- Another of my favorite roguelites, although different than FTL, this game has many of the same mechanics that make the game a fun and challenging experience for new players.
Pro tip: if you have flight you can cheese the shooting range game by flying up to the targets and shooting them. Guaranteed black chest.
I believe it can also be a red chest as well but still, good tip ^^

You can also use wax wings to carry the busted television over pits
the key to detecting mimics is by first entering said chest room. if the chest slightly opens up before closing back, that's definitely (the work of an enemy stand user) a mimic

I know right lmao, ever since I've learned that I've NEVER opened a chest immediately, and I always question why people do it?
Same with just shooting the chest outright, if your unprepared and low on health you could die immediately to something to preventable
So I always check if a chest is breathing

@@cloewillow oh I'm not saying you shouldn't ever kill a mimic, I just personally never shoot a chest automatically, I just always check if it's breathing first and then if I'm prepared I let loose lol

Thank you for the video, really nice to watch. Got close to killing the the boss on the first level for the first time last night, but got too greedy and died when the last twin had like 10% hp left.
I struggle immensely with this game but at the same time it's so downright satisfying.
Honestly, if I get hit during the first floor boss, I almost always restart. It's not worth continuing without the first Master Round. The only time I wouldn't is if I pick up something super valuable on that floor.
The first master round is definitely super important, but your HP is only as good as the last container!

Why is the first master round so important?
This guy's run: here have a gun that can serve as infinite keys, cigarettes, 6 half hearts to use it on and enough money to buy Brazil
My run: best I can do is half ammo and 20 money

The black market will open either when you have one level of curse or have at least 100 shells. All the items sold there are cheaper, aside from the ones that need keys, and the shooting gallery will always be there.
Pedestal Mimics have an easy tell. The dots along the edge form a mouth and set of blinking eyes.
And if you fill the troll door with liquid it will give you a random grade A or S item
Hilariously enough, when I started playing gungeon, my original favorite character was huntress. but after less than 50 runs where I didn't even get to the dragun, my favorite character became pilot because getting used to a bad weapon seemed to be my strategy for overcoming all of the other issues. The cheap prices and extra slots made it seem like my best bet and I played well over 90% of my runs with him ever since.
Not saying this is for everyone but for me that was all I needed to get everything unlocked when I got good with these runs. Now that I have done so much and looked back on it it's kind of interesting looking at how other players handled those challenges
Yeah the pilot is fr really damn good. The lower shop prices come in clutch more times than not

Pilot rocks. "Bad starting gun" is just to try to balance all his other wild upsides.
Tips and tricks to win the game:
Get insane first floor luck and get the space turtle & Akey47 😂😂😂
It's a classic example of youtuber luck, they'll get god tier stuff fast meanwhile we'll still somehow be using the starter pistol on floor 5
apparently having the akey-57 means you dont need keys to open the oubliette, because at 12:55 he opens it without losing any keys.
He spoke about it in at least 13 different instances. but the vid should help ofc. The comment section is full of tips

@@alexzedostuff8591he originally mentions that he thought he didn't need keys but tries to shoot them anyways and since it doesn't open either of the locks, he goes to continue exploring the floor. then he goes to try and open it afterwards when he gets a second key, not making mention of not needing keys after all.
So probably thought you needed to shoot the locks anyways, instead of interacting with it, unlike with any other type of lock.
If your playing on a console then dont forget to remap your blank button. Cuz having to press both the L and R sticks is a pain
I just came here after I finally beat the past for all 4 characters. Took me 78 attempts overall.
Now is time for bullet hell, Find the elevators and get the platinum trophy and unlock the robot and the bullet

Just some advice: When first going to bullet hell, use the paradox. You’re going to try to kill the Lich either way, so why not try to unlock the gunslinger at the same time?
Here's my tip: If you get the BFG, save it for bosses. If you get the Glass Canon, save it for bosses and try not to get hit. That is all.
The Pilot is honestly the best starting gungeoneer if you ask me. Yeah his starting gun is really bad, but literally everything else he starts with is awesome. Lockpick for a chance at free chests (like browns and blues), lowered shop prices, and an ammo increase and extra active slot right off the bat. None of the other starting gungeoneers have starting bonuses that impactful. I still use Pilot even after unlocking the other characters, and I never touch the Hunter, Convict, or marine.
Lol i went for the marine just because he starts with armor and my monkey brain likes armor

