You pretty quick with a net!
So pleased you tried what many of us had been saying about the chicken necks. I remember being like 5 years old going out into tidal areas with brackish water, a lot like what you have. Crab were everywhere. We hardly needed the chicken necks. Even the kids had kiddie nets and we walked along and just grabbed multiple dozens of crabs. So many, they escaped the coolers and wandered around inside the car as we drove home. That was exiting. Summer heat was not kind to crabs lost in a car. They later died under the seats and such. That was not exciting. Anyway, we'd drag home just insane piles of crabs and feed ourselves and neighbors and still have leftovers. It was delicious and we felt like kings. I haven't been crabbing since those days. More than 40 years ago. But I remember how much fun it was. We were truly blessed. My understanding is the crab is now much more scarce and I do know buying a dozen crabs from a restaurant is insanely expensive. Where we used to go crabbing is probably condos now. I don't want to know. Every time I see chicken necks at the store, or Old Bay, it reminds me of the good times. Thanks for making the videos. It been almost as exciting watching you catch them as I remember.
Honestly the drumsticks stay on the string better for us....... But those necks were a whopping 2 bucks, I think I'll keep using them 😉
Hi, Andrew and Tiffany! Thank you for a very entertaining video. Crabbing is something we cannot do in the western North Carolina mountains. Very interesting!
Thank you for watching
Looks like dinner is going to be yummy. Nice to see you both having a day off and enjoying the crabbing. What beautiful scenery. Looks very relaxing.
It was a great day!
Looks like fun...went and watched the old video to see the finished cook....now I'm really hungry for crab!
Y'all did great! Reminds me of growing up down in Clearwater. We went crabbing every weekend. I don't like crabs, but it was fun.
It is fun!
Nice mess of crabs. Hope ya'll have a wonderful day. Love you guys
Thank you for watching
New subscriber!!! Man the background is beautiful!!! Must be nice to live on the water in FL. I plan to try my hand at crabbing here in MD this season. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for watching
Glad to see ya'll back at it! Enjoy those crabs!!
Thank you
I just moved to Florida but I've crabbed in New Jersey for years. A couple of points: 1. Let your bait "ferment" or get stinky and you'll have even better results. Crabs are like vultures, they eat dead things. 2. What's LEGAL may not be BEST PRACTICES. There seems to be no size limit in Florida, but I won't keep a crab under 5 inches (point to point) to stay well withing the law in NJ. The law in NJ for hardshell crabs is 4 1/2 inches and that seems to be a good standard. Keep no females or immature females (triangular plate) .
Navesink native ? Been slow last few years smh...
Also thank you for picking up the trash down there. I do it every time I go. I even cut the old lines off the dock areas where people just leave it. Shame because there is a trashcan right there too. Sometimes people are just ignorant.
I can't stand it, pure laziness.
I have never seen that particular place in Florida, i grew up doing the same thing your doing. Taught my kids same .
Great video! Can’t beat good blue crabs!
Taste amazing!
Nice catch looks like I'm going to learn how to carb fish on here and I love it
Thank you for watching
Hey guys, missed you and glad your doing well. Great video..
Doing great! Thanks for watching
wow - big haul!
It was delicious
Just subscribed! Trying to take my wife crabbing for the first time. Used y'all's video as a demo. I really need to get some of those long nets.
Good luck!
good video love it blue crabs are good eating
Yes they are
You had lots of fun:)))
Yes we did!
I've never tried crabbing like that, but I for sure will. A buddy of mine and I made a trip out to Ship Island a couple of months ago after hearing reports they were thick out there, and the reports were true. Unfortunately, we were on top of a crab maternity ward, and couldn't keep any that we caught
Oh wow, that's a bummer.
@@TKOutdoors All was good, any day out at the islands is a good day
Amen to that!
Nice crabs nothing like a good crab boil. We try and catch about 6 dozen so we can freeze a lot of the meat and make some good gumbo with them too
I've been curious if freezing the meat turns out, I figured the texture would be off.
Yummy, and I used chicken necks too. My uncle taught that to me years ago.
We just found a store that carries them.
Yep totally agree with chkn necks, but quick & easy everybody has got? Chkn legs. More meat too. I don't think either one actually works better.
I pretty sure this is my first post on this channel so let's make it a good one, I never thought someone would catch the crabs and go public with it:)
It's what we do! 😉🤣🤣
Nice Crabs
Thanks
Wow no crab trap so cool here in Canada Bc we have to set traps around 60 to 100 feed to get crab your very Luck
Crab traps is the most popular method here, but we do have them from 1ft all the way out offshore.
Just found your channel. New subbie. Also the females have red tips on the claws I call them nails lol
Nice! Thats a easy way to identify them.
