It depends on your disability. I was awarded benefits when I was only 25. I got it the first time trying with no lawyer no judge no nothing. I got it in four months and now I'm transitioning from Ssi to disabled adult child so yeah you can get disability at any age as long as you could prove it like I did thank you very much.

I have been through this once before. Was turned down 3 times. Most likely cause I didn't do it right. And would like to get help through you folks. I've spoke to Jan via phone. I canceled my application phone date. Because of fear of not having the right information. Just need more help and reassurance on what correct and what's not.. Don't want to have to wait 4yrs again. I'm doing therapy for my back, hands and neck. Now. As my doctor suggested.
I'd appreciate a proper direction and have some of my medical in place.
And following through some of the processes for proof. My PCP is helping me with this as well. Thankyou for your help this far. I would travel to come to Vermont for your help, not a lot of help here. Thank you for all you do.
    It's appreciated.

@@TheDisabilityDigestsounds like your talking to me.
My employer paid all attorney fees and helped me get SSDI. Then like you said after two years I converted to regular SS and went on Medicare .
Listening to you makes me wonder if there are benefits that I should have gotten and didn’t know about .
At the time just getting SSDI and the regular SS was a relief.

Thank You. Ive been disabled for over 10 years. I broke my neck 2x. 1994 and again in 1999. It took 8 moths to get approved. I was always looking for work during the 8 maths. I was turned down for work due to my neck. Im 63 and had to take my retirement. SSDI gave me $154.00 retirement. I was getting at that time $946.00 from SSDI . I get $792.00 SSDI and 154.00 retirement. The same amount before 63 years old. Is this amount correct? I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis 6 years ago. I live in Georgia. Thank You

I heard the amount doesn't change from disability to retirement from age 62 to 63. It would be nice if they sent you a letter of your update.

Do you think a person is ok to sell a little on eBay say $300.00 a month of their things, if they receive say $27;000 a year and have nothing else?

    • @TheDisabilityDigest

As an expert on Social Security Disability Benefits, I can tell you that the Social Security Administration (SSA) has specific rules about income and work activity for individuals receiving benefits. Generally, the SSA allows you to engage in a limited amount of work without affecting your benefits. For 2024, you can earn up to $1,550 a month and still apply for your Social Security Disability benefits.
However, selling personal items on eBay is typically not considered "work activity" by the SSA, as it's often seen as a way to convert personal assets into cash rather than a form of employment. But it's important to note that every situation is unique and the SSA may consider other factors.
If you have specific questions about your situation, I recommend contacting the SSA directly or consulting with a disability benefits expert.