Can someone tell me what the icons on the HUD indicate? I know the red hearts are health but what about the gray icon, yellow icon and blue icon.
Grey is your keys, for chests and doors, yellow is your money that you use in stores etc, and blue are your blanks that you can activate to immediately destroy all bullets on the screen, useful for trying to flawless those bosses!;)
I couldn't beat the game but after playing rainbow mode it helped me a lot with knowing what Guns to use and I manage to beat the game with most characters ( I have only kill the past)
Thanks to the rainbow runs, I menaged to unlock gunslinger and have defektem Lich. Im not good at etg but i want to complete the game WITHOUT rainbow czests so i need to learn playing without breaking the game (cuz I was doing this on rainbow runs as i got clone and super hot watch). But still, rainbow runs are very helpful in completing the game
you literally need to beat the dragun first before unlocking rainbow mode

Dude you had an amazing run. The key gun, Black Market, Bee Stinger synergy, Daruma, owl, an ammolet?!! Extra ironic you didn't get all these master rounds (I know the feeling)
The most territying part of the video was when I was almost afraid you were going to leave the floor without going to the Black Market, because you forgot what it was 😂
And then let's not forget cigs with so many health AND the coin crown. So many keys and money.
Ahahaha ok scrap what I said about the Black Market - almost losing Daruma for a Jetpack was the most terrifying part

Thank you for making this. The run after i watched this I killed my past for the first time, not sure whether this was dumb luck or thanks to your tips. However, either way I found this video entertaining and I will definitely subscribe. Edit: Can you make a guide to unlock the robot character easily cus i have the tv but it will be difficult to unlock him
It’s prob the same except drop the tv when you enter a room and pick it back up before you leave, using the pilot may help as he can carry two active items
I just did it with the pilot, not easy and I got an item that let me fly which def makes it easier but just keep trying and you’ll do it eventually if you haven’t already

Only started 2 days ago, made it as far a floor 3, couple of perfect boss clears but this game scares me.. i do well then the next room I get mauled.. practice practice I suppose!

I disagree with ur opinion of pilot. Yes he does have a rly bad gun but his other abilityes are far more benefical than thoes of the other 3 u start with, u just less powerful early game so that u can be morepowerful mid and lategame.

You can only safe your current run on the red buttons right before an elevator. Progress like unlocking Charakters is safed tho.
24:02 The first time I used the gun muncher I got the pea shooter. Then the shopkeeper said you have been warned and killed me with a shotgun, I will never gun munch again. It also said I was killed by justice.
its just because you shot in the shop, nothing to do with the gun muncher.

I should have watched this before buying the game. I hate how games demand so much of your time for you to understand and get good and beat them. Makes me not want to play games anymore. I would rathar just watch someone play the game and move on.
Nothing worse than going into what looks like a casual indie game and learning it's just another unforgiving timesink that's hard for the sake of it. Total laziness so devs don't have to build actually compelling gameplay.

Not be a pedantic bozo, but it most definitely is a roguelite, should get your definitions clearer. The definitions are pretty blurred these days since everything has features that claim to be rogueLike, but true roguelikes have 0 meta progression, you start completely from scratch every time, among other features like generally including dungeon grid turn based combat, random items with random effects every run, perma-death and other things that make them actually like... Rogue. Good examples are Cogmind, Caves of Qud, Tales of Maj'Eyal etc
Roguelites take the basic features of Rogue, such as perma-death and run based formats, and adds new twists and features such as meta-progression, permanent changes to the game as you play, and entirely new game systems and ways to play, like FTL or Slay the Spire or Darkest Dungeon etc. Last time I checked, Gungeon has new items to unlock, new shortcuts, new NPC's to unlock new features etc.
