It is hard to explain being allergic to water. People just donât believe you. I usually just carry my own drinks around as it is hard to find anything I am not allergic to while I am out.
I have Cholinergic Urticaria, which is like Aquagenic Urticaria, but instead of water, it's heat. It's not as bad as Aquagenic, given that the symptoms with CU have more treatments and could be avoided completely. I've also heard of an Urticaria that makes you "allergic" to the cold, but I know less of that one.
I'm guessing you live in a cold climate? I'm from Phoenix Arizona. It's pushing 110 degrees (43c) this week.
Iâve got aquagenic urticaria, I feel your pain

Iâm actually am allergic to water. I was fine until I was about 13 and then I started getting hives when showering. It slowly got worse but it never got very severe. I can easily drink water and I only have a reaction if the water touches my skin for about 10 minutes. I went to the doctor when I first had a reaction and she said it would go away after about a year and it could be related to my mum being allergic to the sun but it never went away. I âm 16 now and I think this allergy is one of the reasons why I have a fear of water and showering. I havenât been diagnosed because it only mildly affects my life and I can even go swimming because the hives arenât too bad but itâs uncomfortable.
Hey, i feel you. I know this was a while ago, but i just got diagnosed with this condition and have the exact same response to it. Push through buddy, you got this.
My brother is 15 and developed Aquagenic Urticaria when he was 12. Each time he would be exposed to water he would develop painful welts all over his body (to the point that they covered his entire torso or legs or whatever part exposed). He was diagnosed and began monthly Omalizumab (Xolair) injections, so far they have been working incredibly. He is now able to live a normal life, thankful for these shots. Thankful for funding and some coverage as these are over $1200 per injection. This video is really fascinating, I did not even realize just how rare it is.

I hope I never become allergic to water
just to point it out, that allergy ain't THAT dramatic. when i get out of the shower, i have about 2 dozen pimple-sized red spots. they stop itching & dissappear within 15min when i just spray a skinfriendly disinfection spray on them. most of the time they don't even start itching if i ignore the minimalistic desire to scratch in the veryfirst beginning.
Many people have no allergy to water but are lazy to take the shower lol
Bruh , how can an organism be allergic to something that composes 70% of their body?
literally tho!
That would be because the water is in tissue within the body, and this 'allergy' is a reaction on the surface of the skin

Imagine how tough it is for those 50 people during quarantine, you don't wash ur hand then it's risky to get exposed with virus
I never thought about that at all!!!!
Nice I love your vids
I always check the weather before grabbing the house.
I'm allergic to nickel, bees, peanuts, exercise, & heat. I suffer anaphalaxis every year. I always have allergy meds epipens etc with me. Even to the neighbors.
But wait, if you are allergic to water. And you get water eyes when having a reaction.. you would have a infinite loop of reactions..
I suffer from Food-Dependent Excercised induced anaphylaxis. My first time experience it at 16, during gym class about an hr after lunch. Very unplesant but now I'm used to it and you began to know what and how to avoid them. The worst break out I had was once I literally drove myself into the emergency room with my car still running I ran inside the ER before they got me a crash cart and gave me a shot.
I wonder how accurate those numbers actually are. My mom and I both have this allergy. I don't know if she's ever been to the doctor for it and gotten a diagnosis, but I definitely havent. Since I was born, I've always gotten an allergic reaction to water. Not from drinking it. But getting water anywhere on my skin will give me itchy and painful hives. I was never taken to a doctor because my mom has it and so she never worried about it being dangerous. I have to swim and shower with contacts on because if the water or steam gets directly on my eyes, they'll swell shut all day and I just have to wait it out. But because I haven't seen a doctor about it, I'm obviously not part of the statistic. And its really unlikely that my mom is either.
greetings, fellow sufferer. here in germany we're over 300 with this and we're only a pop of 80mio. i personally conclude that it's less the water then much more the chemicals inside, because i did not get it on tenerife-vacation until they built their first sewage-clearery.
oh and the red dots will dissappear if you just spray some skinfriendly disinfection spray ("SOS" for example) on them and then don't scratch; much better if u completely refuse to scratch from the very beginning.
This allergy can be genetic (I have it to)
Wierd thing is i am watching this video in bathtub
Bruh you're just flexing at this point
Weird *
I feel sorry for everyone who has to live like this
you gotta make a video on that vibration one im curious
I had this weird reaction when I went into the Gulf of Mexico, I just went into the water up to my ankles and about 15 minutes later I had hives and it was so itchy
I'm slightly allergic to coffee and I also have physical urticaria, specifically with pressure.
I can't touch vinegar without breaking out in hives and my flesh rapidly tarnishes/eats through sterling silver. Said silver also irritates my skin... Hence why some call me a werewolf.
I like how the ads are for dry shampoos
I'm gonna flex real quick on all the comments lol.
I have Aquagenic, Cholinergic, and Cold Urticaria.
I figured out 2/3 of those allergies through going into anaphylaxis after swimming lessons, and I've just accepted at this point in time that I will have moments in my life where I'm living in pain.
I'm only 18, so it's possible these allergies will let up, but I'm not holding out for anything. I live in Canada, it's cold, and i just put on my hat to go to school (somewhat over my forehead) while I'm writing this, but I started sweating and now my whole face is red and itchy.
I've gotta go now, but I'd love to get to know how many other people are out there with similar allergies. I've never met anybody else with my allergies (irl), and it gets really lonely sometimes.
How is that a flex đ

