It's so great seeing people out getting crab!!! In Maryland the motto is, there are 2 seasons, crab season, and waiting for crab season. We're in the latter, but it's slowly coming!!!

:) Agreed. In SC, it slows down but doesn't stop often or for long. Thanks for watching!!!

March is also the peak month of crawfish season, in Louisiana we love both 😋

I love blue crabs a ton , however I could never use old bay or garlic powder on them . Crab meat is so tasty all by itself , all the extra flavors kill its natural taste to me , just don’t understand it ! Great video non the less !

Thank you. Yes, I cook them many ways. I have an upcoming video that shows how to cook them in just water and vinegar because, like you, I enjoy just tasting the crab meat in all it's glory as well. Thanks for watching!

Hose the guts of the crab onto your garden. Plants love it.

Definitely a great suggestion for those with a garden. I field clean and put the scraps back in the water. Crabs and fish eat the tissue and the oysters can use the shells to grow. Thanks for watching!!!

You could steam them with putting only 1 in of water in there. You'd keep more old bay on the crab

Thanks for watching. I do steam them sometimes as well when, as you said, I want a little more kick from the spices.

We caught the larger crabs in a canal near the mouth of the gulf

That's essentially where this is... a tidal stream a couple miles off the harbor. Thanks for watching!!!

Hey there. Your best bet would be Northbridge Park. There is a nice dock and pier there. I go there often, much safer. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the compliment. Not sure if the bridge has a name. It's off the Stono River. Thanks for watching!

Perhaps you might like to try using a different bait. Long time ago when crabing was a hobby, I used to catch crab at the mouth of the Singapore River. I experimented witg switching the bait to small fishes (about 4-5 inches in length) and caught 49 crabs in 55 minutes. That day, all the other people in the same crabing spot did not catch a single crab in that 60 minutes I was there. Stopped catching crab after the Singapore government forbid crabing along the Singapore River which is now a tourist spot.

Forgot to add that amongst those who couldn't catch any crab that day was a bloke who used chicken drumstick and wings as bait too
