- Ever see a movie and just think, man that would be cool to have. Very rarely am I in awe of my props, this one turned out awesome. In this episode I show you how to make the Reverse Bear Trap from the horror movie Saw. I made this using PVC, CPVC, random plumbing fixtures, some old wire, EVA foam and craft foam. Let me know in the comments below if there is something you would like to see me build from this series, another show, video game, or whatever. @@MuchProps Btw, I think that you should make the Venus fly trap.
@@valterio9484 I did already. Here you go: czcams.com/video/hNcAAOwfh0o/video.html
@@MuchProps I think its realy cool too.
My husband and I are about to attempt our first “scary theme” Halloween costume this year.. I think this will knock it out of the park! That’s for the tutorial!! 😁
Hopefully it helps. Let me know how it goes. I would love to see how it turns out
I followed this and my trap turned out really good! Keep up the amazing Work!
Great to hear! This was my first prop I ever sold. So it kind of has a special place in my mind. Glad the video could help you out.

This actually scared me that he was doing a tutorial but I'm glad it doesn't work.
LOL. Not to worry, just foam and PVC.
I want it to work
@@ogroles uhhh
your just gonna add some sharp thing on reverse bear trap and put inside of the mouth
The Director did and the crew or whatever but did make a real one that can easily kill a person
‘You are perhaps my, Greatest asset’
LOL
the best part of it that it doesn’t work
That's the worst part lmao
I KNOW RIGHT!?!?!?!?
FALINGO
Cus if that WORK.....
It should be a mortal weapon
Noooo
Another SAW craft that looks good as a cosplay!
You forgot the metal mouth piece the part that actually rips the victims mouth open
... No. he doesnt want the mouth peice ripping a victim mouth open.
cause he will die and he cant make videos anymore

This is awesome. It would be helpful if in future videos you could do a voice over so we know what you’re doing while watching the video. Just a suggestion
Thanks for the suggestion. I have though about doing a voice over, but it kind of annoys me in others videos. But it is something I will keep in mind, if more people would like that.
This is really cool.
Meme lord Does stuff I was super pleased with how it turned out. Looks pretty real
Yes!! Very Very bery very Very Vary Cool!!!👍
I've been working on my own using 3D modelling and a 3D printer and also am running into issues keeping it 100% accurate (especially on the right side area that you gestured to). After a while, I stopped trying to stay completely screen accurate and even added some of my own flair as it seems in the spirit of the plot of the films, considering the myriad of different apprentices. Can't wait to paint and wear mine to cons! Videos like yours have been super helpful.
That is awesome! I have a 3D printer, that I don't really use much at all. My biggest problem is I can build most things quicker than the printer can shoot it out. I did however make something the other day that I would like to turn into a video real soon. It's Fallout related.
Beautiful piece...the paint job is wonderful 🖤
Thanks. This was the first prop I ever sold and am super happy with how it turned out.
amazing as always love your work your videos will be going up in no time
crazynaillover thanks for the kind words. It's nice to hear.
That's an amazing work..... with such symple things.... congrats, looks great
Thanks man 😁👊
Amazing work!
Thank you so much for this! I find the eBay traps are way to expensive and mine turned out way better then the ones on there! Found this just in time for Halloween
Glad it could help. Usually the one I see are very cheaply made with little detail. It was fun to take my own stab at it. I will remember this build probably forever as it was the first prop I ever sold too.
I’m gonna try making this myself because this looks awesome!
Have fun! I would love to see it when you are done.
I love your crafts! I'm not even that good, still I'm pretty good! Keep up the great videos! Also you should do a video on ALL of your crafts (if you have any extra you haven't shown already that would be perfect to add)!
Lumburger Memes maybe I will do a special video at 1000 subs. Possibly a give away.
Eerily spot on, enough to surprise James Wan himself.
:) I don't know if it is that good but it was a pretty fun build.
@@MuchProps Well, but what I've said is that the build is extremely screen-accurate and well-made. Good job nonetheless.
Really cool prop, you deserve more subs.
Thank you very much. It is nice to hear. Glad you like my prop.
This is honestly so cool
thanks so much
About to start making the trap as soon as my foam comes in, you deserve more subs man, i could see you working on actual props for movies !
You are too kind. Thanks. Let me know how it goes