Imagine having this and living in Seattle
A sunlight allergy runs in my family and my dad gets really bad sunburns even when he puts on the strongest sunscreen he can find and only stay in the sun for short periods of time. He was moving the lawn the other day, covered head to toe in thick fabric, sunscreen on his face (only exposed area), was only outside for an hour max, and yet he STILL got sun burnt.
Watching this gave flashbacks to my allergic reactions
imagine when she found out she was allergic, she just blew up
I used to be allergic to cold. Got major hives and swelling. Disappeared eventually in my twenty but developed into something more tarafing a few years later to chronic hives. So on both multiple H1 and H2 blockers, and topical treatment for the rest of my life or if it decides to morf again. Fun!

I saw this on a talk show over a decade ago
I had hives when I was a little kid, and to this day, I still don't know why I got it. (On the plus side, I got to miss school for a few weeks.)
Im allergic to pollen and after 2 hours of mowing on a riding mower, im more tired then a person who just ran for 2-3 hours straight
I have a sunlight allergy, but since it's an autoimmune thing, it only happens when my immune system is acting up or I'm otherwise already sick. So I can be okay with a conservative amount of sunlight for weeks or months, but then suddenly, BAM! Hives and pustules. I also have heat intolerance, but we live in the American southeast, so the weather is pretty much opposite of what I need. We are hoping to move north in the next few years though, and I look forward to someday being able to spend more time outside.

Major hayfever sufferer here. I need an air purifier running 24/7 in my room to prevent sneezing so severe I need a steroid antihistamine to stop it
I have dermatographic urticaria, white dermatolographism. Had it for 11 years now. Its gotten better as the years go by but it used to be agonizing and i would itch and make my skin bleed and i couldnt really go outside or wear shorts because the wind made my skin itchy and just made things worse.
I sneeze once a day when it's sunny. Doesn't matter what season it is. Could be 3feet of snow outside. I suspected it but now maybe I'll get tested

I'm very slightly allergic to Nickel, if I wear costume jewelry or anything less than silver or surgical steel, my skin within a few hours turns this zombie green color in the area touched by it. And it feels kinda warm to the touch but not a lot.
This reminds me of the book Wicked (about the wicked Witch of the West), who was eventually killed by a bucket of water, but bathed in oil up to that point.
I remember of two kids in kenya who cant sweat.they walked around with buckets of water.when they play with other kids and get hot they have to pour the water on themselves to cool down since they cant sweat.such complex lives

Those people who are over-clean always get more sick than a person who can live with a little mess or a less clean environment. I have observed this in reality. I feel bad for this woman.
This isn't always true. Some people only have a skin reaction but the inside of their body is fine. Meaning they drink it but not come in contact with it.
Me and my brother both have this allergy but ours is very minor. Both of us get itchy and red on the area where water contact is made. This only lasts for 5-30 minutes.
As someone who has had 3 anaphylactic reactions, I should be dead lol
Feel so badđąđđđ±
The human body is so scary and fascinating at the same time. I have seasonal allergies which is not bad at all. As I got older though now heat makes me sneeze and when I touch waxed turnips my finger swell.
I had a cat as a kid that was allergic to humans. Meatball was adopted so Iâm guessing he didnât come from a home that was very sanitary. He unfortunately died from asthma. After that I had no contact with cats until my neighbor got one a few years later. Turns out I was now allergic to cats. I get asthma around them. Nature is cruel and unforgiving.
Ya know my uncle has something where he gets these symptoms but only when the water is below 70 degrees
If itâs below 70 he will break out in painful hives (he has a separate autoimmune disorder too)
He loves to surf but can only do it in the Caribbean pretty much and wherever the water is above 70
Anyone have any thoughts?
I just start cracking up inside whenever he says water allergy.
Iâm allergic to water , bless me itâs not that bad , i can still drink water and go outside , but after skin contact with water i need to get my cortisone lotion otherwise Iâm completely full of painfull itchy bumps
I think I am experiencing it right now. The signs are showing. My auntie said I need to go to the doctor but since my exam is coming soon, I need to review. So we will be going the next day after my exam. I hope this is not going to be serious like this disease. People will probably bully