Good eating
Yes
Where bouts are you crabbing at? Kinda reminds me where I live in citrus county. Nice video
When we go bank fishing we always bring extra bags with us and have no problem filling them with all the trash others leave behind. Really disgusts me, but trying to engrave in my kids heads to leave it cleaner than when you got there.
It is sad!
Dig the shirt been watching the Arms Family for years. How far is this spot from Destin?
About 3+ hours. I personally know Daniel, he gave our other channel a shout out a couple of years ago.
That's my favorite place to go crabbing. I haven't been down there in a few months. Last time I went we literally got not bites at all. I plan to go back very soon. Where did you get chicken necks at? I've been crabbing up north all my life. Haven't been crabbing long down here though.
Save a lot!
We use to put necks in stockings so crabs couldn’t get away!
Great idea!
Guys love your crabbing videos....very informative. Where do you get your long pole nets?
From a local tackle store, I'd highly suggest a metal net as it allows easier removal of the crabs.
Been wanting to get down there and get me some. Do you think fishing in those ponds would be good?
The brackish side is hit or miss, but it has fish. The ocean side has trout, reds and flounder. I've caught decent fish down there before.
Eight blue crabs, man you need about 20 of them jokers
Not at all, we put onions, couple pounds of sausage, potatoes and sweet corn in our boil. It's a ton of food.
i would love to see you guys use a ring trap or just any trap in this location
Sadly a lot of theft here. I do have several traps.
@@TKOutdoors oh that sucks but i hope to see new crabbing content with some more traps!!
Great video, where is this place?
I always crab close to a full moon, so crabs are heavy. Do you think it makes a difference?
No idea, we get so few opportunities to go we just go when we can.
I guess you have to be a local to know about those crabbing spots. How long of a drive is it out to the spots. That was a really fun video. Do you have any plans for the base and wheels from the blackstone
About a 45 minute drive for us. It's in the middle of nowhere. No plans yet.
Caught the biggest red fish of my life from that very spot on a fiddler crab
There is a monster gator that stays there too and he ain't friendly
Put your cooler on the dock.
Or have two coolers. A big one in the truck and a smaller one at the water. Fill up the small one and shuttle it up to the big cooler. Tongs would be required lol. Or you can try your luck by hand.
We walk a lot more than the video shows. I'd wind up farther away from the cooler.
Andrew why does the water look so black there where you went crabbing? I noticed the creek water is a blackish color to.
That's all brackish water flowing in and out of muddy swamps.
love the crabbing
Thank you for watching
Hello Andrew buddy how you doing? Man I know it's been a very very long time and I apologize about that. I've been MIA man. I have been in & out of the hospital for a while and just got out last Thursday. Between having infection in my foot , infection in the body , surgery , & stop breathing it's been really really tough. It was so tough at one point and my wife thought she lost me for good so I've been trying to cheer up my wife. She's very happy because I'm still here but it's the worrying part that I worried about in her. I know I missed a lot of videos buddy and I got a lot of catching up to do. It was awesome seeing you and your wife crabbing man. My dad and his cousins and Friends and family had a crab club when I was growing up. They will have a club party every month and they would take turns having it at different locations so we traveled a lot. I was raised up on eating crabs , picking them up and putting them in the pots to cook them & all of that. It was good to watching your video again man I really been missing them. I hope you and your wife are having a good weekend buddy and are doing well.
Buddy I hate to hear that, I was wondering where you've been. I pray that your issues improve and will stay behind you.
@@TKOutdoors thank you so much Andrew I really do appreciate that man. Yes my recovery is doing well Just One Day at a Time and I'm going to have to take it easy for a lil while. Thanks to family and close friends and everyone on my job for praying to God for me to pull through & it's working well. I miss my truck 🚛 so bad man that I haven't seen it in months. I haven't worn my flip-flops in months too & that really bad. " LOL " are you still wearing your flip flops man?
Really sorry to hear that buddy.
What is this area ?
👍💞
Where are you at in florida?
North West gulf coast
Do you need license to go crabbing?
I put the live crabs in the freezer for about 30 minutes and when you take them out, they are so much easier to clean.
I don't believe that you do in our state. But I always buy a full fishing and hunting license, so I am not sure.
Hello from Wisconsin. Do you need a license to catch crabs?
I'm honestly not sure, we always buy a full license package every year, so it's already included.
Well you feed the crabs well
Naaa, those chicken necks are cheap!
Never boil crabs . always steam. He just screwed up good crabs
Well I can tell you that screwed up crabs taste delicious. I also steam them too, I like them either way.
Keep that beautiful woman in that tank top !