Agree with this idea
Komedi Black Genie. Your Right
The venus fly trap is real but in jigsaw the spikes are rubber
Very well done video with an excellent result :)
Thank you very much!
He's extremely talented
Sometimes he's alright. LOL... thanks.
Making this for Halloween and with the Covid thing this is perfect mask
I would keep my distance for sure if I saw this walking down the grocery isle.
LEGEND
I think i will make a miniature Barbi sized working one. To go with my working Barbi sized Guillotine,Rack, and Iron maiden. Great work, cheers from Ireland!
Watch out Barbie. Cheers from Texas.
Any tips on where to get the foam to make this? Never bought EVA/craft foam before. (Preferably cheap and able to get it quickly)
im trying to make one so i can re create the scene from saw and could you please tell me what materials you were using :) thanks
That was dope!
Appreciate it
@@MuchProps Do you sell stuff like this on Etsy, for instance?
@CinematicTendency I sell most of the stuff I make on Etsy. I generally only make one of an item, though. Sometimes, things sell quickly. This was actually the first prop I ever sold.
@@MuchProps Ok. I just found your store and followed you. Thanks.
He's just like my dad he can build anything. And it looks very good . This guy has to work for jigsaw♥️
Your dad sounds like a cool guy. Glad you like the build, and I do, don't tell anyone. LOL.
That is so cool
Toxic Gaming thanks. I did a random search on movie props and it just popped up. Glad you like it.
Much Props do you have any more saw things
Toxic Gaming I could look for more. I enjoyed the results and it wasn't too difficult. If you think of any just leave them in the comments.
Much Props okay and thank you, keep up the good work😁👍😁😁👍😁😁😁😁👍😁
Toxic Gaming Venus fly trap looks pretty cool. I have a long list of props, just added it. So it could be a while

