Wow man you are a life savior! I need one of these because i cant have any stereo system that can get the metallic lit closed. How much did you Purchase this unit and are you satisfied with it? Can you play video clips with it and if that is a yes, is daytime is it bright enough? Thank you in advance for all your answers
Hi sorry slow response didnt get notified had a comment. It was around £55 not expensive really. You can alot with it. However the maps function only works if usb connect your phone charger cable to unit this enables the car play function unfortunately this unit doesnt do it wirelessly. Again sorry slow response
The screen is a good display. Good pixelation. I personally have not used video play but have used maps on unit and very clear. I use amazon music for my music streaming with this i habe alexa and as i have mic installed this works like alexa at home

Thank you for comment. I already had them i bought cheap inserts off ebay just to fill holes left and right they come in two pieces screw on amd cover. Had to trim tabs that stick out with scissors and sandpaper byt small adjustment

How is the head unit holding up?
@@babzpeter1 its fantastic for what i need i have fiscon mic installed as one my previous videos. The android play good and bluetooth amazon music all work great. Works on key off/on etc
Hi there - Great little unit. I'm finding the Incartec radio fascia fittings that sit either side to fill the ends are setting the stereo too far forward to enable the flap to close. Did you have to adapt the two fascia blocks at either end by trimming down the edge nearest the stereo to enable the stereo to sit back far enough to allow the flap to close properly?

In terms of your question, valid indeed. The tabs at top and bottom, I cut them off and used sandpaper smooth them out, they dont need to function( e.g push head unit forward) as it locks into frame. So you have gap filled if that makes sense? The top and bottom stick out bits chop them. I used sharpe blade stanley type hope this helps anything else give me a shout👍
I’ve also found despite having bought the right incartec cable with the canbus ignition the unit performs a little unpredictably. Sometimes not turning off with the ignition switch and also at times rebooting if the ignition is on and you have been listening to music and then start the car.
Wired CarPlay is fine, Bluetooth also good.
Using the units radio randomly triggers the graphic equaliser into some overloaded loud setting so there is a need to reset the graphic equaliser to default every time I use the onboard radio.
There’s some serious heat production off a usb flash drive if used as a data source for music/video. So much so I’m a little concerned it’s a fire risk so that’s taken out now.
For the price of the unit plus the cables (which are actually more expensive than the unit) it’s still a useful upgrade if you are after Bluetooth for music and handsfree functionality and also wired CarPlay for navigation.

You are right. Sometimes if for example you got to get fuel. The system loses its mind. Rare but happens. As in you start car and cant switch on head unit. As it runs of the key/ignition when you park up and turn engine off, the stereo still plays whilst key in the ignition. When removed and open door and lock car with key never an issue. However open door and leave car and leave unlocked seems to confuse car(unit) so as with any mod there is always a niggle. So as long as you exit vehicle e.g( press fuel cap open) exit vehicle and lock stops the 1 in 10 times stereo doesnt turn on when get back in car, if that happens at all.
USB/Memory stick. Personally never used one. The reason for switching to after market in first place is Maps/screen mirror and bluetooth functionality, i use amazon music and playlist on my phone( and i have alexa) due to fiscon mic installed so voice controlled song/playlist changes, as well as clear telephone calls. So for me i dont need to habe pre loaded USB Stick so i have no further insight on that front unfortunately.
You are right the positives outweigh the odd niggle. But you are right to not use USB just run through your phone. In fairness if you have the latest mobile phone. When its charging if you touch your phone see it is also very hot from charging.
I once had notification on my DS5 CITROEN turning down radio as too hot? Or words to that effect that was factory fit. Put air con on the it reallowed me to turn up volume. All head units have potential to get warm, just use uour best judgement for your car and go with gut feel:)
@@seanharvey1077 which head unit are you using? Forgot to ask? I will do checks on mine. See if can put update video. I did this video just to show how to upgrade with no rewiring. So i will be upgrding to something more expensive a flip out system. But be good if you have this unit see if can replicate your issues to give answers/solutions.

Hi - Great video! Did the unit fit the slot exactly or require plastic blanking plates on each side of the head unit? Does the unit do Dab+? Does it need a live feed to the ignition switch to stop battery drain or does the incartec harness take care of that?
Hi Mark thanks for the comment much appreciated. It requires plastic blanks either side as only small unit. Interms of DAB+ i would need to check. For myself i use bkue tooth connection from my mobile device, where i have various music applications eg amazon music, heart and global radio and select station heart dance and play so by passing the need to actually use function through head unit. In terms of google maps ways. You would have the map application running on mobile and connect phone to head unit this then shows maps on the screen and enables carplay/apple car play. For a cheap it has alot of features really.
To answer your question about the live ignition. The incartec unit transforms the whole canbus to so the after market head unit turns on and off at the key in same way oem unit does. So no wiring needed it is literally get it out the box plug to car, plug to new unit and away you go. If you have any more questions give me a shout👍

@@markmaynard9626 the unit in video works mainly off apple car play etc. So more screen mirror type device. You would need to look at an android based unit like pumpkin for specific apps to be downloaded as you would a mobile phone if that makes sense. Some units come with DAB+ built in. But usually require booster to be attached on to somewhere like wind screen. So to have clean finish requires glove box removal and trim above door to run wire up pillar and cable tie to it

How is the speed of this on CarPlay? Thinking of getting one but heard a few comments claiming these cheap models can be so slow to interact with
Its wired connection usb as cheap so mot wireless. So depends quality cable used on this example. Ive used a few varients and bottom all tech tbs, head units as far as i know 90s all built in china different label. Interaction speed eg maps is down to the internet connection your using o2,voda, 3 amd location, music play i use amazon music bluetooth no issues

Hi thank you for your comment. The flap closes fine with this unit. As seen in video its a small head unit so fits in radio space with ease. No need to do anything with flap

Hi thanks for comment. I am sure what you mean when you say jumping? Do you mean it is coming out of radio slot? Have you bent the clips for the cage to at top and bottom before pushing unit into cage? The plastic blanks you can buy from any car radio supplier. I did have to trim the ends
