    This video is very helpful to me and I am very thankful to you for making these kind of tutorials. Also, the minor tweaks and adjustments that you do to various settings provides a lot of insight into blender.

    • @-AT-WALKER
      @-AT-WALKER Před rokem

      It's all very well put together, production value, attention to small details in settings. Totally agree, all very helpful!
      Plus most of the Blender channels I've sub'd to are quite boring to listen to and keep up with after the first 5 minutes of click this, this and this to do this. Sophie breaks it down whilst producing something that could be sent to print... using BLENDER!

      It really is! Each image I've seen has a certain life to it and that's a HARD skill to learn for most people. First time the channel was recommended in my feed I clicked thinking I was about to watch a method for live tracing a photograph in Blender😂 watched the image being drawn and had that 🤯 look on my face.

    • @SophieJantak
      @SophieJantak  Před rokem +2

      Hey, I'm so happy to hear that! And thank you :)

      @@SophieJantak Reproducing a photo is one thing, that's a skill I could teach a beginner with enough time, it's just measurements if you strip it all back. Breathing life into it is a completely different skill as the Artist needs to understand the decisions they're making IMO and you're doing it whilst explaining a technical program, yeah 🤯
      As others have commented, it's a combination of many things that bring your work to life, from my point of view your application and understanding of colour theory (and line weight) are highly impressive! Not that my opinion means anything but being able to draw accurately should be the base requirement for any Art qualification and it really isn't that way where I'm from... your work is refreshing and has an "Aaron Blaise" feel to it👌

    I would have never thought about using the distance from the stroke starting point to offset the gradient, really neat.

      @@SophieJantak Oh I wish YT was consistent with notifications (apologies for the delayed reply)
      Sophie your work speaks for itself, each video I've watched has been amazing due to your attention to detail in all aspects. What REALLY stands out is your ability to draw images that look like photographs that have either been live traced with illustrator or run through photoshop filters - no easy feat for 99% of the population!
      All it's going to take is a little push from the YT algorithm and that first play button will be yours. I can't support financially at the moment but for now, I'd really like to engage with the community you've created and encourage the algorithm gods to give the channel that push.
      Onwards and upwards!👍

    29:00 right here I can tell you're someone who misses the history brush from photoshop. Whenever I sculpt a lot and want to see the difference, I just make a copy of the GP object to compare/contrast.
