You can listen to Brian each week on the 6:05 Superpodcast at 605pod.com. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Jim really needs to write his autobiography, and preferably release an audio version. I could listen to these stories all day. If not a book, maybe a series of releases of Jim and Brian in conversation about Jim's career in chronological order.
The omnibus series of the 80s they did is pretty close
@@scottgordon9931 Would you happen to have a link to that or know roughly when it was uploaded?. Many thanks
If you go on their channel there’s a playlist of all the omnibus videos
“‘Thank You. F*ck You. Bye.’ by The Honorable James E. Cornette”
@@prestonmoore1602 Thank you
The story about the Nigerian 'financial' guy has to be the greatest story I ever heard and Corny is one of the greatest story tellers...
Hey guys: There are several banks' offices located on Jefferson Blvd. in Warwick RI. I can't say whether there were any banks over there in the early 1990s because I've only lived in Rhode Island since 2001, but the area has a number of banks and even hotels today. Back then...well I can't say. It is an industrial area, but that's not all it is. It's located not far from T.F. Green/Providence International Airport.
What's he know about the summer of 92???
Joe pedecino, the major question remains how he got Bonnie blackstone
Figures Inc toys was based in Cranston RI
What an amazing year in wrestling
You're smoking the hopium. 1991 was not a good year for wrestling, Vince Mcmahon and the steroid trial, bunch of ring boys and several others leaving because of sexual allegations etc.
1:11 - Aloha Jim and *Brain*. I don't know if it's Corny'sdelivery or what but I laughed at that way more than I should have
' Who ever Maddoff with the money...' Lol!
Well damn... how the hell am I gonna cash this check for three mil?
As a millennial wwf mark, undertakers first push is the first thing to come to mind when I hear 1991.
My stepdad use to turn off the lights and come in a black trench coat and a black hat. He was a huge mark for Mark.
@@royalty843 or a sex offender 😳
I would listen to Jim debate the pros and cons of mustard vs ketchup. National treasure is what Cornette is.
That'd be a short debate. Using Corny's own words: "Yellow mustard is a tool of the devil".
The University of Florida shirt he's wearing is an Alligator, not a crocodile.
Orndorff was also in UWF at some time
He should do 95
Thank Jim huge fan live in Louisville. Love the videos
Some fool at CZcams felt it was necessary to stick an advertisement about abstinence in the middle of this video?
Jim's a national treasure.
One year before 1992..
Damn… I thought it was 2 years before 92
Kwab
Is this the Corny and the Brain ?
They're Corny and the Brain
Yes Corny and the Brain
One lives in Jersey
They both are insane
They're say how much it blows
To watch outlaw mudshows
They're Corny
They're Corny and the Brain Brain Brain (ect)
Wait, if Brian is really Brain, would that make Jim Pinky? "What do you want to do tonight, Brain?" "Same thing we do every night, Pinky, try to take over the world!" 😉😂🤣😂🤣
Bring back the 90s 🙌🏽
Mike Lano with a sword? I have to see pictures.
I love the content. You have the best yt channel i've ever seen.
Thee Gordon Scozarree? No, Gordon Howe.
I live in Warwick
Damn I wish Cornette would’ve saved the UWF and Herb Abrams
Your mistake here is thinking that booking was the problem with UWF. Sure Abrams was awful but booking certainly wasn’t what took them down. Herb was. Herb was a major coke addict and likely had blown through the money he had. If you look into UWF Herb was notorious for not paying his venues and often times the wrestlers themselves. I read something that he was sued by the venue owners of the place where they had their very first TV recordings for not paying the owners. How crazy is that? The dude literally didn’t even pay for his very first venues. What a way to start your business venture. I think Honky stink Man said that the check he got for the show he went to for them bounced. I’m not sure how much money the dude had prior to starting the company, but from all the stories it seems that he just snorted away all he had. His girlfriend before he died said that he had major paranoia when he was doing cocaine because he owed a lot of people money. Nothing would’ve saved the UWF.
Can't wait for Jim's thoughts on 1992, especially that memorable summer...
If I recall correctly, it was a sizzling and sweltering heat...
Nobody still knows he set up Smoky Mountain
Rick Rubin
Jim set up Smoky Mountain Wrestling because he was tired of the bull$h!t and shenanigans by Jim Herd and basically Jim wanted to get out of his contract so bad but for whatever reason, Herd wouldn't let Cornette and the Midnights off the hook. It was somewhere around late 91 that Jim and Stan quit because guess what happens? Jim and Stan get to Center Stage and they see on the card that they're gonna be in four tag team matches and they were gonna lose ALL FOUR OF THEM in ONE NIGHT. So Cornette goes to Ole Anderson (RIP) says "Ole, what if we post produce things now? Bobby can't spend a day with his family cuz nobody told him he wasn't working, now we got four tag team matches one night, we could have done two of them yesterday?" Ole says this exact quote "if you don't like it, you can go home".
