    I like to think that the Rebel/Scum version of the Z-95 is a cheaper civilian version of the ship

    Always enjoy getting hairy Nicks take on new x-wing content! Idk what else to say, other than I hope my comment helps the CZcams algorithm

    To those commenting "they can just assign 0 points of upgrades to a pilot to prevent them from taking a torp or missile"
    1 - That creates needless confusion for new players. IE, the card says you can assign a torp or missile but in fact, that's not possible
    2 - There is no option to give a pilot SOME amount of upgrade points, but prevent them from taking ordinance. See; several pilots that have a weird selection of upgrade options in 2.5. It needlessly homoginises the frame.

      I agree, though I think AMG is still going to do it. As you said these rules were clearly designed before the rules change and I think 0 loadout to 1 named pilot is still preferable than an errata of the card. I'm curious about the points, given that with the optional boost it is strictly better than the scum/rebel frame.

    3:30, slight correction. Ahhav and the Autopilot Drone are the other two 2 point ships on the scum faction.

    Great vid. I would like to note some things that I think could be interesting:
    I actually think that the C-headhunter might have a 2 point variant because Contrail is worth 2 points despite the fact that you can put besh on them and give them a device slot they cant use so i do think there is a chance that contrail or some other pilot could be a 2 pointer even with the weapon hardpoint. Also I really like the idea of contrail with the versatile frame ability, that would be pretty fun.
    Also the way i imagine the headhunters getting worse over time lore wise is because the empire redesigns it into something better like the interceptor, whilst the rebels can only find very old versions or leftover carcasses of the headhunter so their versions are kinda worse, and/or the rebels made two version of the C-headhunters, a cheaper version which is the headhunters we see the rebels using, and X-Wings which are improved C-headhunters.

    The reason why the republic stuff is better is because every Clone Wars ship used by the Rebels and criminal factions in the GCW is a stripped out version of its former self. For example the Rebel Y-Wings are just the Republic Y-Wings with all their armour stripped and systems gutted.

    This is one of my favorite Scum ships, i’m glad to see that another faction gets to play with it.

    I think the weapons part of the versatile frame actually makes a bit of sense. Sure; it's a bit awkward from an "ability to adjust slots" perspective; but it allows us more options without something maaybe broken. For example, we can't carry ion torpedoes *and* proton rockets on the same ship, regardless of how the points work out. Having either one on a cheap-ish ship seems fine; having both seems a bit problematic...

  • @clayclarke577

    About the Rebel and Scum Z-95's being worse than the Republics', the ships aren't new, they're basically pre-owned from the Clone Wars. Rebels and other parties would buy them for cheap to fill out their Navy. Since they're older ships that had plenty of parsecs on 'em, it makes sense that they shouldn't be as good as a fresh out the factory batch that the Rupublic got. I dont remember where I read/heard that lore, so if anyone knows otherwise, fill us in.

    I don't think the baked in ability takes away the option of having a 2 point pilot. They can still do that by having having 0 loadout points.

    I love the Z95's Versatile Frame: giving a bonus action option for blue maneuvers is great. I don't think they will regret the ordinance option.
    THAT BEING SAID: They cannot just accept that they are stuck with the decisions they made when they first released the Z95? If you want to have cool ship abilities, you have to put out a config so the other factions have the same technology.
    So much hate for Fel's wrath... It is a pity because the character deserved better. His ability should be "if he is a wingmate for Soontir Fel, you don't have to have another wingmate."
    Then they need to release DS-181-4 (Turr's wingmate)

    • @HairyNick
      @HairyNick  Před 2 lety

      Agreed, a config would have been a stronger move.

    Hopefully this ship isn't too similar to the torrent and V-wing stats similar to the naboo. The republic is already top dog, so it would be nice to see them get some mediocre ships in the line up.

    I just think AMG is trying to make all thier properties just like crisis protocol.
    I enjoy the game, but think 2.5 was developed with zero communication between developers. It is not a simpler game as they try to use to validate thier claims.

    • @HairyNick
      @HairyNick  Před 2 lety

      Re: dev communication.
      I don't think that was a concious decision by AMG. Seems like the powers that be from Asmodee kind of dumped this all on them, and they are just chugging along making the game the best way they see fit. I don't think it's necessarily the best thing for the game but I certainly don't blame AMG.

  • @GDRking_yt

    they can just give 0 loadout to the 2 pointer