where can u buy these materials, and which parts did you make out of what?
I like this reverse bear trap
Thanks
@@MuchProps You’re welcome
What do you use to make the rust effect?
Awesome video
Ian Laforet thanks. I have plans to make another Saw trap in the near future.
Much Props try to do the death mask( Venus fly trap )
Ian Laforet that is one of the ones on my list. The other is the water cube.
Much Props what about a pound of flesh trap from Saw VI ? Or a Shotgun Collar ?
Now i watched nearly all of your Videos i can continue my builds!
Your props and vidéos are really great Thomas! Especially the #10 facts... that must be the teacher im you 😂
Great work!!!
Oliver Geist thanks. I like the 10 interesting fact videos, so I just combine it with my making videos to add to those blank areas in the vids.
It looks very authentic. It would be even better if its jaw were mobile.
now all we need is one that can open
Lol. That's a little bit beyond my mechanical expertise.
What are the products you used to paint on that rust?
Sorry i'm late 😂 btw i loved this video
The joy of CZcams, you never late, you see stuff right when you need to. Glad you liked it
Nail it!!!!!!
The reverse bear trap and the venus fly trap are still 2 of my favorite builds of everything I have made. I need to look at building another Saw build.
I could use this for a lot of things
No, the final design of the mask/prop is so good. Oh, and a fact about the thing: you.cant.speak.while.the.trap.is.on.your.head.for.a.reason.or.not
True. I didn't build the mouth plate on the inside. Glad you liked it.
Ima make this and use it for my escape rooms and for halloween
That would be awesome.
This is amazing! I’m thinking of doing one myself. Is there any way to tell how long you spent on this?
I built this over 5 years ago, so I can't give you an exact estimation of time, but most of my builds are done within a week or so. Just a couple hours each day after I get off of work.
I like
any idea on what the thickness is on the foam :O and could I get away with doing it on 8mm question mark
I believe I used floor mat foam, so 10 mm. 8 could definitely get the job done. I would go any thinner than 6 if you are depending on it for structural integrity.
What size craft foam did you use and what is the best glue for this
It's an old video, but I am pretty sure I used floormat foam which is 10 mm when you sand off the textured back. I like using contact cement for gluing, in particular my contact glue of choice is Barge. You could also use hot glue or super glue if you wanted to.
What is the it made from...the black material?
What material do you use? (I guess cosplay foam but there are so many differences)
For this build I use floor mat foam you can get at home improvement stores. Made for like weight room floors. I primarily use some higher quality EVA now that I buy online, keeps me from having to sand off the backside textures.
If I do the gears with bike parts you think they stick to the foamy???
If you used super glue it should be okay.
He had my reaction
“I DONT WANNA PLAY A GAME”
😆
what size foam did you use?
what type of glue?
I used 1/2 EVA for a majority of the build and 2 mm and 5 mm for various detail parts. And for glue I used a generic super glue, must have ran out of my go to Gorilla glue. You could also use contact cement. I just wanted a quick set up. I went back in with hot glue to all the seams to make it look welded.
this was my least favourite torture device, but my favourite in design
Omg😲
I kinda wanna test it on myself
Ok. Its just foam so I would only sit there. Are you a big Jazza Fan?
hey do you have templates to this or your venus flytrap prop? i want to try to make it but suck at making templates
what material did you use to make it it's amazing!!
It's listed in the description
wow
9:24 this looks great!! What were these 3 bottles you were using at the end for the color? And did you use them all together or waited for each one to dry?
The 3 bottles I used are a rust treatment by Modern Masters. You lay down the primer and let it dry, they the iron layer let it dry, and then spray on the activator solution. All together, it takes about 6 to 8 hours if you are letting it air dry. You could speed up the process with a heat gun, but you have to be careful not to overheat the seams on the foam or the contact cement will open back up
where do u get ur foam and also what’s the measurements of the foam
I most buy in bulk online from Blick art supplies. They carry HD foam by SKS Props. I have also bought at craft stores like Michael's, Joann, and Hobby Lobby. In a pinch, you can also find it at home improvement stores like Lowe's, Home Depot, or Harbor Freight. For this build I think it was mostly 10 mm foam
i love crafting stuff like this too, but i gotta ask can you try some from the new movie spiral?
I'll have to take a look at it.
im going to do it... but with metal parts
Cool. Would love to see it.
Real jigsaw?
*JIGSAW WANTS TO KNOW YOUR LOCATION*
How is this black sponge called?
not a sponge, it is foam. and it is called EVA.
I know Halloween is too far but after watching this I might wanna go to parties as Amanda wearing this.
Build it now and have it ready to go for Halloween. Don't do like most and wait to the last minute. This was actually the first prop that I ever sold.
@@MuchProps May I know how much you sold this for?
@@RenzLetan I sold it to a coworker for $150

lol.
What supplies could I use to make this ?
There is a list of materials in the description of the video
Do you have a digital pattern that people could print out and use?
If my build has a template it has a link in the description. They are always for free. I didn't start making usable templates til a little while later in my builds, sorry
I am so inspired! REEEEEE
Wow, that's nice! Great job, man! You deserve to be in a trap.. I mean, you deserve a lot of views LOL
Ok. Thanks... I guess.
How does it kill tho? I never knew how it smashed their heads and all that....
There is a metal bit attached to the jaws in the front and when the timer goes off, the top of the mouth gets pulled backwards
"whats one thing you get side eyes for if youre too good at it"
Bro:
😄 wanna play a game
What materials did you use to make this?
eva foam and PVC pipes
How did you make the screws
It's just an eva dowel rod with a spiral carved in it
what type of foam did you use to build the prop?
Floor mat foam.
@@MuchProps thank you
