, if only other animation studios do it for hard work and not for an easy buck
As I grew older I learned:
This movie is great asf
Literally Undercharted movie but good
Cgi and special effects can look like straight up reality with a lot of passion and freedom instead of time rushes and coorporative production cuts
Agreed :)
a Harley WLA with a Steib Sidecar, interesting combo ngl
The Uncharted movie we got before the Uncharted movie.
1:00 best 1 long shot of grabbing the scrolls while going downhill + avoiding the enemy
Es lo más Uncharted que he visto. Gran película, para mí, la mejor secuencia de la peli 😂
after the news from the director I hope it's true for a sequel
Love this movie to death, but I have to admit : that whole Thomson and Thompson in the tank thing is a severe incoherence in this scene.
wish they made another one of these but this chase scene is good because it keeps up with the silliness but has intense action
I has a crush on tintin ❤❤😘
What…?
Well, me too
Badass Scene
This scene really gave me a Indiana Jones vibe!
Now there is an LCBO strike I bet captain Haddock shouting "Blistering Barnacles another strike" 😡 😆😀
I remember this movie being solid despite tepid reviews...
Clearly my recollection was right.
Adventure of TinTin = Garten of BanBan
I guess uncharted 4 from 2016 stole this 2011 movie scene, because it’s almost similar.
What's with the Garten of Banban mentions?
Yo they were riding an Indian motorcycle (the American motorcycle company mind you). Indians primarily had the shifter on the right side, unlike Harley Davidsons that had them on the left side, though some were built like Indians such as the Harley UMG which is a 74ci flathead made specifically for the NYPD (funny enough they didn’t get the contract because they used the 74” rather than the 80” version making it essentially an Indian) and some custom motorcycles where the customer specifically asked for the shifter to be on the other side. Its also a bit odd that he never shifted at all (or at least from what I could tell). It’s a very small detail that you probably wouldn’t notice if you didn’t know to look for it.
It might have variable transmission which does not need shifting.
@@vksasdgaming9472 Indians didn’t have those at the time from what I remember. This bike is most likely a 1930s to 1940s era Indian (maybe a chief) which primarily had Manual tank shift system.
@@uncleyoda1834 Variable transmission would have explained why he never shifts. Time period is quite impossible to say, but my guess is after WW2. Shoulder-fired rocket and obvious Jeep are big tells.
@@vksasdgaming9472 this is an entirely impractical but plausible explanation but they could have shaved 1st and 2nd gear to leave 3rd (a 1:1 gear ratio) and reverse. Then they would only need to shift at most once and could just dump the clutch like they’re drag racing. I saw something like this on les myer’s panhead drag bike if I remember correctly. It’s on wheels through time’s CZcams channel. Pretty cool bike imo.
@@uncleyoda1834 No doubt, but as it is drag racing bike such unorthodox solutions can be understood. I don't think motorcycles have reverse gear as they are practically impossible to control going backwards.
Most likely explanation: nobody bothered animate gear shifts in already difficult scene. Especially when such maneuver would also have effect on sound design as well.