A Warwick, RI mention.
I live in 2 minutes from Jefferson Blvd.
Warwick, RI is the first time I ever ate Chipotle, lol.
Or as we say in RI. Warwack lol.
The year i was born
Wonder if Bonnie Blackstone hears about this?
The good old days. When I was a kid I'd stay up way past might bedtime watching wrestling all night with Joe and Bonnie on Channel 69 in Atlanta.
The name Scazarri sounds familiar
Year before I was born sounds like some crazy times wish Jim would do few old time hometown shows again as I can't stand to watch current wrestling && in same state so wouldn't even have to take a day off! Wishful thinking
Finally.. good stuff.. not news about shitty current bullshit wrestling
"Letter of credit" LOL!
Letters of credit were a real thing, and were plausible back in the day.
NICE TASH.
Some woman frpm Warwick RI tried to scam me. Good times.
Yo warwick Ri I’m a 10 minute ride away
What is the deal w Mike Lano?
Good question
Anyone here in the cult of Cornette from Ireland? If so, whereabouts?
Yeah I'm sure this skizari guy TOTALLY exists
I'm sure Tammy spent time in the guys' locker room
A real good question to ask here is how high did that packet of checks bounce once the show was over.
Remember, back in 2015 or so when Jim said the only thing that could save wrestling was a benevolent billionaire? He wasn't joking when he said the last hope was gone. Of course wrestling already had an absent minded billionaire in Ted Turner.
Olu Oliami lol
i wonder with jim mentioning a nigerian backer at first i thought he was going to talk about the great power uti now that would have been funny!😄
Year I was born lol
Jim cornette tells great wrestling yarns
Another installment in the great book of The Nigerian Louis Armstrong 🎺
Hopium. Hahaha.
my birth year :)
I miss SMW so much.
Old times
It was a good year to be a 7 foot tall virgin. The last year.
1500 payoff for Cornette to not commentate. Boy he loves making up his life
To me, 1991 was all about Ric Flair jumping ship to the WWF, and the feud between Macho Man and Jake The Snake.
🏈🐒
Hindsight is 20 -20 -but I voted for the worst President in history
Biden?
Anybody actually go back and watch some of the Old Smoky mountain wrestling episodes? 90% of it is freaking unbearable LOL I don't know if it was bad booking or just didn't have a lot of talent coming in but I tried watching a few episodes from right about the midway of the Smoky mountain run... For every one thing good there was a whole show of bad LOL like I said I don't know if I just happen to watch episodes that just happened to suck compared to others but there is no way I would ever take advice from Jim on bookings and running a company if he was the one behind the wheel at the time of the episodes I seen. Not even making a joke there was some episodes of TNA impact that weren't even as bad as most of the Smoky mountain stuff
Any Markyd123 fans on this page
I'm down with the Hawk.
This is such a niche business, it's always cool to hear there are other Corny cultists here in my hometown. Anyone else out there from the 401?
After the last time they talked about this, I checked out the Maps and realized my ex father in laws vending company is in that industrial park. Small world 😂😂😂
My first introduction to wrestling was Summerslam 90. From there up to Wrestlemania 8 was my most obsessed time as a boy watching WWF. So that 20 months or so caught 1991 in full. Great times. I always hated Hogan even aged 8. Undertaker was my favourite even though he was the evil heel. But THEE greatest moment of them all in 1991 was unquestionably Jake Roberts with the cobra on Randy Savage. I remember in school after that happened it was all anyone spoke about.
Yes yes, $1500 in 1991 is just $3000 now. Keeping that Presidential kayfabe alive.
Um Tony Khan the only actual billionaire mark? Ted Turner ring a bell
Ted Turner wasn't a mark.
@@danielburger1775 According to several people including Bischoff he was.
@@goodday2760 Ted Turner knew what was going on. He was willing to lose a few million a year, because he loves wrestling. If that made him a mark...
It was in 1994, when Flair was killing business, that Turner made the decision to shut WCW down. But, when he heard Hogan might come in, he gave it a chance.
From 95-98 WCW made huge $$$ with Hogan on top. But, the Time Warner acquisition of Turner had gone through
All the dumbass decisions, and financial losses were under Time Warner, and then AOL-Time Warner. Not Turner's call at all, and not his company.
But, when WCW was just under Turner, he wasn't a money mark at all.
Plus, WCW was only one of several Ted Turner assets/companies.
And it was Ted's company. His daddy didn't buy him a toy to play with.
You know when you think about life it's crazy..I wasn't born till 95' and when you think of all the shit that happened before your existence and that life was happening without you that's crazy..I'm sorry I'm a little drunk and smoking like a mf 😅
